Yeah, definitely made some shit up. Looked over outlines, some of the things I said were totally wrong, bummer. I can't be the only one who didn't get every subpart right. For those saying they did well, did you really get like every subpart exactly right? If so I'm screwed.

Lol, trust me, nobody in the state got every subpart right. If you applied the facts to something reasonable resembling the law you'll be fine. The most important thing by far was to use all of the facts or to at least know why you weren't going to use them.

Does anyone know if Alice was liable in the LLC question? Obviously the corporation was liable, but I couldn't decide if she was liable as the managing shareholder or whatever. I said no but I wasn't confident in that at all.

Also, I assume it's okay for us to talk about the questions since the BLE let us keep the questions, but if that's wrong someone let me know and I'll delete this post.

Can we get a ruling from a mod on if it's okay to talk about essays? I'm assuming the ble is fine with it since we get to keep the questions

Holy shit there's a lot of law on that haha. The only reason I got something kind of resembling the correct answer was because of the past essay question on MMLs. I thought the model answer for that past question explained it pretty well but the Barbri materials on it were terrible other than that.

Agreed. I couldn't tell if Deb and Ann were lessee/lessors or if they were leasing from Cary.

I assumed they were saying that the mineral estate owner was trying to lease the water rights, which belong to the surface. When I first read Deb's name I was like.... Who the F is deb??? I had to reread it because I figured I skipped a paragraph.

I said it was a mechanic's lien but couldn't remember any requirements. so I just bs-ed the rest and said it couldn't attach because no notice given. probably wrong but hopefully got some points for mechanic's lien.

also the second question to the intestacy essay in the morning...wtf?!?! I read that question over and over again and couldn't figure out what they wanted so I answered in correctly. only to realize while looking over my notes, it was something about informal *stuff* (that's how quickly it has fallen out of my head) and small estates...overall I think the essays seemed better than the past ones I have practiced on. Corporations seemed super straight forward.

oh and the secured transactions which was about self-help and foreclosure. I said that foreclosure wasn't proper because the co may have ratified the late payment and didn't send notice of the revocation of the ratification prior to repossession. In the alternative I said they also didn't provide proper notice of the foreclosure sale and also conduct the sale properly. I put other stuff too but cant remember now.

Any thoughts?

The m&m essay - 10% retainage duty. Notice to all within 3 mos and 15 days

Drew an absolute blank on the staircase property question. Completely made up stuff. Only thing I may have got correct was some buzzwords followed by 10% retainage.

Completely missed an issue in the last question and went off on a wrong tanget. Misread the question because of fatigue and not giving a shit.

Thought the second biz org question was a joke. Could have been answered in less than five sentences.

Thought AM was way easier than PM overall. PM kicked my ass.

If you're freaking out about the MBE, I was in the same boat last year. I felt good about my MBE prep going in, and on the test day I just thought I totally bombed it. Only knew for sure about 1/4 of the questions and felt like I had to go 50/50 on at least half of them. It was a disaster, and I'm not one of those douchebags who thinks I failed every test and then gets an A-minus. I spent three months from August-October trying to calculate how I could pass the bar with a scaled 110 or something atrocious, because I literally thought I could've missed more than half of the questions. I ended up getting a 139 scaled - not great, but above what you need to average to pass. Bottom line- don't freak out about the MBE, everyone thinks it's hard and it's scaled up for a reason.

For the Texas Barbri folks, do we have to return the purple Texas Handouts book? Not on the list. Would prefer to recycle it, or burn it, and cut down on what I imagine will be be pretty steep shipping costs. Anyone shipped yours yet? How much?
