Yeah, what the hell. Do some people just get screwed on the grading or do people get bumps up if they're graded by graders that they figure out are assholes?

I've been told that the NY graders receive "report cards." If the grades they assign are skewed, the Board corrects for that. I hope that is true.

In NY if you fail and it's close (I think if you score 645+; passing is 665) then they have another person read and grade your essays to make sure it's not subjective grading.

Same in CA. They regrade if you come close but miss, averaging the two the second time around. If the second guy differs by more than 10 points from the first a third supergrader rolls in and grades it.

If I'm getting mid 70% does that mean I'm good to go?

Agreed. On set 5 I'm getting 50-60% and it's driving me crazy. I only need a 125 scaled to pass though. Fingers crossed

lol the problem is that the MBE is 1/7th of the exam. So it's virtually meaningless.

I'd be better spending my time on secured transactions than all the MBE subjects combined

Yeah I was only at 60% for Civ Pro and I had been cruising along in the others at 75%. His Civ Pro was wayyy harder than BarBri's. Just the fact that it's such a new topic, I don't think anyone knows exactly what they'll be like.

He seems to be saying that he knows how to teach people how to make up law (make up a rule, state it, then bullshit after... or something like that), whereas most Bar prep companies try to force students to memorize all of the law (an impossible task). I get the impression that he was hawking some snake oil secret methodology of bullshitting your way to success.

I don't know the particular question you are referring to, but I do remember that tickets are revocable licenses. Did you have Franzese for Property? For some reason, I remembered her story about the couple and Broadway tickets, where the couple was asked to leave after they were already seated bcs. some movie star was in the theater and the owners thought she would want those seats.

yes exactly. but does his snake oil translate to a bunch of points? So say you forget the rule....is this a confidence trick? Do we just make something up and CRAC as if our "R" was correct? If so, thats awesome!

Not plugging for Barbri, but Guzman makes educated guesses in his mini-review. Hopefully, he's correct and we don't have to memorise all the nutty deadlines.
