Maybe a little early but know some people are ahead of the game on this - has anyone submitted or made a start on preparing affidavits/documents for admission?

Encouraging Feb. '19 MBE mean especially for repeaters. See link from NCBE: http://www.ncbex.org/news/february-2019-mbe-score/

Ordinarily, yes! But bar examiners usually have something different up their sleeves, don't they?purehope wrote:Nice to know..!! But does this means that the curve to pass will be higher?

Is there any correlation between when NY will release and the April 15 article? Or any insight into NY release?

For what it's worth, the NY BOLE website states: "The results for the February 2019 Bar Examination are expected to be available during the last week of April."febtaker2019 wrote:Is there any correlation between when NY will release and the April 15 article? Or any insight into NY release?

The last two days of April happen to fall on a Monday and Tuesday, April 29th and April 30th respectively.
So my feeling is that we should likely know our results by next week.

I also wonder if the MEE/MPT is curved/scaled. If anyone has info please share. Thanks in advance.

"Change address" is now closed on the BOLE page, if it means anything . . .

Re: NY February 2019 Group
The wait for the results is most horrendous... I can't make up my mind on whether I might pass or fail. Failed July 2018 with a 232 as I was extremely unprepared. I only managed to complete 30% of Kaplan and didn't take time off work except for the bar exam days (I seriously considered withdrawing back then but I decided to turn up give it a shot anyway). This time, I really hope to pass, but the MBE was quite traumatic... I didn't expect to walk out feeling like I was guessing on at least 50% of my answers for both the AM and PM sessions, although i struggled more during the PM. Anyone felt the same?

tl;dr
Here's the excerpt re: why higher MBE curve is better for everyone:
"This next part is the reason that we are all competing against each other on the essays but cheering for each other on the MBE. The raw score of the essays is scaled to our actual results of the MBE in order to create the scaled score. [This is the equation.] (https://i.imgur.com/zwRDp6Q.png) If everybody went crazy and we averaged a 160 scaled score on the MBE, every single student could pass the bar because the MEE scores would be scaled around an average of 160 instead of the usual average of 135-140. Now obviously if the average on the MBE was 160, then we would all deserve to pass the Bar because we would all be excellent at telling the Bar what it wants to hear. Consequently, our performance on the essays would be assumed to be equally excellent. This is why the MEE is scaled to the MBE results. It prevents test takers from being punished for taking the MEE and MPT in a really strong group. Obviously, this assumes that there is a correlation between your essay score and your MBE score."
Wishing everyone nothing but the best!

Repeat taker here. Took July 2018 exam and got a 261
I actually felt worse about the essays than the MBE because I ran out of time before finishing 1 essay. Really hoping that won't affect my score too much but who really knows?

I think the results are coming out Tuesday April 23rd. I took the Feb 18 NY bar and it came out on the 24th.

Ditto! Possibly in a worse position. I terribly mismanaged my timing. I literarily wrote a sentence on one (question 5) and the last question was barely half complete. Can't stop kicking myself. It was a huge huge opportunity to pass! I'm still hopeful though. Hoping for a miracle, a bumper MBE.bawstonian wrote:Repeat taker here. You can miss or bomb 2 essays and still pass with flying colors. Its not a exam in which they are testing perfection; rather they require a 266/400 which is a 66/100.TheJuryMustDie wrote:Ditto! I hope you are right! I have always struggled with the written part. I hope I did just enough. Can't be more than a week to wait now. Did your essay grading fall in line with your expectations last time or did you think that they were overly tough on your essays? Meaning when you got your essay scores back were you surprised or were you able to gauge how well you performed?TheJuryMustDie wrote:I hope you are right!
