Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Hey guys, so Chemerinsky told us not to memorize any Supreme Court rules that have come down since we started law school (2012), while the criminal procedure lecturer is including search and seizure rules from 2012-2014. Should I go back and learn some newer con law cases, or should i disregard the new crim pro rules? Or should I just let the lecturers do the thinking?

That's not what Chemerinsky said, at least not in the lecture I watched. He said that no SCOTUS rules since last June (2014) would be covered. So, nothing from this Term.murray18 wrote:Hey guys, so Chemerinsky told us not to memorize any Supreme Court rules that have come down since we started law school (2012), while the criminal procedure lecturer is including search and seizure rules from 2012-2014. I'm a repeater since 2010 and I only have 2009 Barbri books. Any important conlaw updates I need to know would be a great help. Thanks in advance.musicfor18 wrote:That's not what Chemerinsky said, at least not in the lecture I watched. He said that no SCOTUS rules since last June (2014) would be covered. I have no qualms with his voice. I listened to him on 2x speed so it was fine. But yeah. The assessments for his lectures were brutal.musicfor18 wrote:Had Kaufman for NY agency & partnership lecture. Not a fan. Besides his voice, he's the classic example of "I will tell you everything that could possibly be tested," followed by an assessment that covers almost exclusively rules that he didn't cover in the lecture.Danger Zone wrote:His voice is terrible. I lied; Kaufman is the worst. Holy shit this is painful. He talks fast so I can't speed it up much, but repeats everything over and over, and his voice cracks constantly.

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Need a little help here. Due to an unexpectedly complicated move, I just started studying for the July bar in a UBE state. I've got Barbri and my plan is watch lectures and follow along with the Conviser to play catch up, with lots of practice exams/questions as well. But I am lost in a sea of acronyms and I can't wrap my head around what exactly I am preparing to do.
Between the MEE, MPT, and MBE, are there any state-specific questions? Or is it all based on the federal rules? The MPT in particular doesn't make sense to me-- what exactly is it? If I do Conviser with the Barbri lecture videos is there any necessary material that I'm skipping over?
Any advice is appreciated, even if it's an angry link to someone asking this question on TLS before.

Didn't he shriek "TWO! TWO! TWO!" at you any time the second element in a list was "constiTUtional"?3|ink wrote:I have no qualms with his voice. I listened to him on 2x speed so it was fine. The assessment was terrible. I was deeply surprised to get 50%. Spending 3 fucking hours filling out a 16-page "outline" which then doesn't even touch most of the topics pissed me off pretty good.

hahaha, I think this any time I watch a video now. All videos feel like they're wasting my time.Hutz_and_Goodman wrote:I'm streaming a movie on Netflix and I keep thinking I want to click on the 1.5x button.

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
I'm confused. I thought they just had a deposit program to lock in discounts, and that's all you'd lose by backing out before paying the full amount? I'm doing BarBri because my firm direct bills and that's all they allow, but I'm confused as to what they threatened you with.SMalone580 wrote:Did anyone else get stuck taking BarBri because they signed a discount form and then threatened you when you wanted to switch? reallllllyyy wishing I was taking a different company right now because i'm so not prepared or where i should be.

There was a discussion elsewhere on TLS where it was recommended to take any kind of threat like that to your school, because the school would likely fight it for you.mushybrain wrote:I'm confused. But no, I chose Barbri and paid for it myself.

Anyone else attending the MBE "simulation" this Friday? My state offers it. May as well see if what I'm doing so far translates to.
