From a post on how to speed up videos (I used method 1 last year and it was great):

Two methods I've heard of, one free but a little more complicated (and requires a smartphone), one around 30 bucks but otherwise easier:

Method 1 (iPhone-specific, since that's what I did):

1. Download iFunbox (http://www.i-funbox.com/) onto your computer
2. Download Barbri app onto your phone
3. Download lectures in the Barbri app onto your phone
4. Use iFunbox to transfer the lectures from your phone to your computer
5. Watch at faster speed in VLC Player

Method 2 (I haven't actually done this, so no guarantees, but I've seen it a few places):

1. Download FLV Grabber (http://www.flvgrabber.com/)
2. Use FLV Grabber to rip the videos from the Internet to your computer
3. Watch at faster speed in VLC Player

I poked around for a while to see if I could find a Firefox extension that did the same thing as FLV Grabber, but I couldn't find anything that worked with the Barbri site.
TY!!!!
Huh, they didn't have that function in the Barbri window last year. But yes, this will work for dl and then watch without internet connection.

Hope you guys are hanging in there. #itgetsbetter

I feel like I fluctuate back and forth between feeling like I am making progress and feeling like I am not... Also, my state's essays are a real pain in the ass (I am not CA so I guess I really shouldn't complain).

It's funny, because I said the same thing to my spouse. One day it feels great, the next day not so much. I guess it's part of the process.

Does anyone know if Barbri assigns all of their MBE questions or the additional questions on the website are ones that we can do on our own?

I'm not certain, but it seems they do. All of the study smart materials are in the mbe book as assigned problem sets.

Does anyone know what percent of the MBE questions we should be getting right at this stage of bar prep?

There's a list of "goals" for each Question set in the very front of the MPQ book (like, pg iii?) - does that help?
(Also, the first answer that came to mind when I read your Q was, "more than I'm getting right." Ugh.)

That's super helpful! Thank you! I somehow completely missed that. I randomly do really poorly on some of the question sets and it really bugs me.

It is really weird. I'm doing horrible when doing studysmart online (around 10th percentile on most subjects thus far) but doing well on paper questions. And it is not cause I'm studying more or doing easier sets.

Why not just do the MBE questions on paper and then submit them to study smart? That's what I've been doing. I really like to do the paper so I can underline, but then I go online and submit my answers so that I can see where I fall in the percentages. If you do this, the question sets are the same, but the order is scrambled, so check the questions in your book.

To answer the original question, I find myself between the 85-95% in the MBE subjects we've done. Of course, these are courses that I did a lot of supplementing with as a 1L/2L and I took both sales and contracts. I expect to get thoroughly destroyed when it's con law time...probably property time too. Oh, and I didn't pass the first submitted essay. So, definitely need to work on memorizing those rule statements.

This is about where I am as well. 80-90% on MBE Study Smart, but getting murdered on the essays. I passed the fist submitted essay, but absolutely bombed the NY Corporations Essay compared to the model answer.

Anyone else have the following glitch when using Study Smart software?: when reviewing answers after completing practice questions, the "Answer" portion of the screen (the column on the right half) only shows one line, so you can't tell which of the actual answers was the correct one, or which one you chose (unless of course you can figure it out easily from reading the explanation).

I am between 54% and 75% on the studysmart MBE scores depending on topics. Is this bad or am I on track.

I am assuming that unlike law, being the middle of the pack for the MBE is ok.

I am not getting 80-90%. More like 65-75%, still its above the averages on page iii and I think that's the most important thing to look for since most BarBri students pass the bar.

I occasionally bomb an MPQ set. I think this is normal though.

Oh I am definitely not getting 80-90% correct. I meant I am getting 80-90th percentile when using study smart. And one of those subjects was evidence, which I took last semester. I'm usually between 72-77% raw score, and I think that's fine. Although in Con Law, I dipped down to like 57-62% on 2 of the 4 sets I've done.

Oh that makes sense! Are you doing the questions in study smart or transferring the answers from paper? I'm hesitant to use study smart because it gives explanations after each question and throws off pacing.

Barbri essentially says that you just want to sit above 25%: http://www.barexambrief.com/help-im-onl ... e-worried/

Likewise with the percentiles, not always raw percentage correct.

On a related note, has anyone else doing the questions on paper noticed this: I continually get blocks of questions wrong...like 5 in a row. Then nothing wrong on the rest of the MPQ. At first I thought this was an anomaly, but it has happened on nearly every MPQ...

How do you submit the answers to study smart? I feel like I do better with paper as well.

Edit -I am dumb. I get it now. :)

You switch studysmart from study mode to test mode (there's a dropdown on the right hand side on the page, the same one where you pick your topic sets) so that it doesn't calculate your score until the end.

Ya, I do all paper MBEs and then transfer them over to study smart.

How do you input them into study smart? Is there anyway besides actually retaking and reanswering?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
