13/25 on real prop workshop and feelin real stressed. Also completely agree about crim pro set 4 - the pre mediation question was so frustrating. Anyone do property set 1 yet? Was it brutal?

also when you all finish the daily assignments and homework you may have from a previous day (like i have property hw still), do you stop for the day or do independent study? i always want to just stop but kind of feel guilty i guess?

I do independent study everyday. I make sure to do a lecture if there is one (MBE so far) and then I'll either study that day's lecture or another area of law.

I'm still trying to catch up on my PSP, but after I do that, I imagine I will do the assignments, including the homework, and then supplement with adaptibar and Emmanuel's MBE book.

Yeah I've been focusing on MBE primarily. I always do the lectures and questions set for that day as well with a little Adaptibar if I have time

answered some property questions using emmanuel's and my average dropped to 50%. Fact pattern/questions are worded differently and it's harder to identify the exact narrow issue. I also noticed wrong answers are not as obvious...

What are you all doing other than Barbri? I've seen Adaptibar and Emmanuel's--anything else?

I was so enraged by that question I immediately came here, only to find I was not the only one. What nonsense. When a question is so poorly drawn up, it really just devolves into guessing.mvp99 wrote:2-3 crim questions for today (set 4) are ridiculously bad. Especially the one dealing with premeditated murder. There's no way we'll have a similar fact pattern on the bar exam with that kind of fuzzy definition, especially when there's real inconsistent case law out there. I don't want to give any spoilers here but if you agree let me know. I know one of Barbri's strategies is to make us think we suck so we end up studying more than we have to but this is just ridiculous.

Also, I was wondering if people are noticing a substantial difference in how they're scoring on Barbri MCQs versus how they're scoring on Adaptibar MPQs. I know that Barbri questions are significantly harder, but I find myself scoring very close to the supposed average on Barbri questions but substantially above average on Adaptibar (in the 70-75 percent range). Should I be taking anything from this?

Same for me. I'm at 70ish% for Adaptibar but much lower on the barbri questions.jj252525 wrote:Also, I was wondering if people are noticing a substantial difference in how they're scoring on Barbri MCQs versus how they're scoring on Adaptibar MPQs. I'm assuming it's not a bad thing, if the Adaptibar questions more closely resemble what we can expect next month? That being said, all input is welcome.WheatThins wrote:Same for me. I'm also much lower on Barbri MPQs than Adaptibar. On the MPQS I'm either just hitting the average or missing it by 1 or 2. 70% on adaptibar. I'm also hoping this is a good thing..jj252525 wrote:I'm assuming it's not a bad thing, if the Adaptibar questions more closely resemble what we can expect next month? I've read in other threads that adaptibar mostly utilizes very old questions that do not reflect the current exam and are somewhat easier than the real thing. But 70% sounds pretty good especially considering we have 5 more weeks to study.jj252525 wrote:I'm assuming it's not a bad thing, if the Adaptibar questions more closely resemble what we can expect next month? are you guys timing yourselves yet for the MPQs? For other topics I haven't had a huge issue with timing but property is KILLING me with time. It takes me over a minute to READ the question let alone answer it.

I have a bad habit of answering a few, checking TLS.

I spent 40 minutes on 20 questions of the property workshop. Know that on the MBE we won't have 200 property questions.ellewoods123 wrote:are you guys timing yourselves yet for the MPQs? So for the question sets that have the accompanying video lecture explanation (usually 25 multiple choice questions, then like a 1.5 hour video going over them): Where are those questions coming from? I usually just click on the PDF version of the questions that correspond with the video, rather than do the questions in the dead-tree book. But which dead-tree book are those questions even in?
I ask because I have a dead-tree book called "MBE Practice Questions." I would like to randomly do some practice questions out of that book every day if I have the chance, however I do not want to "spoil" any questions by doing them before an online assignment.

The Barbri MBE practice books (MPQ) has both the workshops (those 25 questions with the lectures) and MPQ sets, both of which get assigned. The workshops are on the dark edged pages.Br3v wrote:So for the question sets that have the accompanying video lecture explanation (usually 25 multiple choice questions, then like a 1.5 hour video going over them): Where are those questions coming from? If you wanted extra questions, I would look into Adaptibar or Emmanuel's MBE Book.
I have a code for 50 off adaptibar if you go that route.

the MPE Practice Questions book has a set of "workshops" for each subject. that's where the question sets come from that 25qs each. The hw assignment sets are batches of 18 and are also in that same book, numbered set "1-6"

Thanks to both of you. I just did a quick check of the book and saw that the first set was one of the 18 set Qs, and didn't take the tip to flip through to see that the 25Q workshops were in the same book.
Are the questions in this book real past MBE questions? Or is that why Sublime recommend A/E?

Nah, Barbri questions are all made up, A/E are all real (as far as I know) except for Civ Pro bc this is the first MBE it is on.Br3v wrote:Thanks to both of you. Also, check to see if your firm reimburses for a "supplemental" bar course like adaptibar. That's a main reason I copped it. Then I later stress copped Emmanuel's bc it was like $80.

Don't understand how the MBE can supposedly be all about the majority rule and then have some of these Barbri sets ask multiple questions about the common law RAP.

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2016 (UBE -NY)
I'm 95% sure the following Barbri question for today is wrong. Set2Question8 of today's property set.
It says O conveyed a land to a veterinarian, but if the property is used for any other purpose, it is to go to the American Cancer Society.
American Cancer Society executory interest is void because of REA. Therefore what remains is: "O conveyed a land to a veterinarian, but if the property is used for any other purpose" In this case, this fee simple determinable would simply read "from O to A" and A would hold in fee simple absolute. Had the conveyance been "so long as the property..." then the fee simple determinable remains and the grantor gets a possibility of reverter. (I quote a book on this stuff below)
Well, Barbri's right answer says the friend must have joined the sale of land because the friend had a possibility of reverter (the vet attempted to sell the land in Fee simple absolute and later refused, a buyer sued for specific performance). But everything points to the conclusion that the vet actually had the land in fee simple absolute.
"For example, if the void future interest is struck from the conveyance 'to A, but if the property is used to sell alcoholic beverages, to B" the grant will simply read 'to A' and A will hold in fee simple absolute. On the other hand, if the conveyance reads 'To A, so long as the property is not used to sell alcoholic beverages, then to B' only the phrase 'then to B' would be struck; A will still have a fee simple determinable but the grantor will take a possibility of reverter[.]"
Am I right?
