I feel like I knew all this stuff at some time point during these past 10 weeks. Don't know if I still do.

I'm feeling the same way. Know I should stop studying but I'm afraid to. Amazing what I have forgotten.

I feel really weird being in a hotel room now. I feel out of my comfort zone, and like I've forgotten everything because of it - which is irrational.

A hearsay source has informed me that every year a third of test takers quit and leave before the test is over. If you make it through all 2/3 days, you'll pass.

I did just read something recently where someone said easily a third of the people in her test center disappeared by day 3 in CA.

I guess the million dollar question is whether the people that bail are included in the pass/fail statistics. Let's hope so, haha.mushybrain wrote:I did just read something recently where someone said easily a third of the people in her test center disappeared by day 3 in CA.

I knew people in February who backed out of the Texas bar the week of the test. I can't imagine. You don't even get a refund, so you might as well just do it.

Yeah I hope so! I would think so as long as they showed up to part of it so they had something to grade. If they just didn't show up for any of it then I could see that not counting as a fail for their stats.RaleighStClair wrote:I guess the million dollar question is whether the people that bail are included in the pass/fail statistics. Maybe they did so well knowing their 2/3 score will carry them through, so they dropped mic and walked away.Neff wrote:A hearsay source has informed me that every year a third of test takers quit and leave before the test is over. If you make it through all 2/3 days, you'll pass.

Texas has a limit on retakes. And while I can't imagine taking it 5 times, if you're that completely unsure then maybe you would.ladylawyer1221 wrote:I knew people in February who backed out of the Texas bar the week of the test. I imagine this has to be in one of those difficult states. I don't see any reason to walk out of a UBE exam.

That seems insanely high. Even 10% seems high.Neff wrote:A hearsay source has informed me that every year a third of test takers quit and leave before the test is over. If you make it through all 2/3 days, you'll pass.

Re-reading the civil procedure rules for my state and freaking out. There are so many fucking dates to keep track of.

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
I was registered to take the Texas bar last July since I graduated 2014 but then delayed it for a year for other reasons. But because of the retake policy I just faxed them and said I wouldn't be sitting for it. Yeah, I lost the fee (which is entirely too high) but it didn't count as a failure either.ladylawyer1221 wrote:I knew people in February who backed out of the Texas bar the week of the test. Lots of Texas stuff seems to be 14 or 30 days. If I have no clue I'm just mentally flipping a coin and picking one of those. Too many weird timelines to remember (like pleas in bar which must be made "By 10:00AM on the first Monday after the expiration of 20 days from the date the defendant was served with process"; no way I'm remembering that come tomorrow).3|ink wrote:Re-reading the civil procedure rules for my state and freaking out. The thought of writing six essays tomorrow.
And was bummed to find out today that we can't take in ANY kind of food or drink. Not even water. Ugh.
Thank god this hell is almost over. And we're gonna #ownthebar.

So as previously mentioned, my state has a dress code. You have to come in a full suit and tie.
But wait. It gets even more absurd. The instructions say we're not allowed to bring any items not included on a list of allowed items. Umbrellas are not included on the list. We also are not allowed to bring backpacks or any sort of case to carry our laptops.
There's a 50% chance of rain tomorrow. So there's a 50% chance that a lot of people are going to have ruined suits and laptops.

If you can remember the 10 AM Monday part (and there really are lots of attorneys hanging around the courthouse 10 AM Monday to try to get defaults for their clients), then just remember the federal rule (answer deadline 21 days after service), you'll probably be able to hammer out the entire rule.jamescastle wrote: Lots of Texas stuff seems to be 14 or 30 days. are the essay rubrics really as harsh as barbri ones? I wonder if you get points for addressing and analyzing issues closely related to the one you were supposed to spot...

I'm sure you do. Especially if you're using the facts in the way one would if they got the right rule.victortsoi wrote:are the essay rubrics really as harsh as barbri ones? I wonder if you get points for addressing and analyzing issues closely related to the one you were supposed to spot...
