Re: Final Practice MBE Score VS Actual MBE Scaled Score (if released)
Passed Texas!
Used Barbri all the way! Nothing else. Completed around 83%...honestly don't feel 100% is humanly possible if you follow it to the tees..
Barbri Simulated Exam - 120/200 - BUT Blew away in timing (first session blew time by 20 mins and second session by 5 or 8 mins).
Barbri Final - only did 50 questions the night before...don't do that! it's very misleading...I think I only got like 23 correct and almost puked.
Actual MBE Scaled - 147.6
PS. I am a foreign trained attorney and this was my second attempt (first was Feb2016). Left the MBE without any clues as to how I did and used ALL the time allowed to the seconds.

Is it safe to say that everyone who took barbri is getting like a 18-20 point bump?

Themis Final: 147/200 (73.5%)
MBE: 158.1
I took the two halves of the Themis final on different days, so that's probably a bit inflated. I also focused on essays for the last 10-12 days and hardly did any MBE stuff, so my MBE score is probably a bit lower than it could have been due to rust.

Re: Final Practice MBE Score VS Actual MBE Scaled Score (if released)
unfortunately, missed it by 3 points
.. the good thing I know I can do it next time.. My issue was the MPT Texas bar taker .. did Kaplan 113/200 final score and got 134 on real MBE ..
so Kaplan score was very accurate, Chris said expect 20 point and I got 21 extra points. my essays were 138 but I got Zero/6 on the MPT ..

Re: Final Practice MBE Score VS Actual MBE Scaled Score (if released)
CA results come out in 16 hours. I'm praying to all the deities that things go my way. The fact that CA has the lowest pass rate in the country is not very reassuring. I know everyone on here gets a 20 point bump but I hope that happens to me too.
Midterm PT: 134/200 (67%)
Final PT: 81/100
I was very calm and collected during the final PT, but pretty jittery during the PM session of the real MBE. I genuinely think I guessed/freaked out on 60 of the 100 questions.

Re: Final Practice MBE Score VS Actual MBE Scaled Score (if released)
I thought I'd share that I passed in CA. Thank you to everyone who shared information in this thread, it eased some of my anxiety waiting for results to come out. Joe Seperac's prediction calculator had me failing by hundreds of points on the bar due to my 89 MPRE score (which I barely studied for) and 2.7 law school GPA. I wanted to share that law school grades have NO BEARING on your ability to pass the bar exam. Don't let things like that bring you down. Once you graduate, it's a clean slate. Work your ass off, study effectively, and things will likely go your way.

A 150+ MBE score is something to be proud of. That's significantly higher than the national average, and would have made you eligible to waive into DC, N. Dakota, and Minnesota. It's something you can build on if you need to re-take your state's exam.

Passed in DC.
Kaplan midterm: 132/200
Kaplan final: don’t remember the exact number but it was like 150-160/200
Adaptibar q bank averaged low 70%
Between adaptibar and kaplan probably did around 3500 qs
MBE scales score: 176.5
Kaplan midterm: 132/200

Re: Final Practice MBE Score VS Actual MBE Scaled Score (if released)
Passed CA. My state doesn't release scores for passing applicants but I did the score advisory and apparently I got above 150+ on the MBE. Obviously I have no idea if I in fact was able to add 10-20 points to our final for scaling purposes, but I at least achieved my Kaplan final scorediatribe wrote:Also first attempt here:
Kaplan midterm- 160/200
Kaplan final- 151/200
Extra Kaplan Practice exam 161/200
80%+ in every subject for Kaplan QBank, all 2000+ questions answered.
100% Kaplan program completion (but to be fair I didn't take some of their assignments seriously)
Actual mbe- TBD
Kaplan told us to expect to add 10-20 points to our final score in order to account for NCBE MBE scaling but after how I felt with the actual MBE, I think I'll be beyond lucky to score what I did in practice even with the scaling already added. This isn't the bs your classmate spewed every time you finished a test and he claimed he "failed." I had extra time from my AM session and counted 58 questions out of 100 that I "knew for sure" that I had gotten correct. Obviously I could still be wrong, but the figure is around 50. For the PM session I didn't even bother counting because I was 50/50 on half and lost of the other half.
Will repost this with actual MBE score come November.

Re: Final Practice MBE Score VS Actual MBE Scaled Score (if released)
Passed DC.
Kaplan Midterm: 132
Kaplan Final: 145
Actual MBE: 161

I did about 60% of Kaplan and ~1000 qs on Adaptibar. I used an older set of critical pass cards that someone lent me so I could study during my restaurant job. My advice is to know yourself -- how you study best, and what your testing weaknesses are. I get tripped up by MC questions but I'm a good writer, so I focused mainly on practice questions instead of the written portions. I did MBE almost exclusively until the week before the exam and in the last week looked at old MEE questions and model answers to make flash cards for the highly-tested concepts. I then outlined a couple questions for each of the topics that JD Advising predicted would be on the exam. I did no MPTs because I felt pretty comfortable doing the tasks MPTs ask you to do (draft a brief, etc.).

Re: Final Practice MBE Score VS Actual MBE Scaled Score (if released)
Posting this because my MBE results are atypical of those above, and I'd like to help future takers avoid my test day mistake. I still passed, but I did somewhat worse than expected.
Practice Midterm: 134 (67%)- no memorized rules at this point
Final: 81/100 (81%)- all rules memorized so I was sharper
Scaled Score: Between 145-150 (CA doesn't release scores, but I requested their little report thing)
The probable reason I did way worse than my final was because I didn't use my clock right in the PM session. We started the test 20 minutes late, and I forgot. So I started the exam, and after 25 questions I thought I was WAY behind on time (which I wasn't). I figured I needed to increase my pace dramatically, and obviously you know what happens when you increase your pace... So I was literally just jotting down first glance answers for 50 straight questions until I looked again and remembered we started late, so I had plenty of time. The damage was already done. I tried to go back over those questions at the end but I only got through like 5. Fortunately I still passed (need to average 144 to pass in CA), but if there's a takeaway from this, I'd suggest SETTING YOUR CLOCK TO THE EVEN MARK once they say start your exam so that you don't have to try to remember what time you started the test.

Re: Final Practice MBE Score VS Actual MBE Scaled Score (if released)
Passed DC.
Barbri simulated:115
Barbri refresher: 63
Actual MBE: 158.
Supplemented Barbri with Critical Pass cards (selling them if anyone wants them). I thought the actual MBE questions were far easier than Barbri -- almost to the point where I got tripped up thinking that the answers were too obvious.

Re: Final Practice MBE Score VS Actual MBE Scaled Score (if released)
LLM - Barbri (completed around 62%)
Passed NY first try.
Scaled MBE 140.7 v. Midterm 111.
Did not do one single real NCBE question before.
Bought but did not use Critical Pass.
Read mini-conviser back and forth.
Did more than 2,500 Barbri MBE questions and a few essays.
On D-day, MBE saved the day I think.

Re: Final Practice MBE Score VS Actual MBE Scaled Score (if released)
This was helpful to me, so I'm paying it forward.
Did 100% of Barbri then made flashcards to help drill in the rules.
Practice: 139/200
Final Refresher: 75/100
Final: 165.8 MBE, 335 Total (which I assume means I got a 169.2 on the essay)
