I am moving in to NYC apartment first week of June. Will I be able to take the test at Javits Center?

Did you list that address on your application? If not, then I believe, you will be subject to the same time pressures to select Javitz before the email goes out (if link remains unchanged) as all other out of state takers.

I agree. Proof of residency is due on May 15th. If you don't have any proof of NY residency for April, I am afraid you will be granted status UNASSIGNED (as the rest of the out of state takers). At least, this is what I was told when I called the office in charge.

I don't know if everyone gets it, or only people who went to schools out of state. I registered under my NY home address and got an email today about the proof of residency. So I assumed that everyone who registered with the NY address gets the email. I might be wrong though

I have a permanent NYC address (parents live there) and kind of kicking myself for not using it.

If you never obtained permanent residence in the state where your school at, I don't see any problem with that. As far as I am concerned, you never abandoned your NY residence. Besides, for all other administrative purposes (not related to bar exam) you will be considered an NY resident. So, it is all good in my book. I don't think it shows dishonesty on your part. Going to school out of state doesn't automatically mean that you change your residence.

I did that, and got an email for proof of residence. So unless you have a valid NY ID,bills in your name, or executed lease agreement, I don't think that would work.

Yeah I haven't heard of this either. I both live and went to school in NYC though, so maybe I'm exempt from this?

Can anyone who just got certified in the First Department tell me what deadline they set for C&F application submission in order to get sworn in on July 13th? And is there any info on the swearing-in session after that comes after the one on July 13th? (Deadline, interview date(s), and the swearing-in date itself?)

I second this question. I'm coming off clerking, and there's a narrow window in early September when I'll have moved to New York but not yet started in big law. This is when it's best for me to interview and swear in. I'm in the Second Department. When should I apply?

Both of these if they don't receive it you can't sit for the bar. So I'm not going to trust my school and the USPS.

Talked to them on phone recently, they said if you don't receive anything by june 7th to call them to make sure everything is okay. (I was worried about my school actually sending stuff to them on time).

so June 7th is a good panic date.

Just scroll down to the bottom and click the unique link for you. You'll put in your email address to confirm it's you, and then it'll ask you to confirm (or change if you want) your assigned testing center.

Just got the email. Live in NYC so I selected NYC as the option. Says it'll be confirmed once all the educational requirements are confirmed (or something along those lines)
