Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
the PROCTOR of our test announced before the MPT that the MEE would be on 7/30, and everyone's arms shot up. lolblue920 wrote:OMG. I am so tired. I didn't think it was too bad overall, except for that one question...are we allowed to talk about them yet? Don't want to kill my chances before I even get to upload my answers.
And a funny little anecdote for everyone:
I was in the breakfast area of my hotel this morning and I heard this guy the next table over mention the MPT. So I looked over and asked if he was taking the bar exam today. He said he was and we started talking a little bit, and he asked if I wanted a ride. I said thanks but I want to look over the rules for what I think will be the afternoon essay topics during lunch. And then he says, "But the essays are tomorrow."
Well.
At least he ran into me, otherwise he wouldn't have had his laptop today.

Thought PA was surprisingly easy. Pretty straight forward only a couple of issues that threw me off pertaining to family law.

Heh, well you don't have to worry about me on the curve, then. I definitely bombed about 5 or 6 sub questions and made up much or most of the law I applied. The PT and the morning essays were pretty straightforward, though. Weirdly enough, I felt good about the Family Law stuff (grandparents' rights and such), but I had no idea about a couple of the property questions.TooManyLoans wrote:Thought PA was surprisingly easy. Uploaded both answers to Examsoft! Took a while because I had to do it manually and the site kept crashing, but got it eventually. Though I didn't get to a confirmation page - the text and email confirmed it was uploaded.

This dude near me just left after the first half. That's even weirder than not showing up....you paid for it, you took half, just finish the rest lolkapital98 wrote:The person next to me didn't even show up. Bunch of people got turned away by ours today. They came back after lunch "too late." Such a joke. Pure alarmist nonsense. Someone else got booted because somehow she didn't hear the instruction all ten times it was mentioned that you cannot under any circumstances remove your laptop from the testing center during lunch. She was called out anonymous in front of all of us at the beginning of the afternoon session and told to approach the front desk.Gotti wrote:This dude near me just left after the first half. WOW that is ridiculous. If I got turned away for coming back from lunch too late I would be ready to kill someone.Tanicius wrote:Bunch of people got turned away by ours today. Yeah, I'm the opposite. Before lunch I felt like I was definitely going to pass, not so much in the afternoon.VermiciousKnid wrote:You took PA right? I was the opposite....morning was awful. I went over on my PT which screwed up everything and am fairly certain I missed huge issues because I was only writing a few sentences for each questions. Afternoon went well. I was able to write law and apply pretty much everything or at least a good faith effort at bullshitting it. At lunch I was certain I'd be retaking in Feb...but I feel a little more positive after the afternoon.Lilly76 wrote:Felt great about the morning essays, but I didn't manage my time well on PT, so I won't really be getting any decent benefit there. The afternoon essays kicked my ass. I could seriously be retaking in February.
You won't have to worry about me either. If I sealed my fate for PA toady, there's always hope for NJ I guess. It's funny how I can complete 83% of the Themis course and still feel like I could legitimately be retaking.84Sunbird2000 wrote:Heh, well you don't have to worry about me on the curve, then. Turned away as in were not allowed to complete the afternoon session? How late were they? How many people is a bunch? What jurisdiction is this?

That's ridiculous. They should have just been penalized for the lost time. Trying to finish 2 essays and an MPT in 2.5 hours instead of 3 is no small feat.Tanicius wrote:Not sure how late, but late coming back from lunch.splitmuch wrote:Tanicius wrote:

Thanks for letting me know. I was going to push the time limit tomorrow (more time to sleep). I won't be doing that now.

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
I have officially decided to hand write my exam; literally couldn't handle that stress.
I am seriously feeling for everyone going through ExamSoft hell [and to think, I did have 1 upload issue 2L year and nearly had a heart attack]. In MA you can't leave the testing site until exams are uploaded - if you're using a computer - so I'm so curious how this is going to play out come Thursday. I'd like to pass it in and run the fuck out.

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
Ha, we have to be there at 9 tomorrow, so I'm waking up at 6:45 so I can get there early enough to get a good (hopefully) parking spot - the lot I was in today filled up by 7:15. So my dad's going to call me at 6:45, which is the latest possible time he can call before he goes into the gym for an hour. He asked me, quite seriously, if I thought I was getting up too late.kapital98 wrote: Thanks for letting me know. I was going to push the time limit tomorrow (more time to sleep). Well, consider your ability to upload tomorrow. Maybe you can get it in the morning, but I'm not getting out till 5 (and you're NY too, right?) and then I'm driving home for 2+ hours. And it has to be in by 8. I spent 2 hours trying to upload, but at least it's done.bport hopeful wrote: How late am I supposed to stay up trying to upload?

I feel like waiting until tomorrow will freak me out, even though I live down the street from the testing site. But Im beat. Im literally letting the site sit there, and refreshing and refreshing. I dont know what to do.blue920 wrote:Well, consider your ability to upload tomorrow. Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
I nailed the family law questions, but thats mostly because I have spent the last year primary representing grandparents and 3rd parties seeking custody...so that something. I may be overestimating my bombing of the morning essays. I felt like I must have been missing issues because I wasn't writing a ton, but after looking up some of the issues, I'm not sure how much there actually was to write about.84Sunbird2000 wrote:Heh, well you don't have to worry about me on the curve, then. Manual upload is working intermittently. Supposedly via Softests twitter, if you get an email confirmation you are set, regardless if the softest program errors out.
Comforting, yes?
