Does anyone else have some insight into this?homestyle28 wrote:Does anyone have a take on how secure the public "dump your stuff here" areas are/will be? In hindisght I could've brought a few things to the MPRE at Kent and felt fine leaving them. I'd kind of prefer to pack a lunch and be able to otherwise chill rather than going looking for food.

I feel like we're getting some conflicting messages about this dump site. At first they're all "don't even think about the very concept of phones" and then they're like "no you can bring it, just leave it here" and with food it's like "you don't have time to buy lunch, just bring it" but also "you can't access the unsecured stuff pile where you left your lunch (?)"

I agree, I think the safe bet is only bring wallet, keys, laptop (in clear plastic bag, lulz). That's what I'm planning on.Grenadine wrote:I feel like we're getting some conflicting messages about this dump site. Anyone know if we lose points on the MEE for using only IL law and not discussing the majority rule?

I don't know but I would imagine so.bdubs wrote:Anyone know if we lose points on the MEE for using only IL law and not discussing the majority rule?
I also think you might be the only person having this problem right now instead of the reverse.

At the Pavilion, there is seating as you go into the "test area" that is where you put your personal items that you cannot take into the testing area. Honestly it is pretty secure considering it is all in one area and no one is allowed to go in except for test takers and staff.homestyle28 wrote:Does anyone have a take on how secure the public "dump your stuff here" areas are/will be? The Forum there is a room where you put your belongings in it is not the same room as where you take your test but it is secure enough. I never felt that my belongings would be stolen so you'll be fine.
On the first day your laptop is at your seat the whole day so you'll be fine.

ok I may be losing it but people are talking about admission tickets/seat tickets and now I'm not sure if I missed something- we just need an ID (and optional laptop), right?

Yep. You get your ticket at the door by showing a photo ID.Grenadine wrote:ok I may be losing it but people are talking about admission tickets/seat tickets and now I'm not sure if I missed something- we just need an ID (and optional laptop), right?

I wonder if TLS will be deemed an appropriate way to send notice:

Anyone think Illinois will post bar results next week? Say, Oct. 1?

According to all the new attorneys (>2 years) in the office where I intern, results were posted October 1.

That's what I heard too. I just wasn't sure because the IL Board of Admissions wrote: "THIS DOES NOT MEAN THE RESULTS OF THE JULY 2014 BAR EXAMINATION WILL BE RELEASED ON OCTOBER 1, 2014" in their email about updating contact info.jumpingjack wrote:According to all the new attorneys (>2 years) in the office where I intern, results were posted October 1.

Yeah, I've heard from several lawyers that it's usually Oct. 1st as well. Hopefully we'll know by next Friday at the latest.

Yeah, I'm thinking we should definitely know by then (the earlier, the better). It would be nice if they start releasing the results at midnight on Wednesday.Flips88 wrote:Yeah, I've heard from several lawyers that it's usually Oct. 1st as well. Hopefully we'll know by next Friday at the latest.

FYI based on last year's thread looks like things didn't start until 9:30 a.m. and the IL bar's twitter account tweeted that results would start posting too so maybe give them a follow: https://twitter.com/il_bar

Actually, it looks like they started posting at around 7:30am last year. Just curious, what time did you get the email asking you to update your contact info? Also, what was the reference number in the subject line?Flips88 wrote:FYI based on last year's thread looks like things didn't start until 9:30 a.m. and the IL bar's twitter account tweeted that results would start posting too so maybe give them a follow: https://twitter.com/il_bar

Anybody have any over the counter sedative recommendations? I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight

I'll be using my favorite sedative tonight. It's brown, delicious, and goes by "Maker's" by the kids on the street.
