Re: NY July 2016 Thread
What was up with NY MEE?! I took Pieper and did prior UBE essays from other states and did pretty well answering those questions, but some of the NY essays were not what I expected based on the prior practice essays I took.
Does anyone know how NY grades their MPT/MEE portion? I went on Seperac and the website seems to indicate it is on a 1-10 scale.

Not a NY taker, MD here--not a UBE state. I have no words. Like none. At one point this random test taker started talking to himself. My meditation only kept me calm through the first half. Again, WTF?!

I'm Themis yeah. None of the prompts were surprising. Maybe a little longer than I expected but I also did all the practice essays online not from the bookmvp99 wrote:Themis?Rahviveh wrote:That was insanely easy. why are you guys trolling?

Am I crazy or was it a 4/2 split instead of 3/3 in favor of MBE subjects?

Yes it was. Which is why it's lulzy to hear people lie and say this was hard.sinfiery wrote:Am I crazy or was it a 4/2 split instead of 3/3 in favor of MBE subjects?
Even one of the MEE essays was mostly agency and also BSable. The sectrans one was tricky but you could get lots of points just doing the basics.

I don't know maybe it could be me remembering only the tough parts but I never felt like this on any essay question before and I usually score above passing with time to spare.Rahviveh wrote:Yes it was. Not an expert, but I have more tact than people coming in here screeching and scaring the shit out of everyone. You all did fine. There were literally people in that room that couldn't speak English.Br3v wrote:We get it, you're a MEE expert. Have some tact bro
Also my point is that there were only 2 MEE essays. No need to be an expert to do well.

Don't overreact. The overwhelming consensus was that the MEE was ridiculous and that the first MPT was impossible to organize. Scale will likely be upward!

Oh, and for those wondering, the split was 5 MBE to 2 MEE. One of the MBE essays contained two topics.

How exactly does scaling work? Is it predetermined, or if they deem enough people screw up, more leeway is given?whitecollar23 wrote:Don't overreact. The overwhelming consensus was that the MEE was ridiculous and that the first MPT was impossible to organize. Scale will likely be upward!

Based on what I read, it's scaled to align with the MBE, either up or down depending on the average performance in relation to the MBE.reasonableperson wrote:How exactly does scaling work?
