I'm so happy to read that many of you are passing. I'm especially happy for my fellow repeaters. I'm hoping I get the same news in May! Congratulations, everyone. And if you didn't pass, it's okay to feel awful and miserable for a little while, but don't get discouraged!

Yeah the Florida results will come out on the 11th at 9:00am. Thats usually when they post them. What did you guys think of Florida? It seems like with all these low pass rates Florida is going to be pretty bad too..

Does anyone know what the scale is on the MBE this time? It's equated, but does anyone know if they added just 10 points (the 10 freebies) or 20 points? I think that the most that they've done is 21 points.
This means that we took the MBE, but we know that only 190 of them actually counted. So if we got 120 correct, they add 10 points and the scaled score is 130 out of 200.

It's never a set amount. When bar prep courses tell you to add 15 points to your raw score on their practice exam, that's a very rough estimation. IRL, on one exam, it would be like "add 12 points for your 160, 12.2 points to your 159, . . . 15.6 points to your 125 . . . 19.4 points to your 110."ReachTheBar79 wrote:Does anyone know what the scale is on the MBE this time? And only those who are not permitted to say would have any clue what the scale looked like this time (or any time since they stopped releasing enough data to figure that out about 10 years ago)

If you have gotten your results and feel okay sharing them, please post in this spreadsheet! It will help those of us that have to wait another 4 weeks hopefully feel better!

Re: Feb 2016 bar results waiting thread
Ended up failing IL by 3 points, which is a massive improvement from failing by 14-15 points last time. The MBE, even though I felt it was easier this time, still managed to kill me. I absolutely killed the essays, with a majority of 5 and 4.5 scores. Didn't do great on the MPT, did about average or a little below.
If someone, anyone, can help me master the MBE, I'd be forever indebted. I've struggled with multiple choice exams for most of my life, but have no trouble putting together very solid essays on the law. It's super discouraging.

All true... They add a different amount each test and it's not uniform. Like BVest said, they add less points to your raw score as your raw score gets higher. Although, from what I read, February tends to have a smaller scale (aka less points added in general) because the mean score in February is lower than in July.BVest wrote:It's never a set amount. Just hoping to get a good enough score on the MBE to give a cushion in case my essays aren't as good as I hope.

Re: Feb 2016 bar results waiting thread
My work email spam filter received a message from an email that looks like an official Colorado bar examiner address, with the subject line "Verify your account." If I'd taken the exam in Colorado, I'd be freaking out, but it appears to be spam. (Either that or a massive clerical error!)
People keep reminding me I have 4 days left just as I manage to get my mind off of it.
Super congrats to those who've passed. Some of your stories are pretty great.

Counting down the days until Friday is going to be torture. Super excited about all of you who have passed so far, but I keep having nightmares about seeing that "you were not successful" again... fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear. May I ask how you actually felt walking out of the MBE? I know it was generally easier, but what were your feelings about it overall?lawst_ wrote:Ended up failing IL by 3 points, which is a massive improvement from failing by 14-15 points last time. For me, Adaptibar helped significantly. I still have to wait a month for my results, though

Sorry to hear that, please don't get discouraged. I'm a repeater who failed last exam and was close. Did your Mbe scores improve this time? Your essay score seems like you would had passed. does this mean the curve wasn't very helpful? Bc I have a friend who still passed last February, ended up with 4s and one 3 on the essays, average/ below Pt, and 123 on Mbe.lawst_ wrote:Ended up failing IL by 3 points, which is a massive improvement from failing by 14-15 points last time. Congrats to all those who have passed! To anyone it didn't work out for this time around, keep your head up and know that you can totally do it.
IL bar takers, I have a question- I passed but the bar has yet to receive my MPRE results yet. On your letter indicating that you passed, does it list your score or do you have to go somewhere else on the site to see what you scored?
I'm guessing mine doesn't list my score due to the lack of the MPRE thing, but wanted to double check to make sure I'm not mistaken. Thanks!

Hey everyone. I am waiting for my results as I took the MA bar.
Congrats to all of the passers and KEEP YOUR HEAD UP to everyone that failed.
Passers- Did anyone have a string ( more than 3) of the same letter at any time? (AM or PM)

A string of 3 letters in a row is meaningless. Even a string of 10 letters in a row is meaningless.waiting06 wrote:Hey everyone. I am waiting for my results as I took the MA bar.

Re: Feb 2016 bar results waiting thread
Glansberg88-I just posted on the MA thread
As far as the MBE on the morning section I had a lot of B's and D's and on the afternoon section tons of A's and C's.. I had a lot of string choices on both section. In the afternoon I had a string of C's and once I counted there were 8 total. So I am very nervous.
If the passers had something similar then I think it will help with the nervousness that probably most of us have, well if they did anyway, if they didn't.....YIKES!!!

And that's talking about the SAT, where each question has 5 possible answers. The chances of such streaks is higher on the MBE where there are only 4 possible answers.Assuming that the answers are distributed randomly, your chances are actually more than one-in-eight that you’ll see a streak of four or more identical answers in a section of 25 questions. And there’s about a 2.7 percent chance you’ll see a streak of five or more consecutive identical answers.

Bingo. I get slightly annoyed when I hear people talking about how 5 D answers in a row freaked them out. I'm almost positive the order of MBE questions is randomized to discourage cheating.BVest wrote:https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/won ... ires-make/waiting06 wrote: Passers- Did anyone have a string ( more than 3) of the same letter at any time? Gamblers fall for this all the time. They see the roulette ball land on red 10 times in a row, so they assume it's due to hit black soon. Nope, odds are unchanged. The fact that you answered D the past 5 questions doesn't mean D is less likely to be the answer on this particular question.

BVest- Thanks for that link!!!

That said, All is done and all I or anyone else waiting can do is......WAIT!
