Is anyone else a bit concerned by the drops in pass rates in (pretty much) all the other states?
One good thing about Texas is, as far as I know, it does not "tie-in" the MBE score to the essay score. Texas treats them entirely separately so you can fail the MBE and still pass if you make up for it in the essays. Texas also doesn't require a minimum MBE score like some other states.
Anyone else get a little perturbed by the yellow mailer the BBE sent out? "This is your bar number..." Thanks for getting my hopes up.
The BLE spelling my name right was enough hope for me... :/

I go through phases where I'm certain I failed. Then, I'll be really confident I passed. I'm concerned about the drop in pass rates somewhat. Then again, I know people in other states (and not to sound like an asshole) that I think I'm smarter than who passed the bar.

If they can pass the bar, so can I. Here's to riding that massive curve.

I'm all about that curve. I just wish we could get it over with. I'm working as an unpaid intern and I would really really love to get paid.

Yep! Same here.

My friends from my law school state just got sworn in.... I am a roller coaster of emotions on how I feel about our exam.

I know the official score release date is Nov. 6, but I also know they came out on Halloween last year. I don't know when they were scheduled to be released last year. Basically, I'm asking if there is any chance we get them a whole week early this year?

So, I just got a ticket for running a stop sign that I didn't see. Do I have to call the Bar and report it? I couldn't find any info about it on the website.

Sucks. I almost picked up a speeding ticket the other day.

So, on the actual bar exam application, Question 9(b) states the following:

9. (b) Have you ever been convicted of an offense, placed on probation, or granted deferred adjudication
or any type of pretrial diversion? You must report any such offenses involving alcohol or drugs. You
must report any failure to appear conviction resulting from any offense. You must report any conviction
for failure to maintain financial responsibility (legally required auto insurance). You may exclude only
Class C misdemeanor traffic violations.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

So, if this is a Class C misdemeanor, which I would imagine it would be, you're probably okay.

My "xanax" is wine. FYI, the people in Target look at you funny when you try to buy box wine at 8 am on a Sunday. (spoiler alert: you can't)

As compared to NY, IL, CA, PA, it is hard to fathom why it takes so long to get results. So tired of hearing “you’re not barred yet.”

I feel like all of my out-of-state friends will have made partner by the time we get results.

I'm mostly poasting to get updated on this thread.

I'm also working an unpaid internship, which means I have to also work a full time job on top of a full time job. So that's fun. I love trying to apply to jobs on WorkInTexas but I can't, because they require that I be certified, which I'm not.

Is there a way to look at our MBE scores yet? Also, when were results supposed to come out last year, because as has been mentioned, they actually came out on Oct. 31, and it would be cool if the state was trending towards releasing earlier and earlier.

No. around the same time and there's no guarantee scores will come out on Halloween this year.

God, it'd be so awesome to get scores on Halloween. I'm just imagining how wild that night would be, assuming a pass.

My co-clerk took TX last year. I may be misremebering, but I believe the results were scheduled to come out on Friday, November 1, and were released one day early on Halloween. I believe Texas has an unwritten tradition where the results are released one day prior to the day they're supposed to be released. So I'd be surprised if we got them a week early this year. We may get them on Wednesday, November 5.

Thought I'd drop by and check in on this thread while sitting at the office on a Friday afternoon. BAD IDEA, anxiety is back.

~25 days out from results. Already signed up for the NM bar in Feb. Will feel a lot better about that if I pass this bad boy. Good luck to all

Are we the very last state to receive bar results? Seems like we might be.

If we haven't gotten job offers by now, are we just screwed? Or is November a huge hiring month?

I wouldn't say screwed. The time has probably come and gone for biglaw firms, unless there's some sudden and unexpected opening. But for smaller and mid-sized firms, they're likely waiting for people to get licenses. Smaller firms can't really take the chance to have one of their associates not being able to practice, so it would make sense for them to wait. I had several friends in PA/NJ last year that didn't hear anything until results came around, then slowly started picking up jobs once they were admitted to the bar. Texas just sucks because they make you wait so much longer than the other states.

The past two tests the results came out the day before the target release day, so expect Nov. 5th, around 1 PM-2 PM.
