I got like a 102 on barbri's simulated MBE. Freaking out. Is it worth buying Kaplan's Q bank. I mean Barbri has us doing maybe 200 more MBE questions before game day.

Are they real bar questions? I want to practice with some real bar questions as well...jarofsoup wrote:I got like a 102 on barbri's simulated MBE. Freaking out. Is it worth buying Kaplan's Q bank. I mean Barbri has us doing maybe 200 more MBE questions before game day.

No they are pmbr, which is better. Everyone doing Kaplan is like cruising at like 70% averages. All the people I know in barbri are doing way shitty % wise.eng2law wrote:Are they real bar questions? Ok, thanks. Sorry can't help you with your decision, but if I do spend any more, I'm probably going to on real bar questions. I have been doing only a couple of MBE question sets for each topic in Barbri anyway.jarofsoup wrote:No they are pmbr, which is better. Everyone doing Kaplan is like cruising at like 70% averages. Re: California Bar Exam (July 2014) thread
The CA bar website says that our lunch break is approximately two hours.
BUT friends who have taken the bar before tell me that their lunch was one hour.
So what is it? this is a big deal to me because I know I will be mentally fatigued after the morning MBE session so the length of the break will make a big difference in my performance.

1230 to 130 but 145 they star and 200 is the real time. During lunch walking or not eating at all is good for pt.gothamm wrote:The CA bar website says that our lunch break is approximately two hours.

I'm doing Kaplan and got a 102 as well on our practice exam so there's no magical Kaplan 70%+ guarantee or anything.eng2law wrote:Ok, thanks. I asked our Kaplan rep about real MBE Qs and she said most of the released qs are from the 90s and they speficially say "don'tuse these to study because we are no longer using this format"
But check the NCBE website to see which MBE Qs are available and whether they carry the same don't use for study warning.

Was Feb 2014 passing score writing 60 mbe 130 raw? Is it same as July? Was last year's July passing score writing 60 mbe 130 raw?

Re: California Bar Exam (July 2014) thread
Just checked my simulated MBE results on Barbri. Got 110/200 (55%) which is apparently like the bottom 70%. Am I in deep shit/need to just lock myself in a room for the next month?
Evidence and Torts are my clear weak spots. I know I can lock down Torts when I actually pay attention and learn the material. Evidence is going to be an up-hill battle for sure.
Edit: Should also note that I comfortably passed the graded CPT and have felt pretty good doing the essays for most subjects. So I'm not freaking out in that department as much.

If you know E and T are your weak spots, then you just need to treat them by doing drills and reviewing ALL answer explanations thoroughly. By that I mean choices A through D for questions you get right and wrong.Anonnn wrote:Just checked my simulated MBE results on Barbri. Got 110/200 (55%) which is apparently like the bottom 70%. Math ain't my thing, but what exactly is bottom 70%? A 119 or 120 would have put you at the 50% mark, where you would be better than 50% of the people who took the test. So 110 isn't that far off.Anonnn wrote:Just checked my simulated MBE results on Barbri. Got 110/200 (55%) which is apparently like the bottom 70%. They individually email you when they post the grade. People get them at different times but if it has been more than 6 days then I'd contact them.jarofsoup wrote:Haven't gotten a grade back yet. Have they posted them already?

I hate that I have to learn CA CP even tho it's never been tested and likely won't be on the test. What a waste of time.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
