Yeah, they only sent the email to people who hadn't uploaded the Mock Exam yet. You're good!

I feel like I uploaded this but I'm unsure. I guess we can check the website?
Okay, I think this was the mock test made available awhile ago, and not any new mock test. (Entitled "NYSBOLE_Mock Exam_07-17") on ExamSoft's website.
I'm pretty confused about this. What do we need to do? I've beenn looking through my emails and on examsofts website but can't find any info.
Kind of a paranoid moment question: I saw these last few messages on July 3 (today) and couldn't remember if I had previously uploaded the mock exam. I went to the ExamSoft website but didn't see the record of it at first, so downloaded and uploaded the mock exam again, today. It turns out I had in fact uploaded it successfully about a month ago, well before the deadline.

But now what my online record shows on the ExamSoft website is the record of my most recent upload -- the one from today. Will that overwrite my original upload from a month ago, so that it will seem as though I missed the deadline? I tried calling the number but it's just a menu of automated choices. Am now worried that they'll say I failed to upload the mock exam in time and have to write by hand or something!
Just called confused about this too! Examsoft gives you 4 or 5 mock exams to download. As long as you recieved the first email confirmation of an uploaded mock, you're fine. The additional ones that will keep showing up if you keep resubmitting are for you to get acquainted with examsoft and you won't recieve an email for them! So ignore the updated date on the website- just make sure you have the confirmation email for the 1st one!

Really? The email I received from ExamSoft when I first registered for the NY Bar says:
*IMPORTANT NOTES*

You must also take the Mock Exam and upload the Mock Exam answer file by 4:30 pm EST on Saturday,
July 1, 2017 to ensure that the software is working properly on your laptop.
This is so confusing! I emailed ExamSoft, so hopefully will get a response soon.
They sent out another email on June 26 that bumped the deadline back to July 3.
Weird! I didn't get an email from them on June 26. Maybe it's because I had already done the first mock upload by then, so their system sent the emails to people for whom they didn't have a record of that. But sounds like I should be ok in any case. Thanks!!
Yeah, i think you are all good my friend. My internet went down yesterday and it still was not up this morning so I called them to see if i would be banned from using a laptop if i didnt get it to them today and the gentleman i spoke with told me no, as long as i uploaded it soon and that they give the deadline at the beginning of July to afford them sufficient time to make sure everyone (and while that refers to people in the laptop program, I do think that it encompasses the overwhelming majority of us) who registered for a laptop has one that is compatible and that their software is functioning properly. The man also told me i wouldn't be the first to upload late over the years, but fortunately the internet returned to me at 1 so i got it uploaded and need not test the authenticity of his statement...and may I just say that I cannot even type authenticity without rules about authentication followed by other evidentiary rules popping into my head and it kind of makes me gag. Anyone else? Just me? Well, it's official. Bar prep has officially rendered me damaged goods...which under article 2 of the UCC - just kidding, I'm already soaked in shame.

Hi guys,

So I guess I'm having my early July freak-out.

I'm following Barbri quite religiously, I'm completely up to date. I've been doing things kind of open book but have recently moved to full closed book.

My main issue at this stage is that I feel like I'm retaining very little. My grades seem to be ok (within a few of Barbri's recommended percentages) but when it comes time to write an essay, I'm just not capable of spitting out the rules in any specific order. I've tried writing flashcards, my own notes etc but I just don't know how to go about this memorization thing!

Like am I able to just rely on Barbri and follow that through? Or do I really need to go on my own and actively memorize definitions etc.

Freaking out here!

No particularly helpful advice other than to say I am feeling the same way! I have tried memorizing as well but I just cannot pathom being able to memorize all these rules and spit them out during the MEE.

I feel you, but the most important thing is not to panic. If you can't remember, make up a rule, apply it to your facts and come to a reasonable conclusion. You can still get points for this. I'm freaking out too as I haven't even had the testicular fortitude to do any essay questions (I've only outlined one). I'm going to start today though.

I'm doing barbri, i bought Adaptibar and using the Critical Pass flashcards and I still feel like i'm not retaining anything. But I'm really trying not to panic. If I could get through Law school and Bar school (I'm a foreign attorney in a Commonwealth jurisdiction), then I can get through this. Like Paula what's her name with the vodka a la Penne said, you just need an "ehhh." just concentrate and keep practicing. Go over your notes and don't overthink it.
Speaking to you and to me.
YOU CAN DO THIS!!! :D

You can't fail if you have followed everything that barbri has told you to do. You don't need to waste time memorizing everything, just follow the schedule and you will pass.

In case anyone is wondering about seating tickets, based on 2015/2016 patterns there's a good chance we'll get the seat ticket in our email inbox two Wednesdays before the exam (July 12 for this year). All bets are off since they've been doing things a little differently for this summer's exam, but at least we have an idea of when to watch out for the email.

Anyone have a gameplan on how we should divy up our precious study time between MEE and MBE prep? By MEE I mean stuff that isn't on the MBE (Wills, Trusts, Secured Transactions, etc.)

Like it'll take time to memorize all those rules, and I don't even have everything down pat for the MBE stuff..

That would be great if the email came out tomorrow! I really wouldn't be surprised if it came out earlier than previous years - this summer's timeline has been so different from other July exams.

Thanks for posting this. One thing I wonder is: it says you can bring your keys. It also says you can't bring electronic items in. What if your key is one of those new electronic dongle-type keys? Anyone experience that?

I have no idea why I am getting so confused/can't get a straight answer anywhere, but for the MEE/MPT day, is each sitting 1 MPT and 3 essays, or is it morning session is 2 MPTs and then 6 essays in the afternoon or vice versa?

is it just 3 hours total for both MPTs? or 90 minutes for each separately?
i had assumed a straight 3 hours for both divided as we see fit, but the instructions in themis say "you have 90 minutes for this portion of the exam," which is why i ask.

Found this on the BOLE UBE FAQ page (question 4):
The UBE is administered on the last Tuesday and Wednesday of February and July. During the morning session on Tuesday, applicants are given three hours to complete two Multistate Performance Test (MPT) items. Applicants may work on the MPTs in any order and they are free to decide how to allocate their time between the two MPT items although NCBE develops each MPT as a 90 minute test item. During the afternoon session on Tuesday, applicants are given three hours to answer six Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) questions. Again, applicants are free to answer the questions in any order and they may decide how to allocate their time among the MEE questions. On Wednesday, applicants will take the Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), which is a six-hour, 200 question multiple-choice exam divided into two three-hour sessions.
