In case you're feeling extra-anxious, I'd like to share my newest tale to [perhaps] make you feel better, and perhaps you'll even get a giggle:

I was scheduled to fly to Albany tomorrow morning (Monday) from Dallas for the exam Tuesday. My flight was scheduled to leave at 6am Monday, arriving in Albany around 1pm. I didn't plan to fly out Sunday, because 3 nights in a hotel is expensive enough.

Anyway, at 9pm Sunday, I received an email that my flight was cancelled.

Not delayed. CANCELLED. 9 hours in advance, due to "severe weather"...." where? Who's to say... I have been religiously checking the weather forecast in every major city along my flight route for a week. Nothing. [I have a sneaking suspicion it had a little something to do with the abundance of empty seats on my flight as of noon Sunday.]

To be clear: I live in Texas. Driving to Albany, New York would take me 1 day and 2 hours. But alas, I Google-mapped the shit out of the driving options.

Luckily, I just spent 50 minutes on the phone with a customer service representative. I have a new flight. God-willing I will be in Albany tomorrow by 2pm. If you're staying at the Best Western Sovereign--holla! Post-exam bevs Wednesday eve.*

*pending my eventual arrival in the capital city...

Mouse due : I stayed at this hotel last february. It's a great choice. There will be plenty of tests takers.

I assume you don't have a car since you 're flying. The hotel offers a shuttle that will drive you (and other tests takers) to the test center. It was $15 per ride. There is a nice CVS just next to the hotel if u want to buy some shits for tomorrow. There is also a pizza hut. The hotel also has a mexican restaurant with a hot bartender as well. I remember drinking a pint of beer after the last day of the exam, it was well deserved.

hope you'll make it to Albany on time.

So what's the deal with water? Does it need to be like, translucent? Or am I gonna be fine with a nalgene or something that's clear but blue.

I'm bringing a blue translucent water bottle. I hope that's okay. It has a little grip on it, but I hope that's okay. It technically meets all the requirements for that vague description they gave us. If not, I'll just buy a water bottle from like Duane Reade.

Where is the Empire State Plaza Concourse Level? there is no single building when I search on google maps and the coordinates given also lead to an open plaza.

Are we allowed to fold the admission ticket? I sorta remember reading somewhere that we can't, but that might just be a made up memory.

All I read is that you can't write on it, but I don't recall anything on folding it. I think you have to fold it to fit in the baggie.

So I think the reason medication must be in the original bottle is because you can't legally carry prescribed medication outside the pill bottle without a doctor's note.

Does that mean Advil, vitamins, and the-like can be carried on their own? I can't fit so many bottles into one giant bag!

I have a Driver's License question.

I'm taking the exam in the Javits Center. Went to school out of state, but got NYC test site because I'm co-signed on my wife's NYC lease.

Still haven't bothered to get a NY driver's license, though. Will it be a problem if I show up with an out-of-state ID for the NYC site?

Driver's license from any state, territory and/or possession of the United States of America is permitted. If you are a non U.S. citizen without a Government issued ID, you must show your passport...

They won't care. At all. As long as it's valid gov't issued ID, they give 0 Fs.

IMPORTANT PSA:

YOU MUST BRING YOUR LAW FIRM BAG/SATCHEL TO THE HOTEL so everyone knows you have an offer at X firm. Remember to carry it with the name facing outside so everyone can read it. Otherwise, you won't get any prestige points.

Of course my laundry room gets flooded for the first time ever the night before the exam when I'm halfway into doing my laundry. Oh, and my clothes for tomorrow were in that load. NOOOOO!
