may be a mistake, but I'm doing all the lectures first. knocking them out. So haven't done any MC yet.luxxe wrote:Is anyone else getting a lot of repeats on MBE PQs? I did torts pqs 5 and property pqs 4 today, and in each I had 5+ repeated questions. All of which I know I've gotten correct before, and even some repeats of the same question in the same sets! Annoying, Themis.

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2016
Working full-time limits my ability to study. I wake up at 5 every day and study for 3 hours before work, work from 8:30 to 5, and study from 6 to 10. I shower before bed to save myself time in the morning.unidentifiable wrote:I've been able to follow this schedule pretty much exactly for the past 2 weeks:What else are y'all doing this summer? When do you start studying? I start bar prep around 9:00am
6am: wake up, eat breakfast
6:30am: dick around on computer while drink coffee
7am: start study. If its lecture, I lecture then make flash cards. If not lecture, I review flash cards for the subject for essay or PQs.
11am: exercise and take shower.
12pm: start studying again. finish flash cards, or do practice questions, or review flash cards.
I'll usually stop studying around 4 or 5.
I am doing nothing else this summer, except for minor family stuff.

I use a Chrome extension called "Video Speed Controller." It lets me change the speed in .1 increments using hot keys. I love it.Nebby wrote:I finally upgraded from 1.5x to 2x speed on the lectures and am so happy

Just did Contracts MBE PQs Session 4 and noticed a few repeats. Disappointed on one hand, but also realize it may be beneficial for drilling purposes.

I have also gotten some repeat questions in the K MBE MC. But I think I got them wrong the first time around, so I don't mind.
I suppose I should do that K graded essay. Not a fan of writing.

I'm annoyed at Directed Study because sometimes I am purposely ignoring an essay or review but I cannot move forward and mark things complete unless I have completed everything before. it's frustrating as hell because then I mark stuff off I didnt do and I was trying to get a decent estimation of % course completed...

Don't let yourself get bogged down by the percentage. It can be nearly impossible sometimes to be able to justice to everything themis says. I mean how do you review your full outline, knock out 7 lectures, and do multiple sets of MBE in one day? All with the expectation that you had quality studying? Focus more on the quality of your studying than the quantity.AlanShore wrote:I'm annoyed at Directed Study because sometimes I am purposely ignoring an essay or review but I cannot move forward and mark things complete unless I have completed everything before. it's frustrating as hell because then I mark stuff off I didnt do and I was trying to get a decent estimation of % course completed...

What is everyone's view on the essay feedback/scoring? Do they over/under score to keep you motivated? I noticed that I got the same score in every category and that seemed odd.

was wondering the same, but don't really see how we could know, besides rank speculationKD35 wrote:What is everyone's view on the essay feedback/scoring? Do they over/under score to keep you motivated? I noticed that I got the same score in every category and that seemed odd.

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2016
I've been studying for the last couple months and only just started noticing a lot of repeats the past couple days (around 50% completion). Now when I take a mixed MBE test the majority of the questions are repeats which is annoying when I'm trying to gauge my progress. Additionally, for the first time, when I took a content specific MBE Exam Evidence (5) today there were a ton of repeats. Does anyone know if this is normal?mu13ski wrote:Just did Contracts MBE PQs Session 4 and noticed a few repeats. Disappointed on one hand, but also realize it may be beneficial for drilling purposes.
FYI: I'm ahead because I'm doing a bunch of traveling in June and July.

Reviewing your outline is a waste of time at this point in studying imoRaiden wrote:Don't let yourself get bogged down by the percentage. Just got my graded K essay back. My topic concerned the cookie shop I think (Biscuit and Frawley and CW). I found the grader's comments helpful. Missed a major point. Oh well

That would be me. I'll take breaks when I need them throughout the summer, not when Themis says.Nebby wrote:Who else is studying on this beautiful Memorial Day?

Studying by the pool! I need to do 5 essays today to be back on track.
I'm supposed to start torts tomorrow.
I did get a repeat MC question today that I'm 99% sure I got right the first time - has anyone asked Themis about this?

Me! But only because I took off half of Saturday. It's rainy/cloudy here in NY so it's not so torturous. However, I still expect barbecue smells to fully permeate my home by 3 pm so I might end my studying then.Nebby wrote:Who else is studying on this beautiful Memorial Day?

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2016
It seems like sometimes in the MBE PQs, Themis re-uses fact patterns, but slightly changes stuff so that it's essentially a new question. I've noticed they re-used a deed recording question to the T, but changed the type of jurisdiction it was in so that the answer came out differently.
Also, holy crap do they test the land sale contract a lot. Would've been nice to focus on that a lot more in the lectures. I feel like Property bro only glanced over it.

I am. Took 2 days off to graduate from law school. Those days off killed the cushion I created by starting early. Gotta build another in case I get sick and need a day off.Nebby wrote:Who else is studying on this beautiful Memorial Day?
