Yes, some people definitely find out in advance. I've been told people working in the DA's office or w/ judges know. I know of at least one person who learned that he/she passed yesterday. That individual got hired in the DA's office.
I've heard from more than one person that sometimes they'll release and post the list a day early. Any credence to this?

This sounds to me more like the employer (DA or Judge) knows someone on the court and is asking about it to know whether or not they should make an offer to someone or if they'll need to start looking again for an applicant, or even as a personal favor, and then is telling the employee as a favor. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I can understand why the employers with a relationship to a Supreme Court justice may be asking for the heads up.
Not to the best of my knowledge. I have a court connection, but according to him they're rescoring the "close" exams and won't release scores until they have the final list. So I'd assume tomorrow at 4 is probably when we'll see it barring something like a small number of rescores or something. That just seems more like a happenstance thing.

Good luck, man, I hope our past doesn't define us. I hear that PA is rather lenient, comparatively speaking. Did you consult with a C&F attorney?BigJohnny wrote:BlueLotus wrote:Is PA a hardass a la Florida when it comes to C&F? Anyone experience delays?
I've had some C&F issues (debt, old DUI) with this administration. I have to say that they've been contacting me pretty regularly regarding anything they needed or to ask me questions about the file. It seems like they were more concerned over the debt issues than anything else, though. Generally want me to pay up creditors (already was working with them to do that), explain the debt, etc. In fact, the debt issue is the only thing they were "hard" about, going as far as to ask me to pay a debt that was 3 years old, had been a "charge off by agreement," is not in collections, and has nobody that I can actually pay to take care of it.
...I had to control my urge to point out the website states they "aren't a debt collection agency" to the examiner, but them's the breaks. If you haven't heard from them, I wouldn't worry, and if you have you probably would have received a C&F letter saying they may not certify your admission unless you take care of or provide adequate explanation for the issue. That was my experience at least, and I haven't heard from them since last week...so I guess I'll know more about the process after results are released.

No. I spoke to a lot of people, and given the age of the DUI the one thing I kept hearing was to disclose but not worry because it was a decade ago. The debts were a bit of a surprise, but I immediately took care of them and regularly updated and responded to questions from Tracy in the C&F office regarding it. We last spoke on Monday as a matter of fact, and she was most concerned about the debt and getting proof it was being taken care of in, which I did.BlueLotus wrote:Good luck, man, I hope our past doesn't define us. I've got Cake's "Cool Blue Reason" stuck on repeat in my head: "the minutes change like seasons only eight more hours to go."

I've heard from folks who've taken it before that results are sometimes posted by 1:00 p.m. I sure hope so. I'm sure my boss does too. I don't think I'm going to be able to get any work done today!

Passed!! Woo-hoo!! To the above post - yes, I would highly recommend Themis. I worked full-time while studying and it worked really well for me. I completed about 60% of the course and got that pass!

Passed and would not be surprised if Themis was over 95% at my school. If you're self-motivated, it's worth the discount.

Did anyone of you Philly folks take NJ as well? My C&F attorney recommends it if I want to practice in the metro-Philadelphia area.

I'm not yet just because as things stand I'm soloing in Harrisburg, Philly, and Pottsville (I wrangled free office space in each for a year). I want to see where my practice will really be before I commit to another bar.BlueLotus wrote:Did anyone of you Philly folks take NJ as well? Oh, and I got my. Recommendation for Admission today in the mail, so don't stress too much about C&F!

Congrats! I'm trying not to stress about C&F but unfortunately my shit is more recent.

Re: PA Bar Wait Group
I went to school in Philly, so I took NJ as well. It's quite common to do both and not as daunting as it would seem. NJ's bar is significantly easier than PA's in my opinion (though, I clearly haven't received my NJ results yet).
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
