No prob. I guess it could take a bit less time if you finish early though.acrossthelake wrote:Thanks!chimp wrote:an houracrossthelake wrote:How long do the graded essays take? I ask for scheduling purposes.

I just looked ahead and Themis has me slated for full work days on Saturday and Sunday.

Just ignore it then. Their scheduler is definitely not intuitive. I make my own weekly schedule that half-corresponds to Themis', and if I get ahead or fall back one day, I'll adjust accordingly.kapital98 wrote:I just looked ahead and Themis has me slated for full work days on Saturday and Sunday.

I wasn't very impressed with them anyway. I'm not certain yet, but I think I'm sticking to the handouts.Gotti wrote:So....I still have no summary outlines.

Took me 6 times. Some of my friends actually got a NYC testing site even though they don't live in NYC. And some of my friends who pre-reserved Albany hotels got screwed and have to go to Buffalo…acrossthelake wrote:I was but it worked the 3rd time I tried.

I've been working ahead because they had me on that, and it has adjusted to lighten the load.kapital98 wrote:I just looked ahead and Themis has me slated for full work days on Saturday and Sunday.

It's incredibly annoying in light of the fact that they specifically tell us not to work on weekends. Their own schedule is not designed to follow the schedule they set for us.j1987 wrote:I've been working ahead because they had me on that, and it has adjusted to lighten the load.kapital98 wrote:I just looked ahead and Themis has me slated for full work days on Saturday and Sunday.

I kind of wish Kramer was teaching the rest of the Themis lectures? Except for the civ pro professor because I had him my 1L year.. I guess everyone can guess where I went to law school now.acrossthelake wrote:Yeah one of my friends is having problems.j1987 wrote:So… is anyone else having trouble getting to the website to reserve a seat at a NY testing location? I kind of wish Kramer had actually taught me Property back when I was a 1L.

I think that also depends on if you started when they recommended. I started a week after the suggested start time for my jurisdictions, so I think that's why I have stuff on the weekends? I'm not too sure. I'm still going to study on the weekends, but I don't know if I plan on pulling a full 8 hours.Tanicius wrote:It's incredibly annoying in light of the fact that they specifically tell us not to work on weekends. I started a week early, and I'm practically back to square one on the normal schedule with everyone else because I haven't been working on the weekends.j1987 wrote:I think that also depends on if you started when they recommended. Oh wow.. then that's definitely contrary to what they said. I've been working on the weekends, but not insanely. My Barbri friends have been studying 8-10 hours during the week (Barbri apparently gave them a quota) and then a bunch on the weekends.

What I don't understand is Themis's statement that we should not be studying that much. I guess "not that much" means 8 hours, 7 days a week? So much for the marathon.
I've been doing 6 hrs each weekday and 4 each weekend day. I'm sticking to that at least until July.

I think you are right. I started about a week behind everyone else and have fallen behind a day on their adjusted schedule.j1987 wrote:

No matter what, I'm not going to work weekends this far out from the exam. I'm going to keep working out and going out to dinner. This is a marathon and I have a pretty good idea how much I can take. I set my own pace during 1L and did pretty decent. I'm hoping for a similar result with Themis.
Edit: I've completed 4 days now and am at 8%.

I started early and got out way ahead and it still gives me full schedules for the weekends.

How much are you spending per day?kapital98 wrote:I think you are right. I started about a week behind everyone else and have fallen behind a day on their adjusted schedule.j1987 wrote:

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
I'm doing about 3-4 hours per day of quality studying. I don't think 2% a day is that bad considering I'm a week behind everyone else. It's just an indication that I'm not catching up. I plan on using more Saturdays the closer I come to the test.Genuine4ps wrote:How much are you spending per day?kapital98 wrote:

Right now the magic number is 75%. I'll adjust accordingly if I don't think I can make it on time.

3-4 hours a day for four days and you're at 8%? That's actually pretty impressive.kapital98 wrote:I'm doing about 3-4 hours per day of quality studying. Thank you. I only do quality studying. I'm not the kind of person that sits down with a book and then takes a bunch of breaks with Facebook and Youtube.Genuine4ps wrote:

Also, it doesn't hurt that I'm not memorizing the outlines right now. That's a major time sink. Right now I'm just reading the large outlines, doing the lectures, and the MBE practice Q's. Time requirements may change in the future.

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
At first, I was an advocate for skipping the large outline and diving right into the handout. After doing a couple sets of MBEs for Con Law, I found several questions that weren't covered in the handout. It sucks, though, because those long outlines are a bear to get through.kapital98 wrote:Thank you. I only do quality studying.
