Re: July 2015 MBE Scores/Results
Passed PA here. Got a 152 MBE and 149 Essay for 301. Was very nervous. Thought I crushed the essay, when I actually didn't. And thought that I scored way lower on the MBE. Felt like the AM MBE was the hardest thing ever, but the PM wasn't too bad. I got a 126 raw MBE score at the midterm. Didn't take the refresher. Oh, and I took Barbri and supplemented with Adaptibar. I don't know if I would have done as well on the MBE without Adaptibar. Acutally I know I wouldn't have.

They DO allow you to IL MBE score but they won't allow you to see your score if you passed. (I don't know why.)robinhoodOO wrote:Oh, so you only get it if you fail? Or like never?kyle010723 wrote:Nah, IL does not authorize NCBE to release score, nor would IL release score to us.robinhoodOO wrote: If I recall, Anon15 bombed the essays in part because he/she didn't spend as much time studying IL state subjects (this individual self-studied).
Also, you can request your MBE score
Also, it's weird, but the IBAB and NCBE both state:
"MBE Score Transfer or Advisory request FROM Illinois:
IBAB no longer authorizes the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) to transfer its MBE scores. If you would like to have your IL MBE score transferred to other jurisdictions, for a fee of $25 per jurisdiction, please submit your request by filing out and sending in our MBE Score Transfer or Advisory Request Form. MBE Score Transfer or Advisory Request form. "
Unless I'm reading it wrong, they both do and do not permit transfer of IL MBE scores :/ Maybe the info hasn't been updated/corrected? Or is it just referring to more recent MBE scores? Not exactly very clear...

I agree. Adaptibar really really helps. Barbri, themis, kaplan, etc. don't want to pay royalties to the NCBE so they make up their own questions, but those questions are never going to be as real as the MBE.Lacepiece23 wrote:Passed PA here. If ANYONE needs a code for $75 off Adaptibar send me a pm with your email address and I will hook it up!

For what it's worth, like 90% of Themis's questions are licensed NCBE questions, the rest are just re-worded (except Civ Pro, obviously). I had adaptibar as well, but ended up not using it much since by the time I started it, I had seen about 30-40% of the questions from Themis. But if I ever had to do a bar in another state, I would use adaptibar.

Damn really?!?! I took Themis and didn't even know this. I was even a Rep and made $300 signing up students. LOL. PASSED NH!
Did about 80% of Barbri. Got a UBE scaled score of 301. NH requires 270. Don't know what I got on the MBE, as NH doesn't release MBE scores to those who pass.
I felt that the morning's questions were no where near the type of questions that I had been using to prepare.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this post...it is filling my time and helping to ease my nerves. Waiting on SC results. Should be posted at the end of this month. I was curious as to timing on essays and mbe. Did you all feel like you had time to spare or barely finished on essays/MBE? Also, I echo everyone's thoughts about the MBE. Absolutely awful and terrified that I failed because of it.

Re: July 2015 MBE Scores/Results
My MBE timing was on par with my bar prep (Themis). I finished with about 10 min. to spare in each session and remember reviewing the first 40-50 questions again both times. However, I was averaging about 1:05-1:10 per question with ~74% accuracy during prep so I may be "unreasonably" fast.anxious89 wrote:Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this post...it is filling my time and helping to ease my nerves. My essay timing is irrelevant because I took in CA.
Hope this helps

I have some of the same anxiety from time to time. But then I look at the chart that robinhood put together and I see that someone passed with a scaled score 120. Which I think means the raw score was even lower?anxious89 wrote: Also, I echo everyone's thoughts about the MBE. Absolutely awful and terrified that I failed because of it.
Now I understand different jurisdictions weigh the MBE differently, but I truly believe that if you did your prep in a smart way and used those skills effectively to attack the MBE then you have a pretty good chance of not bombing the thing. The pattern seems to be that a lot of people are feeling awful about the MBE but walking away with pretty healthy scaled MBE scores and PASSING.

I had a quite low MBE scaled score (below 130) and passed. I guess they had to scale pretty generously, otherwise results would have been a complete desaster. The MBE was hard, felt horrible after the AM session and was frustrated that my prep class didn't seem to have prepared me well enough. What fascinates me is that such 'predictions' as Chris Fromm's, who said actual MBE scores would be up by about 20 from the practice exams, are almost spot on.

Re: July 2015 MBE Scores/Results
I finished both the AM and PM MBE with about 22-24 mins to spare each time. I then stayed for the remainder of each session and reviewed questions, especially the first 25-30 questions because I was tripped out on the D's there on my exam. I used adaptibar to really get my timing corrected. My timing was in line with my practice... Personally I know the more time I take to complete a section the more I was struggled, because the answer comes to be after I read the facts, then I just look for it.anxious89 wrote:Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this post...it is filling my time and helping to ease my nerves. In regards to the essay... NY usually gives long fact patterns with 3-5 questions each, making the essays really time crunched. At the end of each session, there testing center was relatively full... very few people left before the 15 min mark where you could actually leave in NY.

Re: July 2015 MBE Scores/Results
Thanks everyone! I finished both sections with ample time to spare, which was on par with my practice, but it still made me nervous haha. I also did not go back and review because I know myself ( I second guess everything and would have changed 80% of my answers, which I was lucky to narrow down to two at best). And thanks for the positive vibes, I can use all of those I can get going into the final two week stretch. Hopefully what Barbri said the whole time was true...if you put in the work on the MBE you will be fine. I guess I just have a hard time believing anything they said after they preached and preached about how much easier the real thing would feel. It left me feeling like a mess. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Re: July 2015 MBE Scores/Results
I remember finishing both sections of my MBE in about 2 hours and 10 mins, which is on par with my Barbri practice times. Essays on the other hand, I forced myself to finish them in 30 mins each. Most of them were right on time, but character limits caused a lot of issues for me.anxious89 wrote:Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this post...it is filling my time and helping to ease my nerves. Re: July 2015 MBE Scores/Results
Were his predictions that there would be a 20 point increase mean that it's 20 more to get your scaled score? For example, you get 120 on a practice MBE day and end up with 140 "scaled"? Or is he saying that you should get 140 raw on test day which would be like 150-160 scaled.derklink wrote:mike.alexander23 wrote:I have some of the same anxiety from time to time. If you guys can't tell, this whole raw/scaled score thing and its correlation with bar prep midterm raw scores is really confusing to me.

Re: July 2015 MBE Scores/Results
Okay. The correlation is, of course, going to vary by person.
BUT he basically said that one's "raw" score on the actual bar exam should increase because, theoretically, the bar exam questions were supposed to be easier and, as a result, most people were supposed to get higher raw scores. Additionally, he said that because the raw score gets scaled, then one's score should experience a second bump.

I was a transfer and became a rep during 3L. So I obviously didnt have the accumulated time and hours to get the course for free. So instead they offered me a per referral fee. I also won my bar review course tuition at a law school silent auction. Long story short, I was probably the only person who actually made cash as a rep.sd5289 wrote:You made money as a rep? Damn.
