I feel eerily calm about the approaching bar. Not sure if I'll be getting on board of the freak-out train in the coming days, but right now I wish the CA bar was in a week instead of 12 days :?

Is it just me or the Barbri schedule has become even more impossible to complete? :?

I've been keeping up, but definitely looking forward to having next week off from work so I can concentrate solely on BARBRI... Going to do the Refresher when I get home from work, but probably no videos after that. Might be pretty selective on which videos I watch, as I have the notes from the videos from this past summer, and I really doubt they're different questions.

This. I just said to my friends last night that I'm starting to freak out that I'm not freaking out lol... Kind of ignoring it and still studying as if I know nothing. Hopefully the feeling is a good thing and not just false confidence!

Anyone else feel pretty good about the exam, but have that fear that on exam day, you're going to sit down and look like a deer in headlights? Like the stuff youre reading just looks so unfamiliar and you have no idea what the answer is?

I feel that way big time.

Yes. 100% Yes. That's why I'm looking at as many essays as I can to try and get familiar with anything that they throw at me. That's the theory behind it at least lol

54 on the refresher :( But the worst part is I do very similarly in each subject, which makes it even more difficult to improve :(
Should I just forget about the MBE and spend the time that's left concentrating on the essays?

Guys, relax about the MBE refresher. You're expected to get 50-60 right because it's supposed to be extremely difficult.

I'm taking the refresher when I get home from work, but from what I remember, they only want you to get 55 or so, right? If that's the case, you're where they want you to be!

Yup. Taking it tomorrow and already have my mind made up that I will not stress if I bomb it. It's not representative of the real exam at all. I'm doing it mostly for stamina-building, and secondarily to maybe pick up a few obscure rules/laws.

This is literally the only reason I'm doing it... I already accidentally took two full length MBEs on consecutive days, so I think stamina is spoken for lol

When you guys say MBE refresher, do you mean the mixed MBE sets? Or is it something else that I'm missing?

There's a 100 question "MBE Refresher" in the back of the MPQ... It's assigned for today for me (NY)

Does anyone else get these weird "black holes" in memory when it comes to certain portions of a subject?

Let's take federal civil procedure. I feel like I could write the crap out of an essay that deals with PJ, SMJ, Venue, service of process, 12(b) pleadings.

But from that point on it just becomes this blur. Discovery rules? Something something, required disclosure, something something interrogatories, 20 max? 25? 30? Respond to certain things in how many days? Scope? Sanctions? Some sort of conference meeting?

I've got the same civ pro black hole. Haven't been able to get it to stick yet. I have a similar issue with the First Amendment - just something about the rules that make them hard to memorize for me.

I DEFINITELY have the black holes. I find that the Barbri AMPs kinda help in that respect. They literally make you cover the rules over and over again so eventually you will get it lol

I think Wills is pretty straightforward. Just remember the rules for intestate succession, lost wills, pretermitted children, who gets what when beneficiaries disclaim, holographic wills, and all the administration stuff.

Trusts is definitely more difficult. It seems like they like to test a lot on trustee misconduct, cy pres stuff, and spendthrift clauses

68/100 on the refresher... Definitely a lot of convoluted, ass-backwards shit I really doubt they'll ever ask on the real deal, but glad I did it. Straight up whiffed on about 4 or 5 though.

I continue to think these things are only to scare the living shit out of us for the last week and a half.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
