Has anyone gotten an email recently supposedly from Cal Bar with the subject line "Your new Community Password"? At first I thought it was a phishing attempt because it seems very strange and according to Gmail it was sent via a non-Cal Bar domain. But it does take me to what looks like a Cal Bar website.

I’m waiting for my results in the mail. Last time I had a bar list celebration party planned that tanked when my name did not appear. So I’m not doing a count down on Facebook, Twitter, and like this time. Failing is humiliating enough if only I know I failed. Why add to the agony by sounding a trumpet. Plus, this way I can enjoy one more weekend thinking I might have passed. If I fail, I’ll find out by Tuesday, and have two or three days to lick my wounds, wrap myself in sackcloth, and rise again by next weekend for bar prep III.

Good luck to you too! You can fail one or two (sometimes three) essays and still be OK. So no point in thinking about it now.Ciedam08 wrote:hastingsgal wrote:I'm starting to freak out about results coming back. This was my second time taking it. The first time I did pretty well on the MBEs but failed all of the essays. I thought things went much better walking out but now I am second guessing myself. I can't take this a third time!
I’m in the same boat as you! This was my second time, and I felt good walking out of the first day, until I saw all the comments about the first essay. I’m sure I failed that one, because I didn’t know the law on conservatorship... I wish you the best of luck!

Ha ha I did the same thing. I assumed I didn't pass, but I didn't KNOW so my weekend wasn't a bummer.Kentshindig wrote:I’m waiting for my results in the mail. On monday I got that little letter from the bar and I assumed it was some sort of administrative nonsense. I nearly had a heart attack when I opened it and found out I passed.
I sincerely hope you get a little letter on Monday.

Re: 2019 February California Bar
Did you try to register for the July 2019 bar? I was permitted to, and when i checked the verification page it said "Previous Enrollments: You do not have any previous enrollments that have not received grades." I then tried again and the system wouldn't let me and said "You are not permitted to launch this application for the following reason: You already have an application in progress. Please see below." And so i realized it was blocking me from trying again because I had already launched a July 2019 exam registration application which is now visible under "My Applications." If you're altogether being blocked from launching the registration application, then maybe that means you passed?cob2018 wrote:nowyouscantleave wrote:Same here.mande110 wrote:Is anyone else able to register for the July 2019 exam? This does not seem promising...
Mine says “You are not permitted to launch this application for the following reason: You already have an application in progress. Please see below.” But my data was transferred back in February so I don’t think it means anything

Ohhh that’s what happened! Yeah I figured it didn’t mean anything because my data was transferred only back in Februarymycrookedwand wrote:Did you try to register for the July 2019 bar? We won’t be getting actual letters by USPS pass or fail. It’s going to be posted in the Aims applicant account. Was told we would get an email when it’s posted.

Unless they have specifically changed the process results are available online AND you get a letter.Bliss wrote:Kentshindig wrote:I’m waiting for my results in the mail. Good luck everyone. Try to relax today. I've had to live through this day twice waiting on my results, so I know it's easier said than done, but to the extent you're not working or can get away from the office, try to do something you enjoy to pass the time.
Do not read any tea leaves at this point. There is no website or clue or indicator on your applicant profile, or ability or lack thereof to register for the July bar exam or anything else that will signal a pass or fail. All of those myths have been pretty much debunked on here. The only way to know is to wait until right at 6pm (or 5pm? Whatever it is).
Good luck!

Thank you because I am falling into the trap of what people are saying on here. I attempted to register for July and it let me. So I am trying to relax and watch Netflix.JohnnieSockran wrote:Good luck everyone. Try to relax today. When I passed, I was also able to register. Don't read into anything, unless it's the Pass List.Underoath wrote:Thank you because I am falling into the trap of what people are saying on here. Lol, I seriously am trying to figure out what to do with myself! Day drinking came to mind. I wonder why they make us wait all day.mr_pobuho wrote:I plan to have a steady mix of playstation, netflix, and day drinking to get me through.

Historically, do results get posted early or is it 6pm on the dot? Any reason to check in at 4pm etc.?

Re: 2019 February California Bar
The Cal State Bar uses the national MBE mean in the formula to scale essays. Because the mean was higher than last Feb. the essays scores should be higher and maybe result in a higher pass rate. But those essays were difficult, and not knowing what the graders were instructed in their calibration sessions, makes it hard to guess. I have heard other bar prep cos. predict 30%—we will know at 6:00.DodgerBlues1991 wrote:Any guesses on what the passage rate might be? I hope higher than last feb
