Dude if there was a character limit you would have known ahead of time and it would have been in the instructions. You are freaking out for no reason. In IL ExamSoft didn't even let us type more than our character limit, it automatically cut us off and let us know that we had reached the limit. Take a chill pill.

I was overconfident based on not studying much And doing well in law school so studied maybe 150-200 hrs total - just Barbra videos at 2x speed, 2 essays total and about 2,000 MBE q's. I easily could have not seen that.

I took in IL as well. Softest imposed the word limit and would prevent you from submitting additional text beyond the characters allotted. So, if you'd had a limit, you would have known about it. Hope that helps... :)

Yeah thx a lot!!!! Definitely learned my lesson on procrastinating even if I passed - just isn't worth the stress during the wait. I really wish I had gotten a c plus on one of the exams I took cold during 3L so I would've learned this earlier.

LOL--they've gotta send you a letter if you failed too, right?
I have not received any email from the IL board ....is it a bad sign???
I doubt it. I'm trying not to read too much into it. I bet they sent it to everyone, check your spam/other folder and such.
I'm sure they sent it to everyone. I try to tell myself if they want me to update my address, that must've mean I passed. haha. Two weeks from today!
I haven't gotten that email, either! Trying to stay calm...
Maybe you passed and we who got the emails failed.......

"HOME/MAIL ADDRESS & NAME CHANGE

Prior to the release of the July 2015 bar examination results, we are requesting that you log into your bar admissions user account and update your contact information, IF NECESSARY, including your U.S. mail address and email address. Further, if you have had a name change since registering to take the bar, due to court order, marriage, civil union or divorce, please update your name.

It is extremely important that we have your correct home/mail address at this time. If you plan to move within next 2 weeks, please update your home/mail address to where you will be residing on October 1, 2015. If you anticipate no change to your address or other contact information, you need not do anything.

ADMISSIONS CEREMONY LOCATION

Please be aware that your name and home/mail address in our system as of October 1, 2015 will be sent to the Supreme Court Clerk's Office. The home/mail address will be used by the Clerk's office to determine the bar admission ceremony location to which certified successful bar examinees will be assigned. The Clerk's office will send out further information regarding admission ceremony assignments by U.S. mail. Thus, it is imperative that you update your home/mail address. You may also look for admission ceremony information as it becomes available on the Supreme Court website at http://www.state.il.us/court/SupremeCou ... efault.asp

NAME ON LICENSE

Your name in our system as of October 1, 2015, will be used by the Clerk's office when preparing your law license. If you have had a name change or would like the name on your law license to appear in a particular way (e.g. full middle name vs. middle initial), you must update your information to ensure that your correct name is reflected on your license. Once you have been sworn into the bar, you may request a name change only by filing a motion with the Clerk of the Supreme Court along with certified documentation of a legal name change."

Don't think they would send this if they know we failed haha. I'm sure they sent it to everyone.

Passed the Idaho bar. Damn high pass UBE state (needed a 280) had me sweating. As for stats, 170.2 scaled MBE score; Idaho doesn't release essay for successful applicants.

NOTES:

(1) I felt TERRIBLE coming out of the MBE (both sessions). Unlike most everyone, thought the PM was harder than the AM.
(2) had a huge string of D in the first column (broken up with a different answer every so often) on the AM session, and IIRC, a lot of D scattered throughout the remainder of the session
(3) also had a smaller string of D in the last column in one of the sessions (can't remember which).
(4) felt 100% confident on about 10 questions each session; the rest were differing degrees of guess (ranging from 50/50 guesses to wild guesses)
(5) Felt confident about the MPT and MEE questions.
(6) Used Themis--averaged around 75% overall (finished every MBE set they had); completed 89% of the course; did all graded essays; 160/200 on Themis full-length practice
(7) Seriously thought I was going to fail because of the MBE, so am very relieved. I left feeling like I had spent an entire summer learning Spanish, only to be tested on Portuguese.

(Robinhood, you've got me taking the MO bar in your spreadsheet--I went to school with some of the MO takers, but took Idaho and used Themis--thanks for putting all the data together!)

A bit off-topic, but he could've pulled it - 2000 MBE Q take around 60h to do, another 60h to read explanations to the Q --> leaves 80h for watching videos and doing two essays.
Possible? Possible
Probable? Meh, idk.

I also passed the Idaho bar. I felt terrible as well coming out of both sessions of the MBE, but I thought AM was harder than PM. I think I had around 17 D's in my first 31 answers. The MPT and MEE felt very straightforward, but I will never know how I did since Idaho doesn't release essay scores for those that pass the exam.

I used Themis as well. I averaged around 75-80% on the MBE questions I took, but I only completed about 50% of the course since I started late.

My MBE score was 152.5.

The primary reason I created this account was to inform you and anyone else who took the Idaho bar exam that you can obtain your MBE score for free by emailing a request to mryanbraley@isb.idaho.gov

When people say then Barbri midterm, are they talking about the simulated full day? And when they say the final, are they talking about the refresher? It would help to keep the lingo the same.

(2) and (3) is exactly how my MBE turned out... We must have been taking the same MBE version. Man this brightened up my day lol

Thanks for the confirmation it was no. I only did MBE subject videos, and used lean sheets for everything else. I'm guesstimating the question amount. I did the q sets for all the subjects in the end, I think. May have done much less q's, but I was doing 50 a day for around a month give or take.

Exactly. I didn't take Barbri and most people reporting have been calling the 2 different sets different things, so I didn't know how to classify them in the feedback portion. I've reached out to a few people for clarification and Final = Refresher and Midterm = Practice Test = Simulated Full Day

Kaplan, on the other hand, just had a 200 Q Midterm and 200 Q Final for the MBE (which I took); hence my confusion. I'll try to make this more clear in the Google Doc.

First of all, a big thank you to everyone who posted here this summer. Even though I'm mostly a lurker, your thoughts definitely helped keep me sane.

I took the bar in Idaho. I felt okay about the MBE after I took it, but definitely felt that it could have gone better. After thinking about it all summer I was sure I failed. However, I passed. My MBE scaled score is 136.1. I must have done really well on the MEE/MPTs. Thank goodness!

I used Barbri. I hit about 108 raw on the midterm, and 55 on the refresher.

Big thanks to Wapasha who included the Idaho admissions contact info, it was very helpful!

Got my results this morning. I passed the bar! UBE state. My MBE score was a 148. I thought it would be much lower. The MBE destroyed me. I literally cried during the lunch break. I got a 113 on my Barbri midterm. Can't remember the score on the refresher, but I remember being scared by how low it was...My Barbri MBE set scores were usually in the 60% - 70% range. I feel very lucky, surprised, and relieved that I passed. Hope this helps. Good luck to everyone!
