I noticed that update on Friday of last week. So yes, before today.gtg wrote:"Bar Exam: Registration for July 2016 Bar Exam closes on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:59 PM ET.

Yeah it's been there for a bit now... I honestly just want them now. I just want to know... I'm still hopeful, which is good in my book, but would like to know one way or another.Worthless1 wrote:I noticed that update on Friday of last week. The deadline to register for the NYLE is tomorrow. Do you think there's any correlation/impact on the release of bar exam results?NY_Sea wrote:Yeah it's been there for a bit now... Will that be extended also for those who don't pass? I know they offer 14 days to register for July -- but what about the May NYLE?

Re: NY Bar Feb Exam: Support Group
The NYLE is offered in May, August, October and December. There are seperate deadlines for each. My guess is, much like the MPRE, if you miss one deadline, you can just simply apply to the next exam.NYNY65 wrote:Will that be extended also for those who don't pass? But let's not get ahead of ourselves here

*fingers crossed*

Re: NY Bar Feb Exam: Support Group
This sucks. In between the July and Feb bar exams I took another exam where they disclosed the exact day results would be released three weeks beforehand. It had me dreading that day like no other...but it was much better than living in constant fear like I am right now. I just looked up and read about the UBE in preparation for the worst. It does not seem as bad as what some of us had to go through twice already. I am pretty sure I don't want to be a lawyer anymore (although it would be nice to have the option)....it will just be embarrassing to have to tell people i failed AGAIN...and what will bug me the most...is all the time I put into this GD exam that feels like the most random "standardized" exam I have taken.

Re: NY Bar Feb Exam: Support Group
I get that. But if I'm taking the July UBE (NY), I'd prefer to take the NYLE at end of May instead of in August. So I'm wondering if the 14 day 'extension' applies to both the July UBE and May NYLE.

I was wondering that too.NYNY65 wrote:I get that. But if I'm taking the July UBE (NY), I'd prefer to take the NYLE at end of May instead of in August. So I'm wondering if the 14 day 'extension' applies to both the July UBE and May NYLE.
Here is info about the UBE and the new requirements for admission:
https://www.nybarexam.org/TheBar/NYBarE ... nGuide.pdf
Says for the NYLE: You must complete the NYLE up to one year prior to or three years after passing the
UBE. You must complete the NYLC prior to applying for the NYLE.
Says for the NYLC: You must complete the NYLC up to one year prior to or three years after passing the UBE.
So I think the May deadline is too late for us unless we don't pass...within a year. If we pass, we have to register for the course within three years of passing the UBE. That's my understanding anyway.

Side note: When I failed last October, Adele's "Hello" was everywhere. I now cannot stand listening to that song for one second. Now here goes Beyonce, dropping a new album around the same crucial time and I'm trying my best not to listen to it right now for fear of the same thing happening.
Just another wonderful way our minds can be twisted/stressed during this time.

I hear ya. I'm from a (slightly) older generation, and I'm more of a "classic rock fan," but Tom Petty's "The Waiting" is my current earworm (seems like I have heard it quite a bit on the radio lately too). If I don't pass, I won't ever want to hear that one again.NM7 wrote:Side note: When I failed last October, Adele's "Hello" was everywhere. I now cannot stand listening to that song for one second. Personally I was listening to "How to save a life " The fray. At least I was in the right mood after opening the bad news email

Seriously, i'm deeply scared.
I really hope we are all gonna pass. It's funny how I think about NY_Sea and everyone else on the thread when I think about the bar, hoping that you guys will make it this time (and so do I ! )

It really is kind of great how for all the misery this test brings, it really does bring people together... We're all in this same boat and we're all cheering each other on.iwantmybar wrote:Haha.NM7 wrote:Side note: When I failed last October, Adele's "Hello" was everywhere. Re: NY Bar Feb Exam: Support Group
If it's any solace, when I failed Feb. 2015 the Neo-Pitbull "Time of Our Lives" song was really big, and after I failed I couldn't even hear one second of the song before having to switch the radio station. When I passed, I made a point to make it the first song I played and now I only associate good feelings with the song.NM7 wrote:Side note: When I failed last October, Adele's "Hello" was everywhere. Does notification come by email or is it posted on the BOLE site first?

For July results, the way it went was that emails were supposedly coming out at midnight... People waited for it, but there was also a link on the BOLE site to look up your results with your BOLE ID and date of birth. So I knew I failed before I even got the email.rntojd wrote:Does notification come by email or is it posted on the BOLE site first?
I would imagine that there would be something like that again, but don't know for sure.

Do you know where I could find that Link? It doesn't appear to be the "past exam lookup" link.NY_Sea wrote:For July results, the way it went was that emails were supposedly coming out at midnight... They only put it up once the scores are released... Trust me, if there was a way that I could get any inkling on how I did, I would've already done it lolscaliaantics wrote:Do you know where I could find that Link? Re: NY Bar Feb Exam: Support Group
I am furiously trying to keep busy at work. However, the one chance I had to let my mind take a break, I became flooded with thoughts that there is a very high chance that today is a day of reckoning. I was perfectly content with pushing this off in my head knowing that I will have to deal with bad/good emotions on another day. It just hit me hard that if the results do come out at 5pm, I will be at work when it does.
In July, someone was able to get the scoop on the fact that the results were coming out at midnight. Does anyone remember how long in advance that information was leaked? Also, does anyone know if the same leak occurs for the Feb exam results?

Re: NY Bar Feb Exam: Support Group
I am trying to stay focused on work today, but am failing miserably. And I am up against a deadline, which the anxiety is not helping. Fortunately, I am working from home today, so if the results come in at 5 today, I won't be far from my liquor cabinet, and can choose my poison based on whether I am celebrating or drowning my sorrows.d_sat wrote:I am furiously trying to keep busy at work. I am really hoping we all did it. NY Sea and other re-takers, I am especially pulling for you guys.

I seriously hope we all pass.
Thank you guys for the past few weeks, the comments, the messages. Just reading you, seeing that I wasn't the only one freaking out really helped.
Hopefully it will all be positive, and celebration drinks!

I called this morning. They are not extending the NYLE deadline for May for reapplicants.

I don't want to scare anybody but last year they released the Feb results on 4/27(monday) on 5 p.m. There is a good chance that it may be released today.

I'm going to hit some golf balls at the range after work... My phone will be in my golf bag, that way if we do get the results and they don't go my way, at least my swing won't get affected (as if it's any good as it is).
Once again, hoping for nothing but the best for all of us!!
