Over 8 weeks left in Cali. I honestly don't know why Biggie ever came back :([/quote]

That's harsh! Is Cali the last state to come in then?
Do ye have a set date? NY just spring it on you!

Although I did not take the CBX, I did go to law school there and know a lot about it. The CBX does give a definitive release date. November 20, 2015 at 6 PM. Such a very long wait! :(

And don't freak out when you see some vague red-colored message on your computer screen that says, "This name appears to be on the pass list." I remember when I passed CBX years ago, I almost had a heart attack looking at the red color and read that shit over and over till it finally settled in. lol

That is beyond cruel. I would definitely be freaking out before reading what it actually said.

Edit to note that a friend's screenshot for the "pass screen" for February 2015 has the text in green letters so I think the powers that be came to their senses.

If anyone is interested in the NCBE's policy justification for not releasing raw MBE scores, see their response to my inquiry below:

"The reason NCBE does not release raw scores is because the exam is standardized. This means raw scores are converted to scaled scores, which are constant across exam administrations. Which is to say, if you receive a scaled score of 133 on the MBE in February of 2013, with the same amount of studying and knowledge you should receive a 133 scaled score in July of 2015.

While the scaled scores are consistent across exam administrations, the raw scores vary. This is due to many factors, including difficulty of the specific exam administration or changes in the applicant pool for that administration. Using the aforementioned example, the scaled score of 133 in February 2012 might correspond with a raw score of 80, whereas the scaled score of 133 in July 2015 corresponds with a raw score of 100. These numbers are purely hypothetical to demonstrate the point, which is that because of the variation in raw scores, they are not a very clear indicator of performance. More plainly, knowing your raw score from an exam does not tell you much about your performance, especially relative to the passing scaled score for a jurisdiction.

If you would like to read further on the value of scaled scores as opposed to raw scores I suggest this article from the Bar Examiner.

http://www.ncbex.org/pdfviewer/?file=%2 ... column.pdf"

Knowing my raw score might not tell me much about my performance, but it might shed light on how bullshit some (most) of the questions were.

Lol-- absolutely. It's really frustrating that in Oregon you don't even get your scaled score on the MBE or any information whatsoever about the essays or MPTs if you pass (although I of course prefer that to the alternative).

Just got my actual scores. Took Kaplan, scored 121 on midterm and 126 on final. Got a 152 on the actual MBE. So my bump was a little more than Kaplan predicted, but I'm not complaining. Good luck to the rest of you.

Oh and ill say again, I felt like I was guessing on like 60% of the test. Only felt like I "knew" 15 questions on each side.

I love getting that good Kaplan news ;)

Congrats again, FL!

I found this to be rather interesting:

PASSED Florida here, and I just received my results today. I am posting my results because this website has been very helpful during my waiting time.
I took Barbri and scored 138 in the midterm, and I was scoring between 60% to 70% in the other set of questions.
Florida 158 / MBE 159
About the test, I felt that it was brutal and really hard; I was not sure about any answer, and guessing was my pattern. I had a lot of Ds in my morning section, but not in the afternoon section. I think that the afternoon section was much harder. Ah, English is my second language if this also encourages other people.
Thanks,

Ya this was clear to me when I was talking to someone in between AM and PM and I asked about questions that they knew nothing about.

As promised, I'm following up with my actual score now that I have my letter with the breakdown:

Scores: 159 state portion (FL) /155 MBE

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, but to reiterate now: I did Barbri and scored a 120 on the midterm. I was scoring around 70% +/- on the MBE practice questions near the end of the course.

I left the exam feeling like I had failed -- and I'm usually not much of an alarmist. I also had a ridiculous number of "D" answers, including a bunch in a row in the last column of one of the sessions (I think AM?).

Congrats to all who have passed and best of luck to those still waiting!

Ya this was clear to me when I was talking to someone in between AM and PM and I asked about questions that they knew nothing about.
My seat neighbors talked to one another after each portion "in detail" how they answered each section. She was discussing with her seat-mate about some MBE questions that I didn't have. Indicating it had to be a tester.

I talk with attorneys here at the office about the record low MBE (one took in 1988 so he was curious why it was low in 2015) but I wonder based on BarBri, Kaplan, Themis and Adaptibar how their nationwide scores (or individual state scores) match with the NCBE national average.

For example, I took a screenshot of my Adaptibar stats that compare to CA takers on MBE day in February and in July. California is usually higher than the national average. Feb 2015 it was 60.857% and in July it was 61.428%. Adaptibar users averaged around 850 released/retired NCBE questions. (my numbers aren't scaled but someone could figure the math out I suppose). Also Adaptibar Civ pro were brutal and the average was in the 48% ballpark for CA. Adaptibar claims to have a 96% accuracy rate or so I heard.

I throw this out because those of us who practiced with released/retired MBE questions felt the real one didn't have the same feel this July. IMO, Feb 2015 did feel like what I practiced. However, if the national average for Adaptibar, BarBri, Kaplan, Themis and is equal to the NCBE then I suppose it is the examinee's and not the test.

Just for fun and to kill the time before the results. For the July 2014 California Bar Exam, there was a performance test question regarding camping and glamping. Below is a a link that talks about glamping.

UBE state. 148 raw Bar Bri midterm. 166.8 MBE scaled score. 333 total UBE score. Got the string of Ds in am and thought test was harder than practice.

I got a 140 something on the Barbri midterm - I don't remember the exact number, to be honest. Took the FL bar. 150 FL/ 153 MBE scaled. I was very sick on both days of the test and it got to me mentally, so I was surprised I passed. I think I would have done better if I hadn't spent appx 10 minutes per session in the bathroom sick. Thought the MBE was extremely difficult. I also had a longggg string of Ds in the morning.

Good luck to all those still waiting on results.
