The percentile stuff on studysmart really boosted my confidence. At least I feel prepared for the MBE now.

My flight leaves on the day after at noon, so I'll definitely be up for a drink after.

I just "did" the property essay Barbri assigned for yesterday. Lol wut? I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be a family law or wills essay, because that had very little to do with what we learned in property lectures. Oh well. Better to see some questions and have no idea what they mean now than on the day of the test.

What a shitty essay. Not only was barely real property, a couple of the questions were literally outline dumps.

Yup, and I was like say what? I got torts back. I passed with a 66 :). Marked improvement from last time. Hoping for family law and/or torts essay on the exam. Not getting my hopes up though. lol. But, yeah, I looked at property and was like, "the fuck is lis pendends?" And pretty much wrote that on my outline.

Edit: See, I still don't known what lis pendens is. Lis pendends. lolz.

I didn't submit the latest essay. Just not worth it since I have the model answer right there. Torts is definitely my worst topic on both the MPQ and the essay though right now (among the ones we've learned already, save Delinquency and Dependency).

Does anybody's bar prep provide them with Florida Rules of Judicial Administration or are we supposed to just study the handbook? I don't seem to have an outline/lecture for these rules.

I went ahead and bought it. Mistake, but not because it sucks.

All of the cards come from Cram.com, which is a community-run site (so I'll be sure to check the accuracy of all the cards). Cram also happens to have its own app, which is free. It's a little more convenient to just have all these cards in one place rather than having to filter through search results, but probably not $3 more convenient.

TL;DR get the Cram app unless the searching annoys you to the point of spending $3

Edit: I take it back. All of the cards for the Florida topics use MBE law and don't include the florida distinictions. Not helpful, at least to me.

I'm at the Westin, it's like a 4 minute walk. Absolutely the last thing I wanted to do that morning is worry about parking.
I'm staying there too. I called ahead to make sure it was walkable. Hotel selection gunnin

P.S. Fucking 2/3rds of the participants in this thread are connected to Vandy
Makes sense that Vandy is big in FL. Hopefully more than 2/3 of us pass the bar when the time comes lol. Looked at the passage rates for UF, FSU, and Stetson--absurdly high.
Oops, I neglected this thread for a few days. I looked at Vandy's bar pass stats in Florida and like 9/9 or 10/10 of the people who took it last year passed. So yeah, hopefully we continue the 100% bar passage rate trend, haha.

Here you go: http://www.lsac.org/docs/default-source ... ba1871.pdf.

I was off by a bit, actually 16/16 passed last year. So even better. :)

I have been focusing on the MBE mostly (and I killed the BarBri midterm, I was in the 150s) but I am starting to freak because I have not put any serious time into the essays, and I have done the absolute bare minimum as far as they go. Someone please tell me I don't need to freak out at this point and it's recoverable... Please?

Edit edit: Nevermind. Spoke with an upperclassman. Have sufficiently pulled my shit together. It's going to be fine. Study the distinctions, look at tons of the essays, write something down. Apparently, the real graders are pretty lenient and patterns emerge. It'll be okay.

Haha sorry didn't mean to freak you out if I did, but I was definitely freaking out just because I have put in like 5% of the time into the essays that I have put into the MBE.

I think I am going to do something different for the essays than what BarBri tells us to do, because looking at them one at a time with long stretches in between makes it hard to discern patterns. I read through as many Ks essays as I could today and they do just test the same shit over and over. And sorry again if my freakout contributed to your freakout.

Oh and a final thought. Every time I worry about the essays I look at the "model" answers on the bar site and they are a JOKE so I think them being lenient is true.

It's not surpriing that you haven't cleared

I think I submitted in early Feb last yr and I got the all clear around now last yr and I had an unblemished record

I just got my clearance about a week ago. Submitted it early March before the deadline. They spotted an inconsistency w/my law school app that turned out to be moot because I disclosed the inconsistency within my 1L year. I have heard of some horror stories involving character/fitness hearings, needing other atty's to rep. you, etc. Sounds like an awful place to be right around meow.

Glad I'm not the only one! Considering not wasting my time getting it down..a bit worried to do that though b/c they tested secured transactions w/ K for the july 2013 bar..so they could test K with commercial paper for ours..

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
