That is absolutely crazy - you're in CA, right? How late did they come back? We actually had a lot less time for lunch than I thought we would - we had to be back by 1:30 and it took them till after 12:30 to collect all the booklets.

And then we sat there from 1:50 on just waiting for it to be 2 so we could start.

I'm glad I only had a half-day. Got my MPT uploaded on the fourth try! My hand still hurts from writing all those damn TX procedure answers though. Onto the fun part tomorrow! MBE ahoy!

And yea, there was someone on my row who didn't show. The proctor for our section LOUDLY announced the person's number and DNT designation.

And don't even get me started on that BS about sitting around for 15 minutes 'waiting' for the exact time to hit.

I don't know what to do...so one of my files (AM) got uploaded via the softest application on my computer, but now it's not even prompting me to upload the PM file when I open the application. And when I finally manage to get through to the manual upload site and log in, it takes me to a page that says "CONGRATULATIONS [ME]: We have recieved the following answers from you: NYSBOLE_7-29-14_AM" and then it just says print and email and "view more information" ....there's nothing about uploading another file. So there's literally no way for me to upload a file.

One of the guys in my test area was stupid enough to bring his cell phone to the test, and doubly stupid to not have it off. It rang during the afternoon portion and he was out of there.

As far as the difficulty of the essays, I can see how some of you are upset, but everyone is in the same situation, and two parts of the grade for each essay are based on organization and analysis. I can't see someone who is a good writer who studied well for the past two months could get less than a 2 or a 3 on any of them.

I feel so much better after today because I had lots of stuff to write about the essays, and most of the stuff I wrote had a strong basis in the law. I'm in one of the easier jurisdictions, Illinois, which has a high pass rate, so I know that I just have to not implode on the MBE tomorrow and I will be easily passing.

Every aspiring lawyer in the US is DOSing softest. It should clear up soon. Manual upload is working intermittently if you are worried.

Unbelievable. In Minnesota if they catch you with a cell phone after the grace period to turn shit in, not only will your test be voided and flagged for a C&F investigation, but they confiscate the phone in order to run a forensic analysis on it to find out whether you actually cheated with it.

which is funny because apparently in NY this guy put a whole outline in his boxers and pulled it out in the bathroom to study it during the test... (my friend was in the bathroom at the same time)

Oh, here's another fun thing that happened today. Two giant countdown clocks on each side of the room. We were all facing different directions, so no one was looking at both clocks. The clock I was looking at synched up with the actual time remaining. The one on the other side? Not so much. MPT was called with a lot of people thinking they had several minutes left. Brutal.

Does anyone know of a thread to share bar exam disasters? I loved that thread for the LSAT. I don't have anything to share. Just want to read about the misfortune of others.

What an idiot. Seriously, how do you not know at this point that you can't bring a cell phone? My MPRE was thankfully uneventful, but when my roommate was taking it some guy had a cell phone on him. They took him out of the room and he didn't come back.

Way to waste 3 years.

That reminds me. For our test, there wasn't a clock in the front of the room, one was on the side and one was in the back. So the proctors enlisted a janitor to set up a new clock in the front. During the middle of the state essays he kept carrying a ladder through this staff door that was right next to me. I was writing my test and dodging a ten foot metal ladder several times.

That story about the guy stuffing an outline in his boxers is hilarious. Would have been easier to just study a bit more and not take huge risks that will probably not help you remember anything.

The guy sitting next to me turned to me before the testing started and asked how many times I'd taken the test. I said it was my first and he said, "Me too. I figure it will take two or three tries." I said, "Oh, I hope you get it this time so you don't have to take it again in February with the added Civ Pro section!" He said, "Oh, I got all of the civ pro evidence questions. No, I guess that's criminal law. They had a lot of them."

I sort've double taked for a second then said, "Evidence is a separate section on the multiple choice. That's why it shows up so much."

He looked a me then said, "Oh. I knew that."

He left halfway through the essays, leaving his Softest open and running. This afternoon, he came back and saw it was running and asked me how to close it.

The announcement guy had said how we would be penalized if we didn't shut down Softest right away. I don't know if that's going to bite this guy or not. Or even if it will matter since he doesn't seem to be super prepared for this thing.

I overheard someone near me saying that he answered the entire first question as a contracts question and how he concluded that the contract was valid.

It made me think that maybe my tenuous grasp of the law will be enough, and the low pass rate is made up of people who don't prepare.

HA!! Thanks for making me laugh. I needed that! :D (ok, admittedly I feel a little bad that I'm laughing at the guy... but I'm tired and I can't help it! lol)

This happened to me as well. I just kept dicking around on the site and eventually an upload box appeared. Dont know how I got there though. Thought the site just didnt load all the way the first time.

Yeah, if we could really know how much people who fail tend to prepare, that would tell us something. Not that every person who prepares at all will pass, but I have a feeling some of the high failure rate in CA is a lot of people who aren't taking it seriously at all.

Man did I bomb the MBE. It's hard to describe how bad I did. I only knew like 10% of the questions. 80% of the questions were like "it's got to be one of these two" and the rest of the questions were like "daf fuk!??!"

I had no idea how well I did on my pratice tests while taking them (pretty good in the end). But at least with them there is instant feedback. Now I'm stuck in a 4 month limbo having no idea if I did well on the MBE to pass.

The second half, I seriously believe I failed, like sub 60% easy. That was the hardest MBE I've taken by a mile.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
