Believe me, I did this enough times, I know the system now pretty well.

Also, follow Justice Willet on twitter, he always drops the hint on the bar exam release day.

Thanks for the twitter heads up.

Apparently the 84th Texas Legislative Session repealed the attorney occupation tax effective September 1, 2015. The fee is just the supreme ct. dues of $78 and legal service fee of $65 (same link).

So the big question is: When can we practice?

Pay the fee and swear in (either through regular or expedited). Licenses are issued by TX Supreme Ct. Clerk's office. According to them, "After your fees have been accepted, your license should be mailed within 6-8 weeks."

Surely we don't have to wait 6-8 weeks to practice?

You pay your fees online, and then you have your bar number, once you have your bar number you can practice, the license is just a big pretty thing to hang on your wall, they also send you a gold card with your bar license number on it.

Technically you need to be sworn in to practice, but in Texas any notary public can swear you in and it doesn't have to be a judge. Once you pay your fees you can print the oath and have them sign it.

So I was one of lazy people who didn't do the declaration 1L year, and instead did both the declaration and the app this year. I sent both in time.

However, I have yet to hear a peep. Are we supposed to get some sort of confirmation that everything is good to go on that end? Or no?

Sent mine in 1L and haven't heard a thing. I guess no news is good news.

I can't speak for what happens if you do the app and bar same year, but I sent mine in during 1L and got a letter back 9 months later that I'd cleared the investigative stage.

Felt sheer panic with just seeing the latest email from Ble in my inbox. I think I'm losing my mind. **sigh**

My brain agrees with you, but my heart and stomach react to any BLE email with sheer panic. Lol.

My coworkers have put a countdown on the dry erase board of the # of days left until results are posted. And I am the only person in this group that went to law school and took the bar. I work in a corporate job, 9/80 schedule, and took every Monday and Friday off to study for the Bar. I also maxed out my vacation and took the last two weeks off to study and take the exam. Needless to say I hope I don't have to max out my vacation at the beginning of the year to take the exam again. Having no vacation sucks!

And my foot (pulledAchilles' tendon) still hasn't healed from the the first exam. **sigh**

I'm with you! I'm terrified of having to take it again because I don't have any vacation time. I worked full time all 3.5 years of law school, so it was nearly impossible to save up any vacation time. I only had 1 week of PTO left by summer and had to save it for the week of the bar :(

.... I did, however, already put in my time for next Thursday. I have big plans of sitting on my couch with a bottle of wine clicking refresh until i either cry, pass out, throw up, or a combination of all 3.

Haha yup same story in regards to working full-time. I was happy (limited happiness) when the BLE said 11/6 since that is my off Friday but that limited happiness soon dissipated when I learned that we actually find out Thursday. Since I have no vacation, I'm thinking of taking off the day unpaid, or convince my manager to have our meeting at a bar (has happened before)....lol

Do you have the option to "complete your re-application" in your efast account? I just checked mine and this is a new option...hoping it's not a sign :?

I don't think it's a sign. I think it was there the last time they sent the email out.

Not a sign, believe me I checked for everything, there is no way to know if you passed or failed the bar until this link comes live:

I predict Wednesday. If we're still waiting by this time next week, I'll be pulling my hair out, and I don't have that much.
