I had my MD interview early october (was contacted initially October 1 to get in all missing materials and schedule it.)

I think we can't put any stock into that whatsoever. I remember reading somewhere "if you pass and haven't yet heard about your interview contact us immediately." I'm certain there are character interviewers who are not on the ball, and the interviews are a joke.

FWIW I found the exam extremely difficult and am very concerned I failed. You are not alone.

Nevada results are in. 57% pass rate, which is slightly down from prior years.

Massachusetts results mailed today (Oct. 22). For in-state takers, the results will probably be arriving at your door step tomorrow (Oct. 23). I hope they just post the results today and get it over it. I wonder what their logic is for not doing that.

I also found the exam to be extremely difficult and I have not been contacted for an interview :-/ I cannot help but think that it is a bad sign.

Not sure what state you're referring to, but my PA score packet took 4 mail days to arrive. I only live a 2.5 hour drive from Harrisburg, where they originated. USPS takes a while with sometimes.

I found the exam to be soul-crushing, and I can see no logical way in which I scored enough to pass. I was still asked for an interview after the exam, but only because they had an "opening." I doubt the interview means anything.

Is it typical for states to announce the date of release and then release them, or do some just randomly release them? I am panicking mine might come out tomorrow, but the SC supreme court hasn't made any announcement about a date of release. It's typically the last Friday on October.

The way it works in SC is they post the list online and you get a packet in the mail later.

were you actually told that it was only because they had an opening?!?!

If you guys are comfortable please let me know how it pans out....if there is truth to the rumor that they know who passed in early October and only interview those individuals....I mean, that would be pretty major info and an extremely well kept secret.

Even though I had an interview I firmly believe it means nothing.

...I really don't think it means anything. Interviews frequently occur after results for those of us who sent in the application at deadline. They had someone who had submitted earlier drop out, so I got moved up into the queue. Really guys, knowing several people who participate in the process, the timing is not a black box of meaning. Some committees are slower, some faster, sometimes the interviewers' real life/job delays things. Thats the only point I was trying to make--no ?!?!? necessary.

I have a C&F interview too, honestly it just makes me extra nervous because if I fail the bar, I can't even sit for another bar exam until my character and fitness is clean. I'm not sure how much credence I can give to the theories that it's a secret sign you passed, but I guess this isn't the first forum I've seen it on. It does seem like it would be a huge pain in the butt to schedule interviews for people who might not have even passed so at least it makes some sense.

Well the whole thing with MD is that everyone is required to have one, so in my opinion being told you were only getting one due to an opening would be shocking and revealing (hence my use of punctuation!) Especially considering my interviewer told me his deadline to pass on the approvals was in early October (though I know some people end up doing their interview after results come out so I do not mean to scare anyone by saying that.) Now that you've reexplained it it sounds more like it was just that individual's scheduling, which is certainly less shocking.

Can't believe we find out this week. I feel so antsy at work.

For Marylanders...assuming that c&f interviewers don't want to waste time interviewing applicants who fail, isn't just as likely that they're waiting to see who passes rather than declining to interview people who fail before results come out?

Also...the c&f interviewers are just random attorneys. If they really had a list of who passed and failed, don't you think that would have leaked at least once?

Georgia overall pass rate was 73.7%, down from 79.7% in July 2013.

Emory seems largely responsible for the drop. They went from 96.5% passing to 87%. Weird.

For those who passed but have friends who didn't, what do/did you say to them? Many of my friends who didn't pass have virtually disappeared from FB :(

Give them a few days, failing the bar is a lot to deal with. People usually move past it for a re-take, at that point it's just kind of like re-entering a cycle.

Your latter point is why I don't think it means anything.

As to your first point, I doubt it because they are *supposed* to meet a deadline to interview people BEFORE results, so I think those that don't are just behind.

But again, I think you are totally right- if it were true that it made a difference that would HAVE to have leaked by now. So no fear anybody!!

NEW YORK IS OUT.

PASS.

http://www.nybarexam.org/

Holy shit.

Edit: I should add it's only private lookup at the moment; you go to the website and type in your BOLE ID and birthdate.

Re-edit: 170.1 scaled MBE according to the emailed pass letter. Suffice it to say, not what I was expecting.

Just got my NY results. I must have done pretty well on the written portions because my scaled mbe was 130.8.
I knew my mbe score would be low because i guessed a good 2/3 of the mbe (usually down to 2 answer choices) and was convinced that I would be retaking in Feb but I guess I got lucky with the essay portions.
Just glad this is all over.

I just found out that I passed New York, and I just noticed that they give us our MBE score at the bottom of the letter. I got a 137.5 scaled score.

ETA: Now I'm wondering if that's too low for New Jersey, which gives more weight to the MBE. I don't really need NJ anymore, but I would still be indignant if I passed NY and failed NJ.

There's been a self selected 30 PT swing in here from passing scores, hard to judge.

Congrats to all that passed in their respective jurisdictions. I hope nobody gets off guard with the whole C&F bit. I need to find someone to vouch for me. I burnt a lot of bridges in law school and during bar prep. Hope I still have some left to push me beyond the final, the very final, finish line that is our journey to lawyer-dom.

Kudos everyone.
