Checking in from CA. It's over!
I actually don't feel too bad about the whole experience. Please let it just be the once.

Just caught up with all of this. MBE was definitely miserable, especially for me. Got room service for dinner Tues night... woke up Weds at 4 a.m. with food poisoning and couldn't stop puking. Took every stomach pill I could find, somehow made it to the exam, and finished it. Worst day of my life. The only thing that kept me going was not wanting to deal with Civ Pro in Feb.

My school had a professor that made predictions about what would be on the CA essays and he nailed every single one. Bar examiner ninjas are now at his house to take him out.

Well Themis brothers and sisters,
Thank you for helping me keep my sanity during the bar prep craziness. I do not know if these forums were beneficial or deleterious to me passing, but I appreciate the comradery nonetheless!
Let us all hope to not have to talk to each other again post November!

Yes, thanks everyone!! Studying for the bar is such a lonely process! Was fantastic to have this venue for a little chit chat! Misery loooooves company!! I might be back in Feb... CA was a zinger, for me at least! Oh well! In light of all that's going on in the world, it's no biggie. And, Puttycake... awesome news about your school's professor!! WOW. Speaking of law professors... so sad about the Crim Law Professor in Florida. I sure hope they can figure out that case... just horrible. Was thinking about it a lot during our last week of studies...dtl wrote:Well Themis brothers and sisters,

I am now moved and can just sit back and relax and think about an upcoming cruise my husband and I are taking.
Like others, I want to give a big thank you to everyone on here. I hope you all passed. If you don't post in November, I'm going to assume you did!

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
I also just passed the Missouri Bar Exam (UBE)
I should also note that Themis helped me pass even though I worked 40-50 hours a week during bar prep and I'd highly recommend the program to those in similar situations (though I'd certainly not recommend combining work and bar prep if at all possible).

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
Copy/paste from my response on the July '14 results thread:
Hey guys first time/long time here. I passed MO as well and here are my anecdotal takeaways for my preparation:
Took Themis, completed 97% of the course (started early, but only studied a max of 6 hours a day), only did enough practice essays to the point where I felt like I had the structure down (IRAC), then focused on straight memorization the week preceding the test. Was scoring in the 70% on the practice MBE sets and scored a 68% total on the Themis simulated exam (not sure of the scaled score). Scored highly on the practice MPTs.
Now for the test itself:
Felt confident about the MPTs after the AM session, the MEE PM session I felt went about average. I felt best about the crim law, evidence, and contract essay. Least confident about the Civ Pro and Family Law essay. I don't think that I bombed any of them, but I knew that I couldn't afford to bomb the MBE at this point.
For the MBE I felt slightly more confident about the AM session then I did for the PM session. Again, I didn't walk out thinking I bombed it, but after coming onto this forum I did relate to mostly all the difficult questions pointed out here at which point I began to question the outcome.
Results as already given:
MO average MBE: 143.22
MY scaled MBE: 157
MO average essays: 143.21
MY scaled essays: 146
Passed by 43 points. (MO requires 260 combined scaled).
While I never felt like I bombed the test, I did feel very uneasy in the weeks before the results came down, especially about the MBE. If I had to guess I would imagine that a hefty curve was applied as my best score for taking MBE questions ended up being the exam itself.
My advice: stay the HELL away from this website and trust in the process, if you put in the time and effort then you surely passed.

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
Passed the FL Bar. I failed the FL portion, but I passed the MBE by enough to make-up for it and give me the overall pass. I was nervous as hell considering how tough we all thought the MBE was, and only scoring 55-60% on the practice questions. Wont be until Weds, when I get my FL results breakdown in the mail. But it looked like Themis worked! Hope you all get similar results!

Passed FL Bar - both parts A and B:
Part A scaled: 149
Part B scaled: 158
Themis was great! Only completed around half the material.

I've noticed everyone who took Barbri had a much higher Florida score than us Themisers when compared to the MBE. It verifies that Barbri is the king of Florida section bar prep.
I took Themis and scored 153/155. I felt GREAT after the Florida essays and was in the gutter after the MC. Especially after the whole ordeal when all the Barbri folks talked about how the nailed the MC.

Legit I was only for sure correct on about 16 of the FL MC questions. Whatever deficiencies Themis had in its FL MC preparation section, Themis gave me everything I needed for the MBE. 131/150 on Part A and Part B = a pass!
Not grading Themis for their FL essay prep because the best way (keep in mind, I've already passed another state so I know you don't have to study 15 hours a day and know everything to pass) to study for essays in FL is just to read the old essays provided by the FL Board of Bar Examiners. That was money! Print 'em all out, sent them in a pile by subject. Read. Read. Read. That leads to quality essays, it's an outrageous shortcut that works.
But damn I spent all summer thinking I failed because that FL MC was out of this world hard. Kudos to Barbri if they helped on that, but a pass is a pass and I mean seriously I would be lying if I was confident on 25 of the FL MC. So DAT THEMIS saved me that cash and got me the pass.

Long time creeper, first time poster. Impatiently waiting for PA results.
Anyone get an email from the PA Board of Examiners indicating that results would be released soon?
My understanding is that we will receive an email early in the week prior to results being released on Friday. I have not yet received such an email.
Any other PA applicants have additional info.? I was really hoping that this Friday would be the end of the wait. I need closure!

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
Last year PA released on 10/18 with an email on that preceding Wednesday, so expect results this Friday. I'm surprisingly calm about it. All the talk about pass rates being down freaked me out, but I can either choose to think that I failed or choose to believe that I passed. Even if I failed PA, I feel like NJ was easier, but NJ doesn't usually release till about Thanksgiving. Good luck.acc82 wrote:Long time creeper, first time poster. Impatiently waiting for PA results.
