Not close to 25%, but I started 8 days late and think that I should realistically be there by this weekend fairly easily if not before.

I would hope minimum competency for civ pro could be reached by a civil litigation paralegal that now has a law degree. There is nothing to "get over myself" about - I'm disappointed in myself.

For those falling behind or thinking they are, just remember, it is a seriously diminished return for many states past 75% completion. I might get flamed for this from some overpreppers, but at least for my state, Themis has a near 95% pass rate if you complete 75% of the course. From 75-100%, it doesn't seem to really go up much, if at all. Striving to complete it all would be nice, but imo, getting that 75% benchmark is a bigger deal than going from 76%-100%. I'm only around 25% right now, but doing well on the PQ's/essays and I'm not pulling "real" days on the weekends, just 2-3 hours sat/sun.

Ymmv of course and if you're taking a harder state, god speed to you :)

Got good feedback/scores on my second graded essay even though I missed an issue and flat out answered a part wrong. Not sure what to make of these scores...

Wouldn't only completing 75% mean you miss some topics?

I think all subjects are covered by the first week of July, and the remaining time is review, essays, MC, etc... So if you do only 75%, you SHOULD cover every subject, you just won't get all the practice.

Yes, this is correct. According to the recommended schedule, by the July 4th holiday we should finish all substantive materials and doing practice sets and essays for the rest of the time remaining. So no more awful videos in July

Excellent. I'm working through the material at the pace suggested by Themis, but I could really use some review time. I suppose that will be in July.

And they're so long. I loved ConLaw- half the lecture were only 14min.

Yeah. I split that 4 hour bastard up into two days.

Any lecture that is more than 2.5 hours is unbearable. Even in 2x speed.

Fuck fuck fuck. Shit the bed so aggressively hard on the graded torts essay. I wanted to write "sorry" at the bottom. Torts was a strong subject for me 1L, I don't know what's happening now. I waste so much time on essays writing out an issue, then realizing it doesn't apply or answer the question.

Gonna do some property PQs to cheer me up I guess. Real disheartened though.

Edit: In reviewing it, I probably got half the credit. So not a total bedshitting, I just did all the writing in the span of like 7 minutes.

Additionally, anyone using Critical Pass? I understand the language in them is basically identical to Bar Bri, but for those using them, how does it mesh with the Themis materials?

wrt Critical Pass:

I purchased the app. Used it for contracts and torts. Language seemed similar.

I've stopped using them because the flash cards I make based on the lecture handouts are generally the same. There might be a few extra things in the CP cards, but not much to make it worth the extra cash. In my opinion.

I don't really understand why, but Evidence is by far the most boring subject covered thus far. Even K's and Real Property/Personal Property was more engaging.

I'm using Critical Pass mostly help me memorize. It follows the handouts pretty well, with some extra info (important info IMO) in there as the previous person said. After I finish a lecture, I make my own short (1-3 page) outline and use Critical Pass to review the information. Before I do a practice set, I go over my own outline and the Critical Pass cards. I feel like it helps me memorize.

Can you buy individual topics in the app?

I dont think so. I think its an all or nothing sort of deal.

You can download the app and sample a few of the cards though. Then you can decide when you want to take the plunge with the app, or find a used version of the physical cards somewhere.

Luckily, I had some stored itunes money, so it wasn't that big of a hit.

I enjoyed the Lincoln assassination hypos. It sent me on a few Wikipedia tangents during the breaks. For example, did you know the Major Rathbone later suffered what appeared to be PTSD symptoms as a result of the assassination, and ended up murdering his wife while serving as a diplomat in Germany after the war? So of the people in the booth when Lincoln was murdered, three died violent deaths (Booth, Lincoln, and Clara Rathbone), and two fell into a mental decline (Mary Todd and Henry Rathbone). Pretty crazy.

I will literally be done with all outlines (meaning all topics will be covered in some extent) and I'm at 51%. I'm liable to believe that 75% means you're DEEP into review territory.

I took Evidence last semester. I think the fact that so much of the lecture material was so fresh in my brain made me want to drown myself, whereas a lot of stuff in K's or Real Property were things I vaguely remembered but couldn't narrow down to specifics. But because I'm terrified of failure, I still followed along with the Evidence lecture and filled out the handout, even tho I could have probably skipped half of it and been completely fine.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
