Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Did Barbri's half-day MBE and got 59/100.
If I multiply that % by 190, I'm left with 112/190, which (according to some chart from another thread) is a 131.7 scaled.
Should I be worried or am I on pace?

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
That is assuming the half day MBE is equally as difficult as the real MBE. The most indicative way of telling where you stand is through the simulated MBE and look at the percentile since you will be compared against everyone else. There is no way for us to objectively compare the difficult of one exam to another. So the best indication would be to see how everyone else's doing on the same test.N.P.H. wrote:Did Barbri's half-day MBE and got 59/100.

That's fair. I'm not sure Barbri even assigns the half-day so I have no idea where to submit my resultskyle010723 wrote:That is assuming the half day MBE is equally as difficult as the real MBE. Depends how much the MBE counts for and what the pass rate is in your state since it's scaled. But generally yes, 66% is generally close to the safe zone. That's 132 raw, which is generally at the 50th percentile and for those of us in a 50% MBE state, that usually means your essays have to be better than about 5% of the other test takers, which is basically a given if you did that well on the MBE.Ludacrispat26 wrote:This may be asking a bit much, but what raw % should we really feel safe at on the MBE? I feel like ~65% is the cutoff?

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
I only did two mixed sets, got 72% on both of them. My overall mpq average in barbri is 58%, and percentiles range from 30-75 depending on the subject. A few in the 40s and a few in the 60s. Dont know what to think.

FWIW I did poorly on those too. I think 12/21 or something.victortsoi wrote:just did the 21 q ncbex set, did worse than on the barbri mixed sets. what gives? is that representative?

50th percentile of Barbri takers for the half-day exam s 60% correct. That information comes from the front of the MBE Practice Question book.N.P.H. wrote:That's fair. Thanks for the help! I emailed Barbri and they just told me that it was self-graded and there was no way to compare. *sighKage3212 wrote: 50th percentile of Barbri takers for the half-day exam s 60% correct. That information comes from the front of the MBE Practice Question book.
Doublesigh at my score when I'm averaging 65-80% in all subjects on practice questions

Sorry about the stupid question....I've been away. What was the average or mean score for the simulated MBE?
And how screwed am I if I got an even 100?

Don't sweat it brah. Find the two or three crappiest subjects you had and hit em hard. I got a 104, but then followed it up with a 69/100 on the half-day exam, which is fine. Probably too late in the game to order Emanuel and have it arrive in time, but just keep with it. Based on what I've done on Emanuel so far, Barbri's claim that your final MBE score will be at least 15-20 points higher than your Barbri midterm seems accurate.nutella123 wrote:Sorry about the stupid question....I've been away. The Barbri effect applied to me for sure - got a 102 on the Simulated MBE and 1 week later got a 127 on the Emanuel practice MBE. About a 12% jump.

Did anyone buy the mini review? How was/is it?

Although I vowed to not give Barbri a single cent more, I caved. It's good. Guzman teaches the whole thing and narrows down what you have to remember.Andrews989 wrote:Did anyone buy the mini review? How was/is it?

If you're in NY, the mini-review includes the major NY subjects, and the whole thing is taught by Reuscher (not Guzman). Just FYI.myrtlewinston wrote:Although I vowed to not give Barbri a single cent more, I caved. It's good. Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Is there such thing as a "safe" score on the MBE?
By that I mean, if you get [x] score, and don't bomb the MEE and the MPT, you'll pass in most jurisdictions.

I am in NY. There are 2 mini-reviews. One for the MBE, and one for the NY subjects. The former is taught by Guzman and the latter is taught by Ruescher.musicfor18 wrote:If you're in NY, the mini-review includes the major NY subjects, and the whole thing is taught by Reuscher (not Guzman).
