I could not sleep last night. I think at this point I am just going to call today around 1pm and see what the deal is.

. Thank you
Good luck. I don't think their response will be any different than it was before... you'll get a very curt, "we don't have information on when results will go up" & then a click in your ear... at this point I've given up on hoping for when they will come. If its this week GREAT.

Holy Crap! I called and they were mad asf. Wow. Wouldn't recommend calling. The lady seemed like she is being forced to kick rocks barefoot all day long. Gave me no info and hung up.

They are to blame, Release the results then we will stop. What they do not know is that we too are "mad as asf" as they should have released the results already. NY did and more take NY. Oh and CA may beat DC too. Thanks for calling and making your post funny, we need levity.PoliLaw wrote:Holy Crap! I called and they were mad asf. Wow. Wouldn't recommend calling. Re: 2018 February DC Bar
I called yesterday and the lady told me result will be out by mid-May. I asked if there is any chance it will come out by the end of this week. And the lady's response was, "What did I just tell you? it's mid May"
I really don't know if mid-May means May 15 or by mid-May which could be any day from now. It's not fair to us. The whole process is very stressful as it is. It does not make sense to make it more painful by keeping the result release date so secretive.

I mean, I figured that was going to be the response you got. But I agree, how on earth can NY release so much sooner? Does DC just not have enough staff to handle this properly? (Would not be surprised.) I know we had a lot of applicants, but that's when you hire in outside help. It's not like we don't have a surplus of lawyers around here who would be qualified to do this. It's starting to make me mad that they're not giving any information and they're mad at us for asking for specifics. If they told us more, folks would quit calling them for a few days. Mid-May doesn't actually mean anything and we know it.

To calm my heart I've simply told myself I failed and am beginning my July 2018 application/studying. Every so often I still get a glimmer of hope though...

[*]
Well today would be two days before the date we’re all expecting the results to be released and we didn’t get an email telling us that the results will be out in two days like you did in July.
[*]PoliLaw wrote:Personal experience. I sat for the July exam. I passed the mbe. I did not pass the Mee. Two days before the results came out everyone received an email telling us the results would be out two days later and to not reply and ask them any questions. The day the results came out my name was not on the list. I received an email the following Monday. The email didn't not have a full score breakdown but rather my mee score and my mbe score. To receive a full score breakdown the email required me to request it.

I just heard from a “source” that it will come out Friday. But unlikely.

Called in a favor from my CEO to see if he could figure out when results would come out ( I work for a large public company with headquarters in dmv) and he said he would get back to me. He left me a note on my desk this morning saying " email on Friday, results on Monday". Donuts on me if you pass, donuts from you for the entire office if you fail". He is traveling so no I didnt get to ask how he found out.

Thanks for doing this. Think they want to punish us for calling, they deserve it give us a date. They must be getting paid by a psychologist to see how we feel by making us squirm and suffer. You know this means they have the results. Pay someone to enter them already. Good luck all.anandamide wrote:PoliLaw wrote:Called in a favor from my CEO to see if he could figure out when results would come out ( I work for a large public company with headquarters in dmv) and he said he would get back to me. Re: 2018 February DC Bar
I am a July re-taker, and an email always comes second. DC follows a very particular pattern of posting results publicly first, and then sending individual emails for those that passed and those that failed second. Also, the more people that call and pester the staff, the longer it takes for them to get results. For whatever reason it slows things down. I think because the few people that answer phones are admin staff that help with the process. There really is absolutely nothing we can do until they get these results back. Everyone has a lot on the line, but this is simply the way DC handles this process. It is slow and communication is non-to zero. I recommend anyone that decides to take the DC bar to Singe this in their brain so that there is not an unrealistic expectation!!
Cheers and good luck.

Re: 2018 February DC Bar
Sorry but that is inaccurate. For the July Exam they sent an email stating they would post the results before they posted them.

I think they tell you this to get you to stop calling. There is really no reason to keep examiners abreast of the process. If you send an email with the precise date, that will cut down on time spent on the phone, screaming at innocent people. I do not, for one second, believe that the people who answer the phones are the ones actually grading, re-grading, and typing out the pass list. Their job IS to answer the phone and do whatever the people in charge need.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
