Pretty sure you'd double it. It should say something about how good your score was (e.g. Mine said "Passing" on the page where I downloaded my comments, and I got a 65 as the score).
PSA: There's a thread for Barbri specific stuff over here...

Hm. Mine didn't say pass but was a 70 so I'm going with I'm an idiot but ok.
Thx for the PSA, and the calming of my nuts-ness (real word. That I made up.)

A 70 is a very good score coming from barbri, and is above passing. Why did you think you failed it?

Seriously disregard that comment-most people are taking barbri. It's way easier to have all this stuff in the one bar thread that's consistently active. If the question isn't applicable to you, you can always scroll down and disregard...

Uhh, you should probably go into that thread and make that announcement there, then, because that thread is very active and there's a lot of information in there that might be helpful to people here. I wasn't telling her to be pissy about her (or anyone else's) posting about Barbri in this thread (but thanks for jumping to the worst conclusion about my motivations!), but because I was letting people here know that there is stuff in that thread they may find helpful that they would otherwise be missing out on. So if you really want it all in one thread you should go there and tell everyone in that thread they are doing it wrong...

How altruistic of you...idk what us dummies would do wo your PSA. There's no need for any announcements on any forums, people can go on any bar related forum and discuss what they want-people will either respond or they won't. We'll all survive wo your policing.

It's not policing and while you may be soooo smart about finding other threads, this person was thankful for the information, so actually YOUR policing of other people's helpfulness is totally unnecessary and not everyone is just so omniscient and amazing as you. It's totally legitimate to be helpful and point something out to someone that is seeking help.
Back the fuck off, dude. You are clearly super stressed by bar study and that is totally understandable, but that doesn't give you a right to be a total asshole and go find ways to pick fights all over. Hope you aren't treating all your friends and family the same way when they try to be helpful to you.

So is anyone else having a little freak out moment yet? I feel like I only have 3 (contracts, torts and con law) of the MBE subjects down cold...but I am struggling with the other three. Is this normal? Is it normal to still be missing issues/struggling with rules? Does anyone have any advice if this isn't normal?

Compare to me who has none of the subjects down cold. You're in a much better position than I am, that's for sure. I only remember bits and pieces of a little bit of everything as of now.

Well at least it's good to know I'm not the only one struggling?

. I think starting tomorrow I am going to start writing out (by hand) these 2-4 page short outlines I have and maybe spend 3-4 hours for each MBE subject, until I have that crap memorized!

Don't read too much into the barbri grades. I found it most helpful to compare my practice essays to real graded essays to figure out where I would score.

Barbri allocates a 3-4 hour lecture on all the Cali specific essay topics.
How much time do you guys think we need outside of that to learn the subject to pass an essay? Would it make sense to just skim an outline and do all the practice problems in order to learn the materials? What methods will you guys be using to learn all the law for the essays?
thx in advance for your future advice

My graded Property essay wasn't good. Neither was my graded Civ Pro Essay. Both were failing, Civ Pro by a lot. Civ Pro I understood why, because I totally forgot the law for the one area they tested and I didn't open my book to see the law. Property felt a little overly harsh, and when I self graded it seemed like I passed. I just see it as an opportunity to learn. Being shamed helps you remember the law better.

I think it depends. I'm personally spending less time memorizing the CA specific material, whereas for the MBE subjects I did flashcards and will spend more time doing cold memorizing since those subjects are tested more. For some of the CA specific topics, Barbri was actually saying you should spend more time doing essays and less time memorizing per se. At least that was the case for Agency/Partnership, because when they do test that subject, the essays are all very similar and follow the same format. But I wouldn't let cold memorizing for the MBE subjects keep you from doing problems. I think Barbri said it best that you should use a variety of formats to learn. And don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Unless you have photographic memory of something, everyone is struggling. My problem is that I learn the subjects very well once I cover the lecture and review. But a week or two later, I have forgotten a lot. I don't have good long-term memory. So on the simulated MBE, my Evidence and Crim Law/Pro grades were good, but Torts and Contracts weren't that hot even though I was doing well on those subjects once I initially reviewed.

I am actually finding that making the lectures in to outlines and then subbing in the stuff I do not know when reviewing MBE Qs is actually very effective. While time consuming, I would recommend giving it a try.

I do a similar thing in the Kaplan review. I fill in the provided outlines while going through the lecture and it makes for a nice general overview. I not the heavily tested areas and the areas that give me difficulties, then review those portions again. Take the MBE quizzes and practice sets to help hammer home the info.
It's a lot of info to retain, but repetition will helps. Once I review a wrong answer, I won't get that fact pattern wrong again.

If your pt is 70, you do not have to worry about or study pt anymore. Focus on essay and mbe.
