What was the consensus on property dude? I think his silly comments make the lecture more bearable, on the other hand, I just want to get through it. He's also very true to the handout, which is nice. I remember why I enjoyed the property treehouse though.

Have y'all been doing the ungraded essays?
I'm trying to catch up but now my tasks are filled with essays and so it's clogging up my "today to-do list" but I feel like I just need to power through these lectures so I'm more caught up or the future graded essays and milestone exams.

Torts is the one subject, I feel, that you don't have to crumple your brain into an obtuse thought process to arrive at the solution. It's like with Torts, you just have to think logically instead of thinking like a lawyer (terrible explanation, I know).AlanShore wrote:This happens to me.. I've been doing them, but instead of writing out a long essay for 45 min, just doing bullet points. So my format would look like below:
C: (1 sentence conclusion)
R: Res Ipsa Loq is .... (Write out the rule, helps with memorization)
A:
-Can't normally occur w/o neg
-P was unconscious, so couldn't have acted
-Mary had exclusive control of the scissor left in plaintiff
-Mary and D's are joint/sev liable
-P could sue mary, mary's assistant, doctor x, etc.
C: 1 sentence concluding
I've been able to do the essays in about half time following this method. Saves about 20-30 minutes each time, but ymmv. Some people I'm sure like to write them all out, but for me, as long as I'm understanding, I'm not going to waste time making complete sentences/grammar/etc.

Still just barely hitting the target scores for PQs. Also, at least for Ks, they seem to be making a point of including issues not covered by the lecture. I couldn't even find the section in the big outline on auctions.
Beer time.

Same on the PQs. My Civ Pro PQs on the first two 17 problem sets were abysmal. I did a bunch of outline/handout review in the two intervening days and brought it up to a reasonable (within goal) of 58%. But still, sheesh.Easy-E wrote:Still just barely hitting the target scores for PQs. Also, at least for Ks, they seem to be making a point of including issues not covered by the lecture. The auction thing keeps coming up in this thread, and I agree, it definitely does seem like it's a random topic that's rarely actually tested. But it's not like the auction rules are especially out there or very long. The auction rules are like 3/4 of a page in the outline, and it's all pretty common sense:
- Goods are offered in lots and each lot is a separate sale
- Auction sale is complete when auctioneer says it's over. If a bid is made at the same time, the auctioneer can do what she wants, treat it like a sale or disregard the bid
- If it's a reserve auction, auctioneer can withdraw at any time before completion. Reserve auctions are the default
- No-reserve auction, goods can't be withdrawn unless bids aren't received in a reasonable time
- Bidders can retract bids until auctioneer announces that it's over, and retractions don't revive earlier bids
- If the seller bids in the auction to drive the price up and the auctioneer colludes, the winner can get the item at the last good faith bid price. Except in forced sales or if the seller gives notice that they're bidding

There was a tiny section on Auctions and Ctrl-F was the quickest way to find it. I have found the search function for the online outlines save sooo much time

i thought crim pro was fine. semi-related, if you're ever a criminal defendant, you may not want her as your lawyer since every case of hers that she mentioned resulted in a shitty rule for defendantsunidentifiable wrote:yeah, she's good. but she was not as good with crim pro. skipped around on those blanks. was still to get them, but she didn't spoonfeed.crimlaw lady has her sh*t together. best lecturer so far, imo.
edit: Gonzalez-Lopez = sole mentioned victory

So I wasn't able to get to the graded torts essay yesterday (not sure when it was originally on the schedule) and instead of just pushing it today, it's kicked it down to next Wednesday. Seems weird? I wonder how it decides where to move things when you go off schedule (slack off).

Also, how many people are actually making their own shorter outlines? I'm wondering if it's actually worth it, considering they also provide those short FROs.

Yes, property was before torts for me.
I'm making my own short outlines. What are FROs?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
