Good to see I am not the only one struggling with AB over barbri, just finished 6 sets of 18 Q's for all 7 subjects (756 Qs) and ended with a 69.7% overall average, while after 400 questions on AB Im at 61%.

You learn more from wrong answers than right answers...at least...that's what I tell myself.Dee099 wrote:Good to see I am not the only one struggling with AB over barbri, just finished 6 sets of 18 Q's for all 7 subjects (756 Qs) and ended with a 69.7% overall average, while after 400 questions on AB Im at 61%.

There are also tons of AB questions that ask about topics/principles never touched on in Barbri and are probably not even in the Barbri outlines.

I just can't seem to get more than 50% correct on AB civ pro questions. Contrast this with 75%-80% that I am scoring with Kaplan's civ pro questions. Both companies made up their questions. It's like some of the concepts that AB tests Kaplan barely or didn't cover at all. I don't know whether to be encouraged or discouraged lol.

Re: Adaptibar user hangout - July 2017
I say don't sweat it. I'm taking Barbri, and my Civ Pro Adaptibar score is consistently 20% lower than whatever I'm getting on Barbri. And just looking at the Adaptibar national and state averages, it looks like its normally for people to do ~10% worse on Adaptibar civil procedure than on other topics. I can't the civil procedure questions on the bar will be quite as tough as Adaptibar, but even if they are, it looks like we're going to all be in the same boat.Lawyerinwaiting89 wrote:I just can't seem to get more than 50% correct on AB civ pro questions. Oh Snap! Guess who got an 80% on the 2013 OPE? If I can get that up to 90% by exam day, I'll be tickled. It didn't include civ pro questions, so I'll do another one with just civ pro, thirty questions or so, to see how I'm doing. Now, if I could just bring my essay and pt score up a few points...much more practice ahead.

Has anyone just recently purchased AB? I'm thinking of purchasing it this week, but I'm unsure whether most of its utility comes from using it from the start of your bar review course. Thanks!

If you don't mind paying, Id say go for it, imo the more questions you do the more you learn. GLdroit wrote:Has anyone just recently purchased AB? This is very true, especially for Civ Pro, some of the Civ Pro questions make me laugh, and laugh harder when only 10% of students selected the right answer, they literally ask about rules no one has heard of.bballbb02 wrote:There are also tons of AB questions that ask about topics/principles never touched on in Barbri and are probably not even in the Barbri outlines.
Im happy just knowing Im a little above the average of all the current AB users (even if its by 1.2%)

Re: Adaptibar user hangout - July 2017
AB questions confirmed getting harder.
Part of it is that they start targeting your weaknesses. But that's a small part because they eventually have to ask all the questions in their database so when they run out of questions that target your weaknesses they'd just revert back to a random/standard order.
In actuality though when you first start taking questions in a subject they give you the very basic questions. After 100+ you start to get very nuanced ones. I'd like to take one of the exams to see what kind of balance there is between hard and easy questions on an actual exam, the only problem is I probably have done a lot of the questions already so I won't be able to fairly assess.

It's worth it. I just purchased recently and AB's questions seem different than Barbri questions (obviously a concern because AB are real ones). I would have freaked out on test day if I hadn't seen anything like them before.droit wrote:Has anyone just recently purchased AB? Short Answer: Noliebs378 wrote:sitting at 68% after 500 should i be worried?
Long Answer: IMO, i think you wanna be at or above 65% going into the test, and also don't include the first couple of weeks into that 68%, keep testing yourself, if Im correct AB gives you a analysis after the first 350 questions, and then another one after a second round of 350 Q's, so make sure to do the last q's to hit 700, and compare, sounds like youre doing well, just keep at it.

Anyone know a place online where people are discussing specific MBE questions along with adaptibar? Some questions I don't understand even after their explanation and reading my materials. The sticky at the top of this forum says discussing mbe = ban.

There is an "mbe question" thread where it's okay to talk about practice or released questions (basically anything from AB or any program), the real concern is directly after the exam talking about those questions.unitball wrote:Anyone know a place online where people are discussing specific MBE questions along with adaptibar? How are you doing on your last 200? I'm sure a lot better than your first 300. That's what will matter.liebs378 wrote:sitting at 68% after 500 should i be worried?

Also isn't 68% well above passing?liebs378 wrote:barkschool wrote:How are you doing on your last 200? I'm sure a lot better than your first 300. That's what will matter.liebs378 wrote:sitting at 68% after 500 should i be worried?

Re: Adaptibar user hangout - July 2017
Anyone else ever have a REALLY shitty day on Adaptibar? I've been doing significantly better on MBE (both on Barbri and Adaptibar) and did well on the Simulated Barbri MBE... but today I'm shtting the bed. Like 50% through 25 ish questions.
Chalking it up to adaptibar's algorithm feeding me tough questions (or at least my weak areas), but damn, is it frustrating.

Yeah if you got a 68% on the actual MBE that's probably like a 150 scaled or something.ConfusedL1 wrote:Also isn't 68% well above passing?liebs378 wrote:barkschool wrote:How are you doing on your last 200? TSM, you mentioned having around 1000 (a week ago) Q's left on AB. How are you thinking about handling finishing both AB and barprep (barbri?) questions?TheSpanishMain wrote:.

I don't think that was me...if it was I misspoke. I've done about 750 AB questions. I'm not stressing about whether I "finish" them or not. Just going to keep plugging away and however many I get through, that's how many I get through. I'm sitting at 72% right now, with 75% on my last 350, so feeling marginally okay.barkschool wrote:TSM, you mentioned having around 1000 (a week ago) Q's left on AB. I am sitting at 875 completed. I did a 100 question practice test over the weekend to see how I would do (no algorithm just 100 questions over ALL subjects) and I scored at 63% (Civ Pro and interestingly Torts, were both at 50%, I killed evidence getting 13 of 14 right, did well on contracts as well). I am not sweating the Civ Pro that much, it was a class I did really well in during law school and as a former clerk the concepts (most of them) just click. Disappointed in Torts, even though when I look at the break down I did 5/7 on Negligence, which is the main part of torts, and then hit and miss on other portions).
I work full time, but my goal is to do further tests each weekend to get through more questions (if I do 100 each Saturday and Sunday that is another 600) then trying to doing a more modest amount during the week as I have to build in more time to review outlines for the essay topics.

Re: Adaptibar user hangout - July 2017
I am curious if anybody else here compares their overall average in their actual bar review course and their scores in Adaptibar per each subject. I went back through the entire course for Barbri thus far and marked down how many right out of how many questions have been asked on that subject, i.e. 100/150 total questions in "Contracts" such as the workshop, mix sets, simulated MBE and the individual subject question sets together.
I went through every subject and did that for Barbri and Adaptibar and divided everything into 3 columns (in an excel spreadsheet) with Barbri in a column then Adaptibar, and a "total" correct/tested. Here is a picture of what I mean: https://ibb.co/g2zvEa
Just curious to see how other people's scores compare in one to the other, if you still do Barbri questions along with Adaptibar, as some people to see to not to the Barbri question sets and replace them with Adaptibar entirely.
