That doesn't mean anything. Some people waited hours for theirs last year and then found out they passed - so don't get defeated.

Re: July 2016 Illinois Bar Exam
Also - FYI - failers get their results at the same time - mixed in - I got mine saying I failed last year - and people who got theirs after me (PS Didn't appear to be alphabetical - might be by your bar taker number) passed.

If overall scores went down by any significant margin, it will probably take some time. Gotta sort PR plan out..rkreymer wrote:Was the overall % released yet?

They may be adopting the UBE anyway. They were accepting comments last year, but are probably waiting to see what happens with NY before they take the plunge.RaceJudicata wrote:If overall scores went down by any significant margin, it will probably take some time. Re: July 2016 Illinois Bar Exam
It is 50% Essays and 50% MBE. Depending on the number of MBE questions (There are 190 + 10 experimental to start with but they can throw some out) the essays are given the same weight as the MBE. The MPT is worth about 2.25 - 2.5 times the regular essays. So 5 points each for 9 essay questions and then the MPT = x points - then they multiply that so that each side (MBE and MEE/MPT) are each worth 200 pointsrmhco wrote:mu13ski wrote:Anyone have the scoring breakdown? For those who are retaking, remember that most February retakers pass on take 2.

Based on the scoring summary pass rates must have gone down significantly. 266 to pass and 260 was the 24th percentile... 270 was the 34th percentile so pass rate was somewhere in between 76% and 66%.RaceJudicata wrote:If overall scores went down by any significant margin, it will probably take some time. Anyone know the best way to get our MBE scores if we passed? The score transfer form lets you pay $25 to transfer (but without telling you your score) or $25 to find out if you're automatically admitted in D.C., etc., but again says they won't tell you the actual score.

Re: July 2016 Illinois Bar Exam
My friend who took the Illinois bar a couple of years ago requested her score transferred to a couple different jurisdictions with varying minimum scores. I believe she started with state with a mid-range score, so that she had a baseline. Then she requested transfer to a score with a higher minimum, and then had a range for what her score could be.justtrying wrote:Anyone know the best way to get our MBE scores if we passed? Comparing the Feb and July equivalency chart and am seeing a huge drop in percentiles around 250 (total) on up. Someone that knows how to interpret this better than I do, does that mean a huge difference in passage rate? I would think so if percentiles are much lower than they were, but not really sure how to read them so figured I'd ask.

Re: July 2016 Illinois Bar Exam
Yeah, there is a big difference between the passage rates in July and February always because there are a lot less people taking it in February, usually mostly retakers. Best way to compare is to July 2015, when it was just under 76%. It looks like July 2016 will be slightly lower, but won't know for sure since the pass rate can be as high as 76% and as low as 66% depending on distribution of scores between 260 and 270.ls23 wrote:Comparing the Feb and July equivalency chart and am seeing a huge drop in percentiles around 250 (total) on up. Not trying to be offensive. I genuinely would like to know whether she did this out of sheer curiosity about her score or whether there was another reason she had to know.squiggle wrote:My friend who took the Illinois bar a couple of years ago requested her score transferred to a couple different jurisdictions with varying minimum scores. Re: July 2016 Illinois Bar Exam
Definitely not out of sheer curiosity. She was planning taking a 2nd state, which allowed you to transfer your MBE and take only the essay part/MPT. She wanted to know her MBE range, so she could decide if her MBE score was high enough to take just the essays, or if she should consider taking the whole thing (including the MBE) in the 2nd state.Startled Rabbit wrote:Not trying to be offensive. Anyone know when/if Illinois will release the official pass percentage statewide and for individual schools?

You can pay $50-75 to get the advisory reports on DC/MN/ND and put a range in.Nebby wrote:I wish I knew what my MBE score is so I could put it on the bar spreadsheet

Re: July 2016 Illinois Bar Exam
UIUC just released the pass rate for July 2016, so I think they've at least released to the schools. No clue about statewide.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
