Does anyone know if you can bring laptop cases into the bar, or do I just have to walk to the test center with only the laptop?

You can leave it in the hall, but yeah, it's pretty shitty.

Writing out two more essays and doing some practice MBEs tonight. Probably done after that. May hit the pool or beach tomorrow (debating on whether to bring my flashcards, probably better not to).

Yea I did a little bit today. Wrote out and essay and did a few MBE's too. As for the flash cards probably should leave them in the car. What center are you taking the exam at?

I know, its just weird

You can bring a gallon size ziploc bag into the actual testing area. It can have all the testing material you can bring in on the first day. Your pens, highlighters, pencils, cash and/or debit/credit cards, your travel sized analog clock or watch, your ticket and your ID. I'll post the link.

You have to walk your laptop and charger in though.

MBE day -- its pretty much your ID, your clock, cash (debit/CC) your pencils and your ticket

I was in Ontario, and yes, they were very cognizant about having electrical outlets within a reasonable distance for every test-taker.

I'm not sure about other testing centers, but I can't imagine its any different.

Then in the afternoon, I checked it a few more times to make sure it wasn't the 26th and that I didn't miss the first day.
Nervous?? Isn't it exciting that you'll be done with this shit in exactly 7 days?

JK yeah it's normal to be nervous
What do you do if your computer or the exam software malfunctions? Barbri said something about grabbing a booklet right away and continuing to write... what does this mean? Start all over or just start where you stopped before the computer or software failed? And do people just get booklets ahead of time and keep em around near their computer just in case?
Raise your hand and ask for a booklet so you can continue where you left off (if you can even remember).

The thing that fucked people over in 2014 with their SofTest was copy and pasting large amounts of text, about 500 or more words. Or at least that seems to be the common thread among people whose software freaked out. I have no idea if this has been fixed, but try to avoid that.
ElleWoods363 wrote:do people usually bring lunch or leave it in the car? can you even bring lunch into the testing room?
Nothing is allowed except for the allowed items: http://admissions.calbar.ca.gov/Portals ... 0616_R.pdf

During lunch on the first day, I spent like an hour finding a place and buying multiple takeout items to store it in my hotel room so that I could eat through the rest of the three days. (Everything was closed Monday night!) So if you can, try to stock up or bring them from elsewhere for easy access, including putting it in your car if you want.

"pen-styled highlighters"? dafuq? can someone clarify?

Can you wear any jewelry into the testing center? Like a simple cross necklace that you always wear?

There are no rules saying that you can't but I'm sure there are no big necklaces allowed.

The admission ticket says we need to be seated by 8:20, does anyone know what time shall we arrive at the entrance? I am sure there will be a long line.

For those that have taken the CBX before: are hoodies permitted, or no? I understand that I can't wear the hood, but I'm thinking, giving the language of the admittance ticket bulletin, that I will be permitted to wear my hoodie as planned.

To preempt some advice that I anticipate being given - I don't actually own a non-hooded sweatshirt, and my only non-hooded jackets are winter gear from when I lived in the Midwest. I also fully anticipate the hood of my hoodie being inspected, having to take it off, etc.

I took CBX in Sacramento Feb 2016, the person next to me wore a hoodie the entire time and a ton of other people were wearing them as well. I don't imagine it would be an issue.
Awesome! Thanks!

for anyone in oakland, do we have to register or anything? there's some sign up in the hotel lobby saying there's registration all day today, but i'm kind of confused and there doesn't seem to be a place to actually register...

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
