Yea New York was tough. I passed with a scaled 133 MBE. Felt really great about the essays/MPT on Day 1, wanted to cry after Day 2.

Post here for posterity that you don't need the "140 average" or whatever number in that range that floats around TLS to pass in NY. Just make sure you are comfortable with New York law and review a ton of those past essays *for style/format* if near exam day you're still feeling uncomfortable with your MBE practice scores.

Emory seems largely responsible for the drop. They went from 96.5% passing to 87%. Weird.

Passed the NY Bar with a [low] scaled MBE. I'm guessing those essays were my saving grace.

It looks like rates will continue to drop across the country.

Well that's an advertisement for a bar review company that specializes in retakers?

It suggests that the lower pass rates are due to the UBE. I don't know much about the UBE but how many states remaining are UBE states?

Feeling good about MD based on the NY passes....people passing with scaled MBEs around 130....I feel like historically the two states have had comparable scales and pass rates. Fingers crossed!!! Feel like I'm going crazy waiting....

I am literally going out of my mind. It sucks that Maryland never posts early either.

LOL at the ridiculous advertising. Even some of their numbers are wrong. PA didn't drop 7% from July 2013 to July 2014. It dropped 1.81%.

If anyone is keeping track, MA was 76.2% passing total, 82.3% first-time takers. Not sure how that compares to past years.

I passed the NY Bar with a 137.5 scaled MBE. While not a "bad" MBE score, its not as high as some of the others I've seen in this thread, so will assume that my essays helped push me over the top. Having said that, I was a little shocked (although obviously thrilled) with my results. I worked full time this summer as a law clerk, while taking an online Kaplan bar review course (I finished about 75% of the course). The MBE seemed pretty difficult, although I was able to narrow things down to two choices for the more difficult problems; while only 10% of the exam, I think I did surprisingly well on the NYS specific multiple choice questions. The essays weren't necessarily bad, but there was a considerable amount of trusts problems, which is a subject that I was not all too prepared for.

Congrats to everyone who passed this go around, and best of luck to those who will retake in February!

BAH!

The MD bar results page was updated with new information (NOT scores), but when I looked it still gave me a heart attack. Still nothing different on the application page if anyone is curious, haha.

Annnnd now the exam results page looks the same as it did before.

What is the new information? I don't see anything different.

For a short time (until my edit to my first post), there was a new box that had links to information for the PR class, explanation of grading (with only the formula for Feb 2014 though: http://www.courts.state.md.us/ble/pdfs/ ... 201407.pdf), and passer's obligations. Same empty grid lines though. Now its gone.

So...now I'm just rapidly spinning out of control. Fun fact--I just looked up the Feb. 2014 sheet and the numbers are different from the one on that PDF I link to before--I think those are the July numbers.

Feb 2014 numbers:
http://www.mdcourts.gov/ble/pdfs/passin ... 201402.pdf

July 2014 "Feb" numbers:
http://www.courts.state.md.us/ble/pdfs/ ... 201407.pdf

Looks like a typo for the July sheet and the numbers listed are ours.

Oh my god. I can't believe you found this (really glad you did). I am literally punching in every possible number I can to see what my chances are of passing.
