I never got this either but didn't call the center and still haven't gotten it. Just assumed it was late. Anyone else?

Why does nobody want to end up in Buffalo? Coming from California, it seems both the hotel and the flight is cheaper to Buffalo than Albany, so what's the advantage?

Buffalo just sucks. It's just not a very nice city to be in. Just very depressing. At least that's how I feel about it. But maybe that won't make a difference for some bar takers. Admittedly, I know nothing about the bar exam site in Buffalo.

I took the bar in Buffalo last summer (also came from CA) and I'm really glad I did it in Buffalo. I stayed in the hotel right next to the bar which was a far better experience than my friends who had to worry about shuttles or cabs in Albany. I think I remember the hotel being cheaper and it was relatively quiet. I think it's a smaller number of people, it felt as chill as the bar could be at least compared to the stories I heard from my friends. AND the day after the bar I took a bus up to Niagara Falls and that was incredible and such an amazing way to finish the whole experience.

As for Buffalo, it wasn't amazing but it had plenty of places to grab food and there was a starbucks right by the bar location so it was fine. Definitely recommend it.

Albany fucking sucks. Maybe Buffalo does too, but it can't be that much worse than Albany. Just go with whichever is easier/cheaper for you.

FWIW, I'd recommend just calling them and getting it re-sent. There's no guarantee it'll ever go through otherwise and the call should only take 5 minutes. The way my conversation with them went made it sound like they were all mass e-mailed on whatever day and there would be no follow up. I never would've thought to call but the dean of student affairs at my school sent out an e-mail to all NY bar takers the day after the supposed mass e-mail went out and told us to call the center if we didn't receive the e-mail.

I also didn't get the automated Certificate of Attendance Form. Wouldn't have known it was a required thing unless I looked here. I called today and the woman said it went out on the same day as the handwriting sample form. I told her I definitely got that, just not the attendance one... she had the system generate a duplicate and it got to me within 5 minutes. Makes me nervous for other correspondence (i.e. exam location).

Checking in. Barbri. NYLE on May 26th. How much studying should I do for that? It's open book, 2 hours, 60% to pass. Did all the practice questions without problem. Am I ready? Thoughts?

I personally don't want Buffalo because I can drive to Albany/Saratoga fairly quickly and have a place to stay. Buffalo would either be a much longer drive, or more likely a flight. If you're already flying, Buffalo is actually probably less hectic than Albany.

I've been studying Civ Pro. It is much less painful without the CPLR involved. Phew!

Kaplan studier checkin in. Classes start the 31st, but they have a number of exercises they want us to complete by then (if my understanding is correct).

Speaking of which...just took the diagnostic, and 51% I definitely didn't focus a ton, and know I have a lot of work to do ahead of me, but this was slightly frightening. Maybe it will scare me into studying even harder!

It appears to be some sort of form which must be filed with the NY bar people before you take the exam.

Yes and when you're done with all the paperwork they will send you an email saying that you're eligible to sit for the bar exam
