The MBE question sets for the individual subjects are focused on one or two subtypes of questions. They aren't all the actual test distribution.FloRida15 wrote:Property MBE -- just finished my second set of property MBE questions. The distribution of questions over different topics seems strange. A ton on mortgages and deeds, but only 1 future interest question. Any idea if this is a reflection of the MBE? or Just a bizarre breakdown by Themis?

I thought the dude meant tires but then it was a bike which was weird but not weirder than expecting a free car.

NY taker checking in here. Just finished Torts, the lectures were pretty terrible. I stopped looking at them because I was getting annoyed. Is this man pretending that he is in front of a class? Who is he looking at when he looks at the side? Lol! Anyway, I took the assessments and did the practice questions. Can Professor Geis and Professor McElroy just teach the entire course? hahaha.

Fun fact: McElroy was the one who sent out the anal beads link at drexel.
Also, what does the "suggested pace" percentage mean?

NO way. Hahahaha. Now I'm not going to be able to look at her in the same way any more.Mad Hatter wrote:Fun fact: McElroy was the one who sent out the anal beads link at drexel.
Think general consensus is that's what you need to do to finish the entire course (impossible from what I'm told). I'm not sure though because the other day everything I was scheduled to do only put me up to 1.1% (mine is sitting at 1.5% suggested). Also, what does the "suggested pace" percentage mean?

Mine used to be 1.4 when I was on track but now it's 1.5. I have no idea what it means but a friend guessed that maybe it's how much Themis suggests you complete for the day?

Mine started out a 1.3%, but has been consistently at 1.5% for about a week now.
Also, just nailed a 74% correct on my second Torts set of practice MBE questions.
Nice. Maybe I can make up for how terrible I am in K's (55-59%) with Torts.

I'm at 1.5%, probably because I started after Memorial Day.
I feel a lot better about torts and property, particularly after contracts. Not sure if Themis should start its course with one of the harder subjects.

Kramer is such a treat after the Torts guy! The sad part is that my schedule moved me to Property without me knowing a lot about Torts...

You'll go back to Torts. The schedule will start mixing subjects, and have you read the final review outline before doing an MBE set.zot1 wrote:Kramer is such a treat after the Torts guy! The sad part is that my schedule moved me to Property without me knowing a lot about Torts...

I received my graded essay back. Not sure how to measure it. What is a good score? What should we be aiming for? I e-mailed them.

I see that now. That should be helpful. I just feel like my schedule gave me plenty of time to focus on Ks, but not enough for Torts...Tripl3Espresso wrote:You'll go back to Torts. An alumni friend told me that I should be shooting at least for a "passing grade," which now I can't remember if it's 60 or 65%. The trick is that the Themis essays also grade on structure and I really doubt the bar bothers with that (Note: I understand structure is important to make it easy for the grader, but I don't think we get points for having a well-structured essay per se).

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Yeah I got my graded essay back too and am not sure how to interpret the results. I was well aware that I totally missed the SOF issues (question #1 and #3) after I read the model answer (and kicked myself for missing that but felt totally unprepared going in, and I'd never even heard of the SOF prior to bar prep). I definitely spotted and correctly answered issue #2, and the grader apparently really liked that answer. I was pretty much ready for a disaster result, but it wasn't too terrible. I have no idea what the result means though, other than the fact that I will be paranoid about SOF issues from this point out.

I considered outlining from the final review outlines instead of the lectures, but the final review outlines do not nearly touch on enough.Mad Hatter wrote:Damn it, how did I not know about the Final Review Outlines until the Tip today? Ugh.

NY family law is not too pleasant either. Thank goodness i took it in school so at least I have a clue what she's talking about. I never hear someone talk so fast on disparate topics.

Hyperbole is not really productive in bar prep, but he really was that bad. I'm hoping he's the exception to the rule because Geis and Kramer have both been great.Nelson wrote:Y'all weren't kidding about this torts guy.

Yeah he's basically just reading the outline. Does he even know this stuff? I notice he has no idea what to say when beginning a new topic. How do you know when your essay has been graded? Do you receive a message?sd5289 wrote:Yeah I got my graded essay back too and am not sure how to interpret the results. Just completed my 4th set of K MBE questions and the goal was still 50%, shouldn't that be increasing?
