Don't worry about it. You probably passed. Just sit back and enjoy the show.LAW813FL wrote:This thread is making me lose my mind...each question I realize I get wrong just ruins my day

I remember there were fur coats that this dude couldn't buy, some guy drown all of his ex-wives in bathtubs, and a farmer that sold his land on a napkin. That's about it.kyle010723 wrote:Also, I'm quite impressed some of you can cite all these case laws. I barely remember any cases from law school.

I thought it was awful. I was so brain-effed after having seen so many tough questions, that I think I pysched myself out on a lot of the easier questions, too. I know about a dozen that I think I got wrong already, just thinking about them now that I'm not in test environment.

Been hearing a lot of people saying it was a time crunch, but I finished like 55 minutes early in the am session, and like 35 minutes early in the pm session. I don't go back to questions because I've found I second the correct answer too much, and am good at recognizing correct answers right away (when reading the prompt, I try to guess what they will ask, and what the correct question will be, and at least in practice q's it's generally correct) but was shocked when I heard people were having time issues. Just seeing I was the only one, or if I was foolish. I never felt confident about the answers, but learned a while ago to trust my instincts.
I was rushing in both sessions. In the AM, I had 22 questions left at the 10 min mark and had to skim and guess. In the PM, I wrote down about 20 questions to go back and take a second look, and only had time to go back to one of them. UGH. Never had timing problems in practice.

I generally finish with 15-20 minutes left. During the morning session, I stay behind to tally the questions to determine my studying strategy during the break. For my version of the exam, there were only 7 crim pro and 8 crim law questions in the morning, so I went over my crim pro and crim law note cards in anticipation for the afternoon. That focused studying during the break helped keep a couple concepts (i.e. 5th amend v 6th amend) fresh and straight in my head so that I could knockout those questions in the afternoon. I've done this each time, and I'd highly recommend using your leftover time to do this type of breakdown.osbarca wrote:dietcoke0 wrote:Anyone finish super fast? The uniformity of the perceived difficulty of the MBE ITT gives me chills. Best of luck to you all, I hope like hell that you all passed.

It was difficult for me because a lot of the questions were ambiguously worded.

QFT. I think I'm done talking about this damn test until November, but this is the truth of why it was so poorly received. Looking through this forum and seeing the the difference of opinion that intelligent, well-educated, well-prepared people are having over a multiple choice exam is, quite frankly, ridiculous. Multiple choice questions should have a cut and dry answer. Not be so nuanced they can be debated ad nauseum.jaysnooginz wrote:It was difficult for me because a lot of the questions were ambiguously worded.

One of my professors sits on a committee that drafts MC questions (don't remember if it was for state portion or for MBE) but he said that they take pride in doing crap like that (re: ambiguity). :/Veridian40 wrote:QFT. I mean, if we want to be honest, the fact that we license people for our profession based in large part on whether or not they can figure out a test writer's tricks is pretty ridiculous.Veridian40 wrote:QFT. Yeah...I feel like I'm more than competent to practice law. I feel like I put in ample work studying for the bar. It would not surprise me in the slightest if I failed it, and that just sucks.M_n_M wrote:I mean, if we want to be honest, the fact that we license people for our profession based in large part on whether or not they can figure out a test writer's tricks is pretty ridiculous.Veridian40 wrote:QFT. Re: MBE - how'd you feel?
Honestly I dont know if it was hard or just extremely poorly drafted. It felt like we were doing the first draft of the questions, which would make sense since they draft new questions every time (I think?). Whereas for a bar prep company, their questions were so well drafted cause they've been using the same questions over and over.
I echo what had been said, if the collective hive of TLS cannot figure this thing out, I dont know who could.
