Try the essay templates on Baressays.com They have templates for every subject with rule statements for every issue. Very compact and easy to memorize after typing them out several times.

Anyone having a hard time studying for more than 2-3 hours? I find myself not so into it as the first time around. I think I might be going down the path of a perpetual repeater.

I'm gonna throw you a few questions:
How do you feel exactly? For example, does your head hurt, do you feel tired overall, are you not engaged, do you feel unmotivated, do you feel hopeless, do you not know where to go next?

And what kind of studying are you doing during those 2-3 hours?

Right now I'm in the same 3-5 hour boat, but that is some good studying. It's normally after a run so I'm rearing to really hit up whatever is on the plan for the day.

For some odd reason I have a pretty good outline created for property. Im on barbri schedule. I realize there is still some stuff i need to brush up on as i keep learning new material or cant answer certain questions.

I feel slightly unmotivatrd but mostly still in disbelief how close i was to pass and having to do this shit again. Dreadful. Just wish the exam was a month away actually.

Maybe it's just the holiday depression. I've been feeling like a lazy pile of shit lately, too. You already proved that you have what it takes to pass (if it weren't for a bit of variance or luck), though, so hopefully that gives you some solace.

I will say this. My first read for July was about 1410. Basically my essay could be read as failing 1 essay and one PT. MBE also below 1440. I would have passed if I didn't fail the PT. 50 on a PT... when the grader gave me that 50, he knew I had not passed the exam. 65 would have been pass with 1450. You cannot expect to pass this exam if you get anything below a 65 on the PT.

Now my game plan is all fucked. I know most likely issues tested in July won't be repeated but you just never know. I'm hard studying Property and Contracts again.

Checking in for Feb. 2016!

Anyone want to share their study schedules? I'm doing self study and curious to see how much time people are devoting to MBE vs. CA-specific topics, etc.

hey- for those using adaptibar or who have used it on previous exams- how many questions did you have to do before you saw your overall average increase significantly?

it seems like because adaptibar automatically gives me my weak subjects that it would make sense that my score is stagnating but I am wondering when I should expect to see it go up.

thanks.

If I'm using adaptibar its normally because I've reviewed the subject the day of, or the day before and I focus in on questions from that particular subject. So my average starts out pretty good because the information is fresh and it gets better as the day goes on because I'm learning how to apply it better. BUT, thus far MBEs haven't been my problem.

But there is nothing more demoralizing than getting a bunch of questions wrong. Maybe you can review the subject before you do MBE questions on them?

you might be onto something with that. for some reason, however, no amount of studying seems to ever prepare me for the mbes I get wrong.

Im at the point where the only ones I get wrong are always like "person 1 is negligent and hits person 2 with his car which damages person 2 by causing him personal injuries". person 2 sues for negligence. Person 2 wins because A- actual cause is met B- proximate cause is met C- person 1 breached a duty owed to person 2, or d- there are damages.

like theres no way in hell any studying can prepare you for a question like that. anyway, rants aside, maybe with your idea I can increase my overall average by 1-3%.

Was it easy to get a change? I don't think I will be able to afford hotels in Oakland and now wondering if I can change center :(

It was really easy to change it.

You just have to enter the admission status screen and in the section of the California Bar Exam (where it says that you are eligible for examination and the test center) there is a button that says change test center (or something like that).

Good luck!

If you're looking for under $100 a night, I'm not sure how Pasadena will work out either. You could probably get a room in Ontario, or try to Air BNB in Oakland/Pasadena.

I realized that I am a giant retard. I read over my PT-A. The assignment was MEMO OF POINTS AND AUTHORITIES... a reply motion to the court.

I wrote like a research memo to the supervisor instead of writing like a document to be submitted to court. I don't know how I even came close to passing despite this giant F up.

Anyone have prior experience with (or know someone who did) the BarBri Mini Review 1 day 8 hour program? Was it worth the extra money? Any thoughts and feedback greatly appreciated!

My personal tiers

Straightforward ones—start with these
• Snyder v. Regents of the University of Columbia, Feb 2008 PT-B
o Objective memo
o Statement of facts
• Estate of Small, Feb 2006 PT-B
o Persuasive brief
o Statement of facts
• In re Snow King, Feb 2004 PT-A
o Persuasive brief
o Memo to client
• Pearson v. Savings Galore, July 2008 PT-B
o Objective memo

Mid-tier ones to try—get these under your belt
• State v. Dolan, Feb 2013 PT-B
o Closing argument (persuasive)
• Vasquez v. Speakeasy, July 2010 PT-A
o Persuasive brief
• Farley v. Dunn, 2009 July PT-A
o Brief in support of summary judgment
o Statements of uncontested material facts

Insanity—if you can handle these, you’re good to go
• People v. Draper, July 2013 PT-B
o Objective memo
• In re SIA, July 2013 PT-A
o Objective memo

From my PT guide

Ok so I think Kaplan PMBR 2011 book had a wrong rulestatement on the answer explanation.

"A has shifting executory interest that would "cut short" the preceding fee state owned by the Owner (grantor)"

^ Isn't this a springing executory interest since it divests the grantor's estate upon happening of an event? Shifting would be A to B, but if B fails to do something, then to C. C would have shifting executory interest...

Please expand on this. I am hoping this was a (big) typo by Kaplan...

just reserved a hotel room right across the street from the ontario convention center for 4 nights. I am so happy i thought i would share this with the universe. For the last 2 years I had to take an 1.5 hour bus/train trip each day to the bar exam. hopefully the extra rest should give me that tiny increment of points ive needed to pass all these years. 8)

YOU WILL PASS. YOU AND ME BOTH.

Does anybody have baressays premium subscription? Are the rule statement/approach template worth the extra bucks? I am in the market for a commercial rule statement I can recite over and over in paragraph format.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
