Link to news release. 48.6%

http://www.calbar.ca.gov/AboutUs/News/T ... 01426.aspx

Edit: 61% for first-timers, 14% for repeaters.

Its the statistics they give you when you fail the exam.

That's rather violent... There's work to be done.

Not to jump the gun, but does anyone know anything about getting sworn in while living out of state? I found something from the CA Bar saying you can get the authorization card signed by a judge or "anyone authorized to administer oaths" but I don't know how to get access to the former and I don't know who is included in the latter group. Is an out-of-state notary public sufficient?

Notary is fine. For some reason they're quite vague about it on the site. I got mine notarized at UPS.

What does the screen look like if you didn't pass? Checking for a friend who's too nervous to do it herself.

i had a tough time with one of the peformance test exams, maybe that was what did it in for me :( I have no idea

will have to wait for the mailed results to see what my weak areas in the exams were

I know I had failed the business associations/professional responsbility question.

Congrats to people who passed. I wonder what questions did me in. Probably pts and the trust and the pr/corps questions.

The information that you have entered does not match with a name on the pass list. This may have occurred because:

1) the applicant was not successful on the examination;
2) the numbers you entered are incorrect;
3) a registration number was entered instead of a file number; or,
4) the person did not take the examination.

Those were SO hard. I honestly have no idea how I passed because I bombed those. Like, they were unreal hard. I'm sorry :(

my name appears on the passlist, but I am unable to check my admissions status. does this happen to anyone else?

edit: when I attempt to login to check my admissions status, i get the response: "The data you entered did not match our records. Please check your information and enter it again."

Feb is definitely the time to blow it out of the water.
Thanks, but not sure that I will take again, unless my wife gets asked to be transferred to ca.

It's not that bad for me. I am barred in two other states and am currently working in one of them.

FUCK! I honestly thought I had a shot at passing! I felt good during and after. I came so close in Feb., knew what I needed to tweak and thought I did just that.

I am looking forward to seeing my scores. I may have to get a tutor. The only thing giving me comfort is I have no student loans.

for those who didn't pass I am really sorry. Wish it were a 100% pass rate. I still think it is a crap shoot...I know a few of my essays were crap and I didn't hit half the issues mentioned here and other places. 48% is brutal for a July exam...just brutal

Ditto. I was wondering this too. Hopefully it's just bc they're uploading the pass list onto the system so that it gets reflected on the admission status portal.

I was wondering, if I could MBE transfer to another state if it meets the requirement but I fail. Just take the Essays in that state. DC or Minnesota. WOrking in Immigration, seems like most of the associates are barred elsewhere.

I noticed too that you needed 615 raw score on the essays to pass the atty exam in July. In February, it was 605. The passage rates for the atty exam was also lower than normal.
