Re: July 2015 Texas Bar Exam
For BARBRI people:
What's the deal with this simulated essay day or whatever on Thursday I think (for Austin at least)?
I haven't been to class much the past few weeks. Did they make an announcement about it or anything?

Re: July 2015 Texas Bar Exam
It's 3 hours long:
2 Texas Essays
1 MPT
10 CivPro/Evidence questions; 10 CrimPro/Evidence questions
Self-Graded -- Bring either laptop (fully charged since outlets are limited) or writing materials
BTW, for next Tuesday's MBE, bring your practice MBE book and the scantron that came with our materials. That one IS the full day simulation (6 hours + lunch break).

Are they announcing the essay prompts so we can do them at home?BVest wrote:It's 3 hours long:

The online description says "Whether you attend this simulated written exam in a classroom or complete it on your own, timing the exam is a critical element of this exercise that contributes to your time management and essay organization skills," so I'm guessing they must be giving the prompts online.

Has anyone received their admission ticket yet? Also, how is everyone studying for the TX Crim/Civ/Evidence portion?

What is everyone's plan as far as studying for bankruptcy and taxes? I read through the outlines that Themis gave us, but I can hardly remember a thing I read.

No admission ticket yet. I will probably just try to memorize as much as I can from the civ/crim procedure model answers.mattin7827 wrote:Has anyone received their admission ticket yet? Also, how is everyone studying for the TX Crim/Civ/Evidence portion?

When I spoke to my BLE licensure analyst person a while back he said that they were going to start mailing them out June 24th. So the tickets should be on their way.mattin7827 wrote:Has anyone received their admission ticket yet? Also, how is everyone studying for the TX Crim/Civ/Evidence portion?

They really should send the tickets out earlier. As an out-of-stater, can't book a flight or hotel since I don't know what city I'll be in.

And don't they say we're supposed to call them if we don't have our tickets by 25 days out? Which is tomorrow...tianziwansui wrote:Same here. No one else has their ticket yet either, right?

I'm only going to focus on issues that the lecturer said is prime for a cross over. I took both classes in law school so I will hedge my bets that I either remember the issues or its one of the cross over issues that I specifically studied.texlaw wrote:What is everyone's plan as far as studying for bankruptcy and taxes? I'm way more concerned about the Tex procedure and evidence. I feel like it's so much for such a small payoff.

Re: July 2015 Texas Bar Exam
I called today to find out what's going on. The licensure analyst I spoke with said admission tickets weren't generated until 6/26 and weren't mailed out until this past Monday, 6/29. Love that they aren't even going to be arriving to us before we're 25 days out from the Bar. He didn't seem too concerned, but I'm betting when tomorrow rolls around and tickets aren't being received, people are going to be freaking out. And it's a holiday weekend. Nice work, TX BLE.Greenandgold wrote:And don't they say we're supposed to call them if we don't have our tickets by 25 days out? Which is tomorrow...tianziwansui wrote:Same here. PSA: I am an out-of-stater who was concerned about the same things (i.e., hotel, flight, etc.). My analyst said, at least for my site, that no one has been bumped and no will be bumped because they have enough space available. She assured me I could go ahead and book my flight to my first choice--so I did. I'd call your analyst if you're in a similar position because airfare is not getting any cheaper between now and then.sattx wrote:I called today to find out what's going on. This all sounds like out-of-state discrimination to me.
Lemme go check my constitutional law outline...

Received my ticket today in Austin (postmark Jul 1). I've got a feeling folks in Dallas and Houston may also get theirs today, but farther afield will have to wait until Monday.
(ETA: Also in the first quarter of the alphabet, in case it took them multiple days to do their mailing -- assuming it was alphabetical.)

I'm in Dallas, at the end of the alphabet. I didn't receive my ticket today. I applied towards the end of the application period so that might make a difference as well.

For those who got their ticket today: does receiving the ticket mean you passed the C&F background check?

No. You can sit even if the investigation isn't over or if you haven't passed. You just can't be licensed until C&F is complete. You'll get the asterisk beside your name on the pass list.Neff wrote:For those who got their ticket today: does receiving the ticket mean you passed the C&F background check?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
