Re: July 2015 California Bar Exam
I've lurked all year. Posting to say that I passed, but everyone--including me--in my family was surprised. I had convinced them that I failed. And I easily could have. I worked full-time during bar prep (Themis), but I had the advantage of having taken and passed another jurisdiction's exam. But California was a totally different animal.
If you didn't pass this time, then you will the next time. The attorney I've been working for as a law clerk took the bar 3 times. The only difference that made for him is that he's been practicing 35 years instead of 36.
Thanks for all posts/stories/encouragement.

You, of course, do not need it, you just love bar exams or something.
Thanks for all your insight over the past year.

I was a repeater too, 4th try. I think it's a huge mistake to assume you'll be a statistic- to assume you'll pass because you went to a good school, to assume you'll fail because you're a repeater. People are individuals, not statistics, if you don't give up you can learn to pass this test. If you didn't pass this time focus on next time as soon as you can. You will pass. Just a little later than you hoped.

Congrats Dude! That's some real tenacity. I honestly didn't know if I could sit for it again and was trying to mentally prepare myself for failure but thankfully wasn't necessary.BuenAbogado wrote:By the way, this was my third time. Out of curiosity what did you think about Adaptibar's MBE questions in comparison to the real thing? I took THEMIS and nothing else and felt totally crappy about the MBE.

Re: July 2015 California Bar Exam
I passed. First time taker. I'm a foreign attorney and LLM grad. Used Themis.
Only answered subparts (a) and (b) of the civpro essay. Left parts (c) and (d) of the civpro essay blank cos I ran out of time. Also didn't quite finish both PTs A and B. I have no idea what I wrote on the Corps/PR essay. I ONLY discussed regulatory takings in Q6.
I was expecting to fail. Feeling super grateful.

For all of the ones who failed this exam: are you planning to sit for the next exam? When are you planning to start studying? I am certainly clueless.

I already called Themis to get Feb. activated. Guy had no clue about the guarantee so I guess that bodes well. Said I'd have a call back within 24 hours from a rep to get it all activated under the guarantee.Raiden wrote:]Zaizei wrote:For all of the ones who failed this exam: are you planning to sit for the next exam? I'll have to spend a day or two to look over tutors, etc. I'm the type of person who will crack open my OneNote notebooks tonight to glance at things again. There's only 93 days until our July results won't get to use for another 28-30 days. That leaves little time to correct course (at least it is in my book). Plus, I'm working full time now when I wasn't before, AND I'm afraid I'll get shitcanned if I don't pass the next time.

When is the recommended start study date for the Feb exam?

The early access started Nov. 4th. I'm not sure when the "official" start date is since they don't have it updated on the Themis California page. They still have July's schedule up.Raiden wrote:When is the recommended start study date for the Feb exam?MarcZero wrote:

when i check my results, the text is red and says it doesn't match a name on the pass list. however, it doesn't actually display my name, whereas in facebook posts from my friends that have passed, it shows their name. does it just not show your name on the results page if you didn't pass? thanks, and congrats to all those who passed, and for those of us who didn't, let's kick butt next time.

That's accurate based off what a friend showed me. Sorry, bro.
