This is a little harsh. Why does anyone care who came to hang out with bar-takers at lunch, and why does that make it "seriously doubtful" that they'll become a lawyer? I had a friend meet me and it was great to talk to someone who wasn't in zombie mode. I'd have loved to see my parents as well. It's a stressful experience and anything that makes it slightly more bearable is not something I'd judge.
i completely agree

what's wrong with seeing your parents during the bar exam.... i'd have loved that

I hope they read this and stop. I got up and left my seat just to get away from them. They kept doing that thing where people wrongly assume what they have to say is interesting and speak pointedly loud so people around can hear.
This is way too rich. And abundantly true.

If you were in Room B you had the joyous experience of loud, sporadic banging noises from above. It sounded like explosions from some not too distant location. It was quite terrifying for me. It went on for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, and at one point I was certain we were under attack. A minimum of 10 points should be added for that alone.

They were loud and clear in Hall C too, and ongoing throughout the day. Thank you, Javits Center, for making the already unexpectedly difficult MBE that much more stressful.

Egads! So your room was REALLY active; you had the noise and the girl who passed out.

I'll be honest...I was impressed with the Buffalo administration. Other than the five minutes of jackhammering during the essay portion, I didn't notice anything out of sorts, and my proctor was efficient and nice.

I was in B, but for some reason it didn't really bother me. Loud noises are such an integral part of NYC I think I am immune.

I have almost no complaints with the buffalo center. Everything ran really smoothly, I thought the proctors were all extremely nice and friendly. They were very chatty as we sat around waiting, which was nice since otherwise I would've sat there just thinking/stressing out.

I didn't hear hardly any noise, although someone's cell phone did ring on MBE day. I'm not sure if it was a proctor's or student's since they didn't appear to kick anyone out.

My only complaint: unbearably cold. I'd heard it was cold before and I thought I was prepared. I brought long leggings, closed toed shoes, a long sleeve shirt, a cardigan, a scarf, AND a fleece jacket. Was still very cold. It was so cold that it was distracting to me, I couldn't feel my fingers or toes. The people in my row kept blowing on their hands/rubbing them together. I kept shifting around so I could sit on one foot to try and warm it. To future bar takers: cold doesn't just mean chilly AC it means FREEZING TUNDRA. Bring WAY WAY more warm clothes than you think.

Not bad. Cab driver ripped me off thursday morning, but I was too tired/hungover to really care.

My left hand was actually blue. The poor people wearing shorts and a t-shirt on essay day, I felt so bad for them.

My other, totally unrelated to the cold or to buffalo, complaint. Probably applies to all testing centers all over the country.

You are a douche if you show up to take the bar decked out in gear for your law school.

Haha, totally agree with you. There were a good amount of people at my center either wearing tshirts or sweatshirts with their school name on it. In my head I was thinking you really don't have any other shirts or sweatshirts to wear today.

BUT GUYS I WENT TO HARVARD. See, that's why I'm wearing this sweatshirt. I went to Harvard.

I think the most surprising thing was the number of pregnant girls I saw. I saw more pregnant girls than people I know.

I only saw one and when I did I felt bad that she had to sit in those awful chairs for all those hours. I literally had back pain yesterday. At least in law school the chairs were padded.

Hey everyone....just out of curiosity, do we know if the ordering of the essays was different from exam to exam? I recall my DRL essay being #4 and my Torts essay being #5...although I have seen elsewhere people saying Torts was #4 and DRL was #5....just trying to avoid a late stage panic attack/fearing I entered the last two responses incorrectly into my Examsoft windows. Thanks so much!

I am 100% sure DRL was #4, because I remember making sh*t up about DR the first thing in the PM session on day 1...

Thank you so much to all of the above posters. Much appreciated. Also, re: essay content, I've talked to a number of fairly smart people who felt the call of the questions in certain areas were rather specific/nuance-based (e.g., spendthrift presumption for trusts, derivative suit in LLC context, etc.). Hopefully this fares well for all of us, as I feel as though we have a firmer grasp on the material.
