Re: 2016 Illinois Bar Exam
Like the person who started this topic, I also took the July 2015 MI bar exam and got a high enough score on the MBE to only have to take the written portion of the IL Bar Exam. My biggest concern (besides having to study while working full time) in taking the July 2016 IL Bar is that I don't want my current employer to find out that I'm taking another bar because obviously this would be red flag that I'm thinking about exiting. I know that the Character and Fitness Update on the IL application requires stating the applicant's current employer information. Does anyone have any idea if the IL Board of Admissions contacts the applicant's current employer? I'm going to call the Board and pose the question to them, but I thought, I'd ask here if anyone had any idea.

Re: 2016 Illinois Bar Exam
Anecdotal, obviously, but when I filled out my app for Illinois as a second time taker, I had to update the employer section. Because I work with fellow lawyers/in a JD-preferred job, I had to provide contact info for a supervisor at work. They DID contact him and asked for things like my start date, and then I'm guessing all those questions about whether or not I'm an honest person, etc, that they always ask.Question22 wrote:Like the person who started this topic, I also took the July 2015 MI bar exam and got a high enough score on the MBE to only have to take the written portion of the IL Bar Exam.
