Well, in a nutshell, I feel confident in both mpts, okay on 3 to 4 of the essays. However, 2 of the essays were basically throwing up a bunch of garbage and I'm not sure gow I feel about the mbe. I was scoring 65 to 75% on kaplan mcqs but i felt like i was narrowing down to 2 answers and making educated guesses on a lot for the real thing.njlawyer1505 wrote:Why do you believe its more likely that you failed JD?
Essentially I think it boils down to protecting myself. I fear that if I get my hopes up I'll be setting myself up for disaster. I don't know if it's my anxiety getting the best of me but I just don't think I did well enough on the mbe and 2 essays to have passed.

I feel as if that would be most folks, and judging from the typical Feb pass rates I'd wager that is the case. I felt much better this time around about the MEE, but only slightly better about the MBE, most questions felt like they came down to a 50-50. I guess if you're on that passing fringe you'd better hope you nailed those 50-50s.

Exactly. I'm sure the lack of sleep isn't helping me much either.

Don't worry about it JD. What's done is done, although id be lying if anxiety doesn't sometimes creep in, especially this close to results. I'm assuming they'll be out tomorrow. There is not much hope for today i think.

What time of day do they usually come out? I know it varies state to state

How are we notified? Email? Or do we just have to keep logging in to our bar exam account?

This is torture. If you google NJ ube 2018 results you get a result that says NJ Bar Exam results have been released. They have not.

Jdsquared87 ---- You have to log out and log back in to your BJBBE account (that's what i did)
-Make sure you are on the 'User Home' page.
-Under Admissions Documents, it will be on top - "Results Letter" - dated May 4, 2018.
-the results are in the first sentence
*************
Sweet God in Heaven I passed - thank you to this small community who kept me on the edge of sanity through all of this. Can't transfer into Alaska or Idaho, but its good enough and that is all that matters.
Best of luck to everyone and good luck out there.

Failed by 9 points. Any recommendations on how to get my grade up?Jdsquared87 wrote:I've been tracking the Examiners website and there's no information regarding a release date 2 weeks out from May. Seems that the results in '16 and '17 were released on May 4th, you'd assume that the website would be updated with an announcement on when we will receive our scores. This is slow torture. Very. very. slow.

I know they say you cannot appeal, however failing by a literal tenth of a point is the saddest thing. Anyone with experience, anything i can do?

Re: Anyone in NJ have a clue when results will be released?
Failed as well.
I received a 140 on MBE.
116 on Essay portion. Studied hard for this section yet came up extremely short.
To all those who will have to retake the UBE, the only way to push through hell is to keep going (Churchill). Failing this bar exam is a chasm of despair and disappointment. Everyone one of us has dedicated and sacrificed countless hours in our lives to pursue this dream. Careers are on the inline and we have to sacrifice time away from our families. Coming up short leaves such a deep wound emotionally and on some level, professionally. However, even so, you don't give up when it hurts, you hit back harder when it hurts. Some of these detours in life lead to greater things, speaking from personal experience. All of us need the weekend to recharge and refocus. This is not an insurmountable task. I am routing for all you retakers. This is not a badge of shame, but a scar perseverance. I am in your corner. For all those who passed, congratulations. If anyone knows of good MEE outlines or best MPT books, please let me know.
P.S.
Anyone ever heard of the tutor Professor Leonard Lakin and if so, is he any good? Anyone considering study groups to keep morale, focus, discipline and knowledge in line?

Re: Anyone in NJ have a clue when results will be released?
This happened to me on my first try...had a crippling anxiety attack the night before the exam and took it on no sleep. I missed the cut off by a point and watched my friends celebrate while I tried to pick up the pieces including the firm that pulled my offer. After some soul searching and the support of family, I sucked it up and did the prep again and hit the ball out of the park on the old version (MBE/NJ essays). To call it humbling was an understatement. The only advice I can give you is to a) if you had any type of anxiety issue(s), the bar exam and prep will magnify them greatly and I would recommend seeing a professional to help you get through this period and b) if you were semi-adequately rested, prepped, etc. you give it yet another go if this is what you want to do. Part of the problem with the exam is its randomness - you get an essay topic in your Achilles Heel area and it's going to be an uphill battle rather than one that plays to your strength. You need your exam. For some that happens on the first try and for some that's the second try and others it takes 5 times. You can do it and it's difficult and humbling/humiliating, but it doesn't mean you are going to be a bad lawyer or can't cut it and anyone who says so is spouting the typical "better than you" bs that's so common in this profession.njlawyer1505 wrote:I know they say you cannot appeal, however failing by a literal tenth of a point is the saddest thing.
